Chapter 85: Monster Jumping (Part 1)

The Magic stones from the Drodlings rained down and the party collapsed on the ground, with the exception of some stronger people of course – the Healer knew of her job, the Drodlings had come by surprise and she had to heal the injured members of the party.

She glanced at Rem, he leaned against the wall without any wounds on his body.

’Is that really what an Apprentice from that mansion is capable of?’ She thought, ’He’s very strong and I have a feeling that he has yet to even push his body to the limit,’

Mark also looked at Rem with surprised eyes – he had seen a fair share of Apprentices from Drew’s mansion, there was even one of them currently in the party... his eyes flickered to an unharmed blue-haired Cavalier, he was just slightly older than Rem and certainly powerful but his potential and talent simply didn’t reach that of Rem.

He looked exhausted after battling with a few Drodlings while Rem had faced an even higher amount of Drodlings and killed them with relative ease.

’Imagine the difference between the Top students of that mansion,’ Mark thought with a chuckle, ’I’ll pay a visit after this raid,’

While the Healer was invested in healing the injured, Rem felt he was being watched... he made a slight movement and the feeling disappeared abruptly.

’So the person is watching me,’ Rem thought, ’Just in case I take Magical stones, sadly for him, I had a plan in session,’

It would take some magical energy to pull it off but he wanted to know if he could split his consciousness into a slime that he created, and he found out that it was possible... which meant the cost of Magical energy was high but he could create clones of himself similar to slimes, of course, this wasn’t under the uses of the slime ability but as a result of experimentation.

"Let’s move," Mark said shortly after, A Blue haired Cavalier that Rem didn’t recognize and the Redhead sucked all the Magic stones into a Storage ring – a magical item which held space within itself, it was the perfect containment item and as long as the ring wasn’t lost, they wouldn’t lose their items. The ring was given to Mark after all the Magic stones had been stored inside, each of them accounted for including the monsters that Rem killed.

Soon the party continued on their path, it was a C-grade dungeon and one with powerful ground monsters here so nobody expected it to be over within a single day, they would have to camp out at some point too to kill a great amount of monsters as well as find the location to the Boss room.

As the group continued, people chatted with each other but they kept their guards up, playful banter was in the air but Rem stayed excluded from it all, he didn’t want to be a part of it ... he was far behind in the group, looking for an opportunity to eject a slime which they could not see, it would stay behind them for now but when they camped and slept, the slime would be awake and killing as much monsters as possible.

Drodlings which were supposedly the main monster here, were drawn to weaker humans and monsters which was why they would hardly attack the group – it was full of strong people and therefore only stronger Drodlings would attack them, Rem didn’t have a problem with the group not making significant catches in the morning because he was assured that the slime would be able to bring more kills.

The path was silent throughout, there were no Drodlings popping out but that didn’t matter to Raiders – another monster lurked in the surroundings and Rem was picking it up. A Monster suddenly emerged from the dusty ground, it’s figure reminiscent of a Death wolf but Rem knew better, it had been formed of the sand itself and this one was heading right for him, in fact, it was already behind him.

"Rem!" The crimson haired man cried out and prepared to rush toward the monster but Rem only spun around and slashed the wolf diagonally, causing it to turn in half.

"Yes?" Rem asked while staring at the Cavalier nonchalantly, the crimson haired Cavalier took a step back but there was no more time – they were being attacked, more and more monsters formed from the sand and leapt toward every member in the party, showing how annoying the dungeon was... they were being jumped for another time today.

After Rem completely absorbed the soul of the Monster, he had gained a new skill.

[You have gained Unique Skill: Dust Movement]

It was similar to what the Monsters did, they had sneaked up on the Dungeon raiders by moving through the dust and attacking their opponents after emerging which was a very suitable tactic for assassins.

Rem leapt back and dodged a claw strike from another one, in this battle, everyone had to get involved, Rem couldn’t feel any gazes on him – everyone was focused on their own battle which gave Rem the opportunity to do what he wanted to. After slashing down the Sandwolf that attacked him, Rem sent a blob of slime propelling through the air and further down the path where they had been – the slime’s presence was little and hard to notice but that wasn’t the problem, by splitting his consciousness, Rem was having a slight headache.

Rem gripped the sword and zipped through the air at a higher speed than what he had portrayed, decapitating monsters in one fell swoop. The monsters were overwhelming the weaker forces and Rem killed the monsters, this was the only way he could increase his worth in the eyes of the Captain...

’They ought to be using Soul enforcement and not only depending on their armors,’ Rem thought as he slaughtered two other monsters yet again – this was getting recurring but he could see their numbers thinning down.

Rem cocked his head to the right and locked eyes with a Blue haired Cavalier who was fighting off two monsters, giving off a treacherous amount of murderous intent... there was something similar about him, he felt like he had seen this boy before but Rem couldn’t remember where.

’He isn’t that dangerous,’ Rem thought while ignoring the boy shortly after and focusing on the monsters.
