Chapter 95: Newbie Raid (Part 2)

Mika faced off the Death Wolf mid-air, her azure soul energy shimmered in the air as the Death wolf came closer – no matter how much she tried to calm herself down, she couldn’t get over the fear of facing a monster for the first time, this wasn’t her first time seeing one but this was certainly her first time attacking one.

The Death wolf snapped it’s fangs at Mika but the girl leaned back, dodging the bite narrowly before retaliating with a punch to the Death Wolf’s face... the punch was packed with so much soul energy that the head had burst open upon impact and the body was flung through the air – smashing against the wall of the dungeon and painting it with blood.

Before Mika could even move, Cole had passed by her – he was using his twin chained blades, each of them radiating with soul energy. Rem could see at a glance that the soul energy was not his own but it didn’t matter, Cole’s superior physical advantage was dominating the battleground.

He had closed the distance between himself and a Death wolf and with one swing of his blade, he decapitated the wolf and raised the other blade up defensively – he blocked a slash from another wolf. Cole landed on the ground only to be engulfed by the Monster’s battle intent carved from battles – it’s murderous intent engulfed Cole and made sure that the boy was unable to move.

The Wolf hadn’t been in that much battles so it’s intent was still weak comparing it to someone who had honed their power and skill through various battles like Rem, Cole didn’t care much of this Murderous intent and cut through it with one swift movement – he had felt much more killing intent from Andar... After cutting through this wolf, Cole moved through the air instantly decapitating two other wolves in the process.

His speed was blurring and Cole was happy about that, he was happy that the training he took with Instructor Maria was helping out – he was able to keep his speed in check and overwhelm his opponents easily.

Three Death wolves moved backward as Krista leapt at them, her arms coated with soul energy which took shape instantly – it took the shape of a sword and Rem was quite surprised.

’A skill, huh?’ Rem thought, all Cavaliers had the opportunity to unlock one and it would increase their combat power by an impressive margin... even Rem hadn’t materialized one yet and he doubted he would, he already had abilities from monsters, who knows how his soul would form a skill exclusive to him? But the ability to turn soul energy into weapons was a good one, it drained a lot from her reserves but it complemented her fighting style well.

With the Soul sword, Krista killed several Death wolves with a single calculated strike, the slash going through their vitals in an instant – the bodies of the wolves fell over and their blood painted the ground below them. Upon seeing that the other monsters were being dealt with, Krista quickly made her weapon vanish although Rem could see the energy disperse and return back into Krista’s soul, awaiting the next use.

Rem looked at Drew and gave the man a short glance – they had made advancements in their power in such a short amount of time, it was more than Rem’s expectations but he didn’t say anything.

’They’re still far too weak,’ Rem thought, ’And hesitant,’

Mika had been hesitant before facing the Death wolf, even if she had a history with Deathwolves, she ought to know that delaying like that in a real battle would cost her life, if the Death wolf had been slightly stronger than her – it could have made short work of her.

Cole didn’t have any problem apart from the fact that he wasn’t being ruthless enough, each slash was filled with soul energy but getting hit by a Murderous intent proved his incompetence – when he had blocked the Wolf mid-air, he could easily had countered and ended the battle as well.

Krista was showing a display of ruthlessness in her battle style and it was fitting of a Beastkin, after killing the deathwolves, Drew tasked everyone with bringing over their cores, the magical stones were one of the most important reasons for the entire journey.

Drew smiled at the Apprentices as he kept all the Magic stones.

"You all did a splendid job," He said, "This was your first time in a dungeon and it looks like you’re already experts at Monster slaying but from this point on, we will face stronger monsters in the dungeon,"

They all nodded in response and set off immediately, crossing the first cavern opening and stepping into a new Cavern – Rem would also have to get active from here on out, the dungeon was a dangerous place no matter the grade and he couldn’t afford to start lacking.

There were never the same number of monsters in a dungeon, the amount diversified on the dungeon – there could be a D-grade dungeon with a hundred monsters.

And as suspected, more monsters started appearing... now it was the basic goblin, Rem knew that everyone would be able to face a goblin, it wasn’t strong. The real problems were the Death wolves, they had a lot of numbers and attacked in groups, he needed to diminish their forces.

The goblins were coming slowly and each Apprentice quickly began manifesting their soul energy – it was going to be a long gruesome fight ahead.
