The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 91: Declined Negotiation

Rem hadn’t even finished his tea and he found himself being hoisted unto Mark’s shoulder before vanishing abruptly – he had sensed the Soul energy of the Cavalier but like the others, he thought that the leader was here to have a drink and calm his insides down but he couldn’t be more wrong, Rem felt himself traveling at a fast pace to Orion town and although he could move like this himself, there was still a certain stillness at being carried.

"Well looks like Captain ruined the fun," Ruby said and sipped more of her Sake, it was getting intoxicating, "I wanted to start getting to know Rem more,"

It wasn’t a far shot to say that she was interested in Rem – but that left a question, who wouldn’t be? His abilities far surpassed that of any Cavalier ages older than him although his current strength couldn’t be compared to the Captain nor the Mayor but Rem might have something similar in the near future.

Henry chuckled at Ruby’s words.

"You wanted to ask an underage out?" Henry bellowed in laughter, Ruby’s cheeks turned red from embarrassment but she didn’t condone his words. The Healer was silent through all of this, she devoured her bread and juice and was now waiting for the Waiter to bring more... she couldn’t help herself, the delicacy was really something else.

Mark appeared in the dining room again and dropped Rem down, Tony had finished narrating the tale and sat. When everyone saw Rem, their gazes instantly fell on him – his growth was evident, he was different from before he set out of the Mansion, Rem had grown absolutely stronger through all the fighting and he had also managed to increase his soul energy reserves by quite a bit, this showed why Mark wanted him very much... although Rem had not even showed his full capabilities, he was still hiding his power.

Rem was quickly beckoned to take a seat and once he did, Drew started talking.

"Mark said you had quite an enjoyable raid with him," Drew said and Rem nodded, "And he also wants to buy you from the mansion, is that what you want?"

Rem had always been curious about how the Top student of last year left but now that he heard buying, he was thoroughly uninterested – his curiosity had been sated, there was no way he was agreeing to join Mark’s party permanently, Rem saw no reason to it... even if he didn’t know of the benefits that Mark’s party offered, Rem had to doubt that Mark had a mansion and trained his own students.

"No, I don’t see the point," Rem said and before Mark could say anything, the Apprentice raised a hand, "I don’t what to know the kind of resources you are going to give me to assist me in my growth, or the kind of weapons you are going to promise me, I refuse to leave this place because my end of the bargain has not been fulfilled,"

Hearing that, Drew’s gaze calmed down and he started smiling – the bargain was that he would run away or leave if he was treated poorly and Rem as well as the other Apprentices had not been treated poorly in anyway so there was no reason for him to leave.

Mark sighed in defeat and signaled to Tony.

"Feel free to raid with us again," Mark said with a smile, "We’re expecting you,"

It was clear that Mark felt bitter but he didn’t want to overstay his welcome and hastily made his way outside – Rem instantly started getting a feel for everyone’s strength, he was gauging their effectiveness in a battle.

’Drew is no longer a D-rank, he’s now on the level of a C-rank,’ Rem thought which didn’t sound like big news since he could go toe-to-toe with a peak B-rank but for someone like Drew with no Monster Monarch System and no ability to absorb monster souls to grow stronger – it was really amazing.

Instructor Maybel and Maria seemed to have grown stronger as well, of course there were other instructors in the building like Martinez, Violet and the others but their growth in strength simply didn’t reach the level of these two teachers, their increases were massive especially in Maria... her soul energy didn’t even feel the same anymore, it was radiating with little amounts of killing intent.

"How has raiding been?" Drew asked, seeing the others would not talk.

Rem shrugged.

"It’s been going okay at least," Rem said while suddenly craving the tea in Reifall, "The month’s break is not over, is it?"

"No," Drew said with a small laugh, "There’s still a lot of time, in fact, I think I’ll take the others raiding in Reifall since I’m around now,"

He had gone on a training journey by the time Tobi attacked, it seemed that he had finally decided to stop cowering behind his Apprentices and get the job done.

"If you’re around there, you can give me a heads-up in the GUILD," Rem said while standing up, "I’ll be there usually in the morning times, using my identification as Apprentice to link up with other parties and go on Raids with them,"

Drew nodded.

"Although if you’re coming to Reifall, you should buy some camping equipment," Rem advised and left, causing Mika to puff her cheeks in annoyance.

’He didn’t even bat his eye in my direction once,’ Mika thought.

Once Rem got outside the towering gates, the first thing he did was head in the direction of his inn – he usually went to Reifall in the morning and came back during the evening times after a good raid, even though he desired a cup of steaming tea from Reifall town, he would have to wait until tomorrow morning.

Rem opened the door of his inn and sighed contentedly, before stepping in and closing the door right behind him. He always felt a bit tired after a day of raiding and he ultimately decided to check the new skill he got from the Sand Golem when he woke up.
