The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 72: Disappearing Gates
The Channeler captain quickly ran to the scene, her eyes gleaming with urgency as she saw the empty space where a dungeon gate had once resided... she gritted her teeth and stared at it in wonder.
’No magus or teams were supposed to head here,’ She thought – this could only mean one thing, a team of Raiders were violating the laws that she had strictly set down and were raiding dungeons.
’If they had any sense, they would have fled the town by now,’ The captain thought while briefly looking around for any traces – she couldn’t find any but it was clear.
’We didn’t take much time to get here,’ She thought, ’So they must be around here somewhere,’
Rem quickly slowed down, his plan had worked and he had successfully diverted their attention away from the other Dungeons. Rem leapt off the last building and landed on the ground, he found himself right in front of a D-grade dungeon gate.
’Someone’s nearby,’ Rem thought in alarm as he leapt out of the way and into the large wreckage of a building – effectively concealing his figure within the debris and he did it just in time as two burly Cavaliers made their way into sight, their palms holding their swords tightly.
"The Magus captain, she’s hot isn’t she?" The first one said and suddenly leaned against the debris where Rem was hiding. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"Yes she is," The second one replied, standing still and halting his patrol, "But she’s a serious one, can’t she just let loose sometimes?"
They continued chatting about the Captain and after surveying the surroundings for a short while, they left to continue with their patrol. By their description, She seemed like a hotheaded leader who was bound to make a mistake.
’Those kind of people are easy to manipulate,’ Rem thought while leaving his hiding spot and entering the dungeon once again – he only hoped that there wouldn’t be slimes in this dungeon...
Reality warped around the Apprentice and he soon found himself in a wide grassland, a white sun glowed menacingly in the sky and Rem immediately began sweating.
’It’s hot,’ Rem thought while wiping the sweat from his forehead.
The white sun revolving in the sky seemed to generate more heat than what Rem was accustomed to causing sweat to profusely run down his skin pores, drenching his clothing but Rem nonchalantly began walking forward. He was surrounded by a thick forest, vines, shrubs, tall menacing trees – this was a dangerous position for him as the Monsters could easily use the terrain to their advantage and sneak up on him... at least it would have been possible if their name tags didn’t appear over their heads when they tried to come close to him.
’Venomonkey, D-grade’
Rem could see several tags like these, each of them bouncing around the trees and the bushes trying to make the Apprentice dizzy but Rem’s gaze was steadfast and focused, the blade formed around his palm with a burst of soul energy and he raised it to his side just in time, a Venomonkey shot through the air and arrived at his side.
A Venomonkey like the name implied was a powerful monster semblant of a monkey, except that it’s palms had small sacks in them which was able to store a large amount of deadly venom. This venom was quickly expelled whenever a Venomonkey was able to touch their prey and the reason this was such a fearsome opponent was because the venom filtered right through the sweat pores and entered the bloodstream...
Rem slashed at the Venomonkey but it was faster than the Apprentice had thought, the Monster was able to dodge his quick strike by pushing off Rem’s body with it’s tail.
’They’re sapient,’ Rem thought with a slight grimace as the monster landed in the bush and another one came for him from behind. It’s palm touched Rem’s back but the boy made sure to cover his back with slime which meant the poison did not affect him.
Rem spun around and decapitated the Venomonkey with one swift strike, cutting it through the head. Crimson blood painted the ground and Rem focused on the others who continued leaping through the trees and shrubbery in an attempt to confuse him... Rem leaned out of the way and another Venomonkey propelled through the air, landing in front of him only to get cut down by Rem’s soul sickle, the other monsters followed up but Rem kept killing them with dept precision in every strike.

After over 20 minutes of attempting to find the people that had invaded the dungeon and cleared it without official permission – the Captain sensed another one vanishing again. Her eyes widened in surprise and annoyance was visible on her face.
"We got played!" She exclaimed to the Cavaliers that were still looking around the Neighboring buildings for the perpetrators, "They went for another one! Three of you stay here!"
Her cries got the attention of other Cavaliers and they raced after her leaving three behind, they struggled to keep up with the speed of a Magus Captain – they even ran past the site where the dead people were being filled into the hole.
’I see,’ The Captain thought as they found themselves amidst another empty space where a dungeon gate once existed, ’So when they alarmed us to the first one, they were going for another one as well instead of hiding in the vicinity or escaping the town as quick as possible,’
’Whoever leading this party is really smart,’ The Captain thought, ’They might go for a third one today but we already left three Cavaliers behind so they probably won’t be able to go back to that point,’
Then she blinked.
’Wait, why couldn’t I sense their presences?’ She thought, she hadn’t sensed any presences of magical or soul energy – either what was clearing this dungeons weren’t humans or the humans were skilled at suppressing their energy, whichever one, The Captain wouldn’t allow them enter another dungeon again.
