Chapter 75: Inexperienced Adventurers

The inexperience made Rem tremble slightly, even he knew not to use resources this much especially humans – everything had a limit and regular humans reached theirs easily but that didn’t matter to him, he stood there with an unwavering gaze, their deaths would bring about more souls for him to harvest.

The Healer refused to comply with the order, his hands drawn back as he threw a glare at the Cavalier who momentarily let his guard down, letting a Death wolf aim right at his head but another Cavalier, one with crimson hair stabbed forward and decapitated the wolf with a single strike filled with soul energy.

"Don’t let your guard down," the crimson haired Cavalier said as he looked at the two other Death Wolves with hatred visible in his eyes, "Let the Healer recuperate instead of wasting unnecessary magical energy in healing you,"

Before the two could continue bantering, the second Death Wolf shot forward, heading right for the Brown haired Cavalier. The Death wolf closed the distance between them and extended it’s claws forward, they collided with the magic iron sword that the Cavalier wielded sending him skidding backward.

"Simon, Look out!" The Magus cried and the blond haired Cavalier nodded, leaping backward in a nick of time as water began wrapping around the Death wolf, bounding the beast with effort – Rem could see that it was a simple spell for restriction but it required an insane amount of magic to maintain, besides Water magic wasn’t much suited for him, even though it was versatile, it wasn’t as powerful as the other forms of magic and was mostly used for other styles of combat.

A water mage clearly didn’t make it far which was why there was no such thing as a Water Monarch... the name itself sounded funny.

The Blond haired Cavalier decapitated the second Death wolf and made a quick side-step to the right, dodging the third one instantly. Rem saw that this one had a lot of talent and was also very experienced but his current strength posed no threat to Rem. Even if everyone here combined their powers, they wouldn’t be able to make a scratch.

Sweat ran down Rem’s forehead.

’Some months ago, even I wouldn’t have thought I reached such a point,’ Rem thought.

The Brown haired Cavalier leapt forward, his sword gleaming with a little amount of soul energy – the soul energy barely managed to cover the sword but he was able to slash through the Death wolf’s nape and decapitate it easily.

’Maybe he isn’t as potential-less as I thought,’ Rem thought and sighed, they barely managed to defeat Death Wolves, how were they planning to defeat a powerful Boss which had achieved a great level of sapience? Even Rem knew that it was a useless battle for them, unless they managed to heighten their teamwork, even with a healer, they would be killed off by the next waves of Monsters.

Rem saw the blond Cavalier kneel and gather the Magic stones before putting them in a sack in the Healer’s back.

’Oh so not only are they keeping their stones in a sack,’ Rem thought, ’It’s with the most weakest person in the entire group – smart option,’

"Thanks for the help," The Cavalier thanked, "We won’t have been able to make it so far without you,"

"Let’s rest here!" The Blond cavalier cried out and the party fell to their knees, clearly exhausted.

’He’s the Captain,’ Rem thought as he observed the man – he was not a bulky Cavalier like Drew but with a rather slim athletic build but Rem couldn’t refute his power and technique with the sword.

The Blond cavalier immediately took the sack from the Healer, letting the Healer lean against a pillar to recuperate his strength.

"I told you to fucking heal me," The Brown haired Cavalier said while throwing a hateful glare at the younger man, "You only have one job and you can’t even do it properly,"

The Healer took in deep breaths, the veins on both his forehead and neck gradually subsiding.

"You haven’t suffered any injury that’ll leave you crippled," He said in his defense, "It would be a waste of my magic to heal you,"

Inner controversies were the best way to kill teamwork yet the Captain was just kneeling and pouring out the contents in the sack – there were magical stones which they had gotten from the monsters that they had encountered up until this moment, the Captain rummaged through the contents on the ground and threw water bottles at everybody in the party.

"Thankfully Mira is an able water mage," He said, "As long as there’s even a drop of water in your can, she can fill it to the brim for you,"

Rem noticed that the man was calm and collected, he was perfectly confident in surviving whatever the Dungeon threw at them and Rem could only sigh silently, he wouldn’t regret robbing this group of all their valuables – the world had always been a hard place and anything was possible, one had to be prepared at all times.

’8 Magic stones,’ Rem thought, ’They haven’t made a decent enough haul but surely by the time they reach the end of the dungeon, they would have about 20 – 25, and if they miss any Monsters on their way to the boss, I can kill them and take the stones,’

It was pretty stressful, he could just kill the humans and go ahead to solo the boss but two Captains were looking for him, he couldn’t afford to take any chances.

After going through the things inside the sack and stocking it back up, he brought out a small knife and started peeling the fur off the Death Wolves... Some monsters were edible, monsters like Death wolves were eaten on a regular basis by Adventurers so it wasn’t a new thing.

"Mira and Saul, scout back and bring the dead bodies of the monsters that you see here," The Cavalier said while flashing both of them a smile, "We’ll cook them and eat,"

Both raiders nodded at their Captain’s words and left shortly after, heading in Rem’s direction...
