The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 98: Blond Golddigger (Part 1)
The sword descended from the air and struck the Hellhound’s forehead stopping the sword for a mere moment before the chaos ensued, the Shortsword zipped through the Hellhound’s head and struck the ground behind the monster.
Rem landed on the ground and looked at the shirt he wore with a sigh.
’I just recently bought this,’ Rem thought as he looked at the gashes on his clothes and then advanced toward the Monster, ’Your core better be worth it,’
He took out his magic iron sword and gripped it with both hands, bringing down the sword with precision and slashing the corpse in half, retrieving the core instantly – The Hellhound’s magic stone glimmered and Mika looked at Rem’s back with jealousy and shame.
’He slayed the Hellhound...’ Mika thought while clenching her teeth, she clenched them so hard that blood flowed down from them freely, ’My revenge... I wasn’t strong enough to even wound the Hellhound instead they protected me,’
"I know how you feel," Drew said and Mika turned to him, he was next to her and smiling, "Revenge is one of the greatest motivators, it can motivate you to get stronger, it can motivate you to train, it can motivate you to get stronger but it also makes you blind, when you were about to attack, you subconsciously released your Murderous intent and it was able to track your location – you should learn to keep your emotions in check,"
Drew leaned closer and adoringly rubbed her azure hair.
"Everybody here cares about you," Drew said, "Even if Rem doesn’t express it, you should know that he cares about you a lot,"
Both of them looked at Rem who continued cutting through the Hellhound with his Magic iron sword, he had already found the core and now was attempting to skin the boss.
’Hellhound skin is not only a valuable commodity,’ Rem thought, ’It can also be used to create clothing and implement armor,’
There was a lot more to Orion than inns and a GUILD, there were multiple towering mansions with other Apprentices, forges and so on... A Hellhound’s fur would do good for forging armor and that was why Rem was so interested in it.
"Before I had triggered my barrier to protect you, he was already preparing to spring forward," Drew said, although he knew it was a lie – Rem had only been preparing to attack the Hellhound, not to save her, "Revenge might give you strength but you’ll be blind to the emotions of people that truly care about you, so next time we face a Hellhound, try to keep your emotions in check or else you’ll get gravely injured,"
Mika nodded gratefully, she was happy she had such caring friends.

Rem had earned a total of 20 bronze coins and he sighed, this was not too much but not too less either.
’I didn’t even make any personal money from this haul,’ Rem thought, ’And it’s only two weeks left before the month is over and I have to enter the B-rank dungeon,’
Of course the words of the Mayor were still echoing, he had to enter a B-rank dungeon since he was the winner of the test, this was the part of the reasons that he had been soloing dungeons earlier, to not only get magic stones to sell but to absorb souls and grow stronger.
’Since it’s the last two week stretch, I need to take a risk,’ Rem thought, ’and absorb as much monster souls as I can... I should be at the peak of B-rank, I need to get the strength of an A-rank,’
This meant he would need to absorb many monsters to be able to match an A-rank Raider, that was the only way he’d be able to clearly survive the dungeon without having to show his real strength.
’And I have to practice my magic as well,’ Rem thought, he had fire magic that he needed to hone – every skill was an opportunity that he needed to utilize.
Rem left the GUILD after telling Drew he was going to leave and then he went to the Café, the scent was attracting him all the way from the GUILD.
"I have 20 Bronze coins," Rem said, amazed by the haul that they made today. A Hellhound boss was worth quite a lot and it wasn’t like Drew’s party had 8 members. Rem smiled a bit, he had been longing to actually have a good meal here.
’Maybe I can sneak some Sake,’ Rem thought, curiosity getting the better of him. He soon reached the towering Café and entered it, the music streaming into his ears once again as he sighted Dungeon raiders alike making merry.
Rem looked around to see if he would catch any familiar faces but he didn’t see any, instead he saw an empty table at the corner and he walked over, taking a seat and summoning the waiter to take his order.
Rem ordered double of what he had ordered last night in Orion and once the waiter brought it to his table, most of the attention was turned to him. Murmurs went through the Café.
"He probably made a big haul today,"
"Woah even though the food is expensive here? He was able to buy some,"
"Think we should talk to him?"
The murmurs were drowned out by the music, Rem devoured his food eagerly while remembering that the Hellhound’s fur was in his inventory – he would need to visit the smith and see if he could craft some armor.
’And that means heading back to Orion,’ Rem thought, ’Maybe I should join another raid first,’
*Tap Tap*
’That’ll be wasting too much time, I don’t know how much it’ll take to craft light armor,’ Rem thought.
*Tap Tap*
’Besides how will the smith extract the magical properties from the fur? Smithing surely is a...’
*Tap Tap Tap*
Rem was forced to look up, his gaze fell upon a beautiful woman with pretty blond hair and dark green eyes – she looked like Cynthia but at the same time, she didn’t... this woman was more mature and gave off a certain slutty aura.
This was going to be unlike any battle Rem had faced before, a golddigger!
