Chapter 96: Newbie Raid (Part 3)

The goblins were not alone, behind them were more Death wolves. These were the two basic monsters in a D-grade dungeon and it ensured that the Newbies would get their adequate amount of Dungeon raiding experience.

Noticing that the monsters were far more than he had expected, Drew raised an eyebrow – the dungeons were always unpredictable. The Cavalier gripped the sack tightly and watched the Apprentices shoot forward with purpose, ready to combat the wave of monsters.

Rem joined them this time, his figure blurred past them instantly and he buried his short sword into the head of one of the goblins – even the speed he had showed Mark was faster than anything that the Apprentices could muster... well all except one.

Cole hopped off the head of a Death wolf, making the monster growl dangerously as it unleashed it’s murderous intent... before the Intent could wash over the rest of them, Cole swiftly decapitated the beast and swung his chains at three goblins, slashing and killing them swiftly.

’Not only has his speed increased but his battle senses have been carved as well,’ Rem thought, all Cole needed was a wave of dungeon experience and he could become as powerful as a Cavalier easily.

Rem quickly withdrew his blade, he was not going to be outdone by Cole. He sprinted across the dungeon floor, decapitating and killing monsters with single precise slashes packed with soul energy. The others were attacking as well and Drew’s lips distorted, turning into a proud smile.

With each monster they killed, his smile grew even wider until it was stretching from ear to ear – he was proud of his students, they were doing a good job. Mika slammed her knuckles into a Monster, it’s head exploding upon impact.

Her heart beat with excitement as she slaughtered each and every monster in her way, ranging from goblins to Death wolves – nobody was spared from her wrath, her movements were fast and precise, raining hell upon the monsters. It only took her a single punch to kill a monster, not because she was that strong but because her soul energy was volatile.

’She’s radiating killing intent,’ Rem thought, her killing intent was strong. It was clear that she hated these monsters, especially the Death wolves.

#####

It was very unlike the first time when he met Rem – the Apprentices had overpowered every monster in the vicinity, there was no need for a healer because nobody had gotten injured so far but it would be different from here on out.

They were standing in front of the Boss room, the towering doors slowly parting with a single push from Drew. He had to get active in this battle. D-grade bosses were powerful but that wasn’t his only worry, he glanced at the Apprentices that followed eagerly behind him... He didn’t want them to get hurt.

Soon the doors parted and they entered the Boss room, staring at the dungeon boss standing proud and domineering. Mika’s lips trembled as her eyes flashed, her tattoo glowed and her teeth gnashed against each other menacingly – The boss was a Hellhound... a monster that she hated with her life.

Rem was disappointed, but he got over the disappointment quickly. Hellhounds were easy to beat, even though they had a high speed and attacking force, Rem could keep up with them easily.

The others stared in surprise at the Boss and it let out a howl, the ground vibrated as the howl traversed into their ears.

[Skill: Intimidation is being used...]

The Boss was intimidating them with it’s roar, Rem wasn’t affected by this but the Hellhound wasn’t done yet, an intense pressure suddenly appeared in the room, falling upon all of them.

’Smart,’ Rem quipped, after Intimidating them, the Hellhound quickly followed up with a murderous intent to ensure that they stayed in place... The Boss’s murderous intent was strong, that was a point Rem couldn’t deny but it wasn’t strong enough to hold him.

The Hellhound’s eyes fell on him and it let off another howl, sound waves shooting through the air and heading to him... it’s first priority was killing Rem. Rem didn’t know why, whether it be Monsters or Bosses, they all had their eyes on him.

Drew passed by Rem, proving that the Murderous intent hadn’t affected him as well. He was a seasoned Cavalier so a simple Murderous intent wouldn’t be able to stop him although Rem was more curious at how Drew planned to stop the Sound waves from attacking him... a dome of soul energy formed around Rem and the others shortly after, tanking the attack. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Rem’s eyes widened in surprise, he had probably gotten his skill upon breakthrough. The barrier was an extension of his soul energy and it probably burned a lot of soul energy to maintain such a barrier... the barrier faded shortly after, Drew had already closed in on the boss and pulled out his Magic Iron sword.

"What... are... we... doing?" Krista asked, she had never been under such intense pressure before so she didn’t know how to respond to it.

Cole managed to take a step forward...

Mika was reliving her past trauma...

Rem sighed and released his murderous intent, although he only released an amount enough to counter the Boss’s own. It happened a split second, both murderous intent clashed and canceled out before anyone else could blink.

The Boss lost concentration and looked at Rem again, only for Drew to use this opening to his advantage and slash at the Boss’s legs, his blade made cuts on the tough skin but weren’t able to go through into the flesh... he had already burned through a lot of his reserves creating that barrier.

The Hellhound brought down it’s other foot on Drew but the Cavalier dodged, three vertical marks engraving into the ground where he had been standing before. Soul energy wrapped around his blade and he brought it toward one of the Boss’s hind legs.

’Fuck you!’

Drew thrusted it forward and watched it pierce the Hellhound’s ankle with immense force. The eyes of the Apprentices widened at the next thing that followed...
