Chapter 86: Monster Jumping (Part 2)

’These monsters have been defeated as well,’ Rem thought, the Sandwolves weren’t strong but what they lacked in strength, they made up for in numbers... Very annoying creatures.

"At least not many people were hurt," Rem muttered under his breath as he observed the party – the people were the least of his worries but people had their gazes on him, he had to act like the lives actually meant something to him.

’The other Cavaliers are weak,’ Rem thought observing everyone, ’Maybe that Blue haired Cavalier is strong, he’s keeping the full extent of his abilities under wraps but that Murderous intent, seems like he has the Murderous intent skill,’

Unlike Rem that got the skill from a Death wolf, the skill was pretty basic... allowing humans to extend their inner intent to kill outwards, the more dangerous situations that they had been in, the more Murderous intent they were able to extend.

In Rem’s case, the more monsters he absorbed, he gained a fraction of their Murderous intent... every monster had murderous intent, well except the harmless Slimeballs but they were just balls of slime, they were unable to expend murderous intent... He had absorbed over a hundred monsters at this point in time so the amount of terror he could unleash by releasing his Murderous intent was intense.

Even in his battle against Walter, he hadn’t released all of it and Walter was already scared of him.

’But even his Murderous intent isn’t that strong,’ Rem thought suddenly remembering where he saw this boy... A portrait in the dining room, yes, a portrait of this boy was on the walls of the dining room, the top graduating student of last year.

Mark touched Rem’s shoulder.

"The speed you were moving at far surpassed what you showed me at the test," Mark said and chuckled, "You’re an expert at concealing your true power,"

"But don’t worry, we don’t spill what happens in the dungeon," Mark said and let go, "It’ll soon be night time, we need to find a place to camp out,"

There were going to be people deployed on the watch, probably two at a time and they were going to rest for a total of eight hours, meaning everyone would get a rest of two hours before they deployed once again.

Rem knew that the slime would be active at this time, it might already be working too.

A slimy version of Rem dashed through the dungeon, following behind it were several Drodlings moving underground – finding solace in chasing down their weak prey.

’I can’t believe there was this many,’ The slime thought while pulling to a halt and watching the monsters emerge from the ground around it, they were weaker Drodlings that didn’t dare to appear earlier or they would have gotten killed against Mark and his party.

The slime sighed, several magical stones revolving in his stomach area – slimes didn’t have a digestive system after all so anything they stored within their bodies would be on display. He had Rem’s intelligence but couldn’t utilize Rem’s exclusive skills, but being a slime with intelligence was already overpowered on it’s own.

The Drodlings circled around it but it didn’t break a sweat, instead pores began forming at it’s back... extending forth as tendrils which shot through the air and stabbed into the skin of the first Drodling.

"Aim for the knees and arms," The slime repeated the solution and extended several tendrils from it’s back, slicing away at it’s knees and arms in an instant while penetrating and retrieving the magic stone from the heart.

The other Drodlings expressed their surprise at this discovery, the predator had become the prey... Drodlings had a little bit of intelligence, they knew that they couldn’t win against the slime and so they proceeded to try and burrow intothe ground. They were the kind of monsters that had confidence in numbers and they were only 4, against a monster that could kill one of them in a span of seconds with minimal effort, they didn’t believe they could win.

"Where are you all going?" The slime asked as multiple tendrils shot toward the other Drodlings, "We haven’t had fun yet,"

The other Drodlings were instantly killed by the slime and then tendrils retrieved their magical stones, which the slime shoved in it’s mouth and stored in it’s stomach.

"Easy kills," It muttered and suddenly dust began to pervade the surroundings, several souls gathered and projected forth as Dust Wolves, each of them coming for the slime who sighed, "This is really getting out of hand,"

More tendrils shot from the slime’s body, each going for the Sandwolves... When Rem had split his consciousness into this slime, he had made sure to give it sufficient magical energy, one that would be enough for it to complete it’s goals.

Rem and the Blue haired Cavalier were on guard duty, there had been quite a few monsters who had been killed by the people deployed on earlier shifts. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"You’re the one that works with the GUILD, right?" Rem asked, "As a reporter, there must always be one person and you’re him,"

The Blue haired Cavalier, Tony was silent through it all... he just folded his hands and stared blankly at the rocky ceiling of the dungeon.

"And so what if I am?" He asked, challengingly.

"Nothing," Rem replied with a shrug, "I won’t do anything but mind keeping your gazes to yourself, I don’t like when others keep staring at me,"

"Okay," Tony said.

"But there’s something else, I see your portrait in the Dining room of the mansion," Rem said, wanting to confirm his thoughts, "Top-ranking student of last year,"

"Yes, I am him," Tony said, "It’s because of my age that Master Drew found it suitable idea to have 14-15 year olds as apprentices, Any age higher and they start having perverted thoughts,"

Rem nodded although he didn’t know what that meant.

"I see," Rem said and suddenly a dust blew over the camp, "Monsters,"

Sandwolves emerged from the dust and both warriors gripped their weapons, the numbers were against them but their determination and confidence... they were on a whole different level.
