The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 52: Cole’s Awakening (Part 2)
Cole found his way to his Aunt’s place, his lips pressed against each other in unison as he observed the dead body of his aunt – pressed against the counter of her kitchen. Megan had not even come close to this place but there were two things the Apprentice noticed ; The first one being that he was able to move faster than ever while expending as little energy and stamina as possible, his entire body had not only become more powerful but it had become more all-rounded as well. The second one was that the gashes had changed, of course there could be an excuse that the killer had changed the gashes up but that was impossible... both gashes were done by a different weapon.
If Cole had learned anything in this life while being Soulless, it was about weapons – just because he decided to use a chained weapon didn’t mean that he was limiting himself, he was actually more well-versed with this one more than any because it increased the range he could cover and also he could defend more freely. The blade used to make the gashes he had seen before and the one’s he was witnessing now were immensely different and even at a glance, he could see that.
Cole didn’t even move a muscle after observing her dead body, he had already come to terms with the fact that he couldn’t save them and the only thing he could do was fight. As he left the house, he sighted a weapon left on the ground... blood stained the weapon but nevertheless he picked it up and gloriously admired it’s figure.
’Soul Pistol,’ Cole thought while admiring it’s shape – it had a trigger which was used to shoot forward a bullet made of magical steel with the force of Soul energy. The Apprentice pocketed it and continued moving out of the house.
’That means there are two killers,’ Cole thought while folding his arms and stepping out of his house – his eyes suddenly locking onto two figures that shot brilliantly through the air, if he had even a bit of soul energy, they would have been able to notice him but he didn’t have a fraction of it so they ignored him, they couldn’t even feel his presence. Cole chuckled inwardly – people ought to not only use their ability to sense but their eyes to see, he could still remember that there was only one person he could battle with that would pull up his guard nevertheless of the fact that he didn’t have soul energy... Rem, the 14-year old boy was just that cautious and his punches hurt but Cole admired his tenacity, Rem was after all the only reason himself and the others were still alive up until now.
Cole leapt through the air, landing onto the railing of a tall building and begun sprinting after them silently, hoping to see where they were heading. They stopped at the town square, kneeling to some sort of being which stood next to his sister but the boy kept his emotions in check, he was quite a bit surprised, he didn’t feel anything almost even though his sister was being tied up – all of his emotions, they were being drained into a black void and there was nothing he could do to stop it. Seeing that the duo were about to rise up, Cole grabbed ahold of the Soul Pistol and pulled on the trigger without hesitation, a bullet piercing forward at the instant he pushed on the trigger, it engraved itself within the skull of one of the Murderer’s, the demon falling backward and onto the pavement – a pool of blood covering it’s figure.
Cole noticed that the boy who stood next to his sister – the seeming leader of them all, looked very similar to Tobi... he could still remember those crude horns, jagged and black on Tobi’s forehead. Upon seeing the boy’s gaze fall upon his body, Cole couldn’t help but grin.

’There is no energy existing within his body,’ The boy, Andar thought. He was a little bit surprised but nevertheless, he quickly pushed past the surprise – this young man, with the crimson hair and crimson eyes and a murderous smirk on his face... he was the reason why Andar was getting chills. The irregularities of his body – the immense physical energy, an aura of combat seemed to wrap around him as he gripped the gun – years of experience emanated from his body.
Cole walked forward, his eyes never left that of the boy. Even as he neared the edge of the roof he was walking to, Cole didn’t utter a word but kept his gaze on the demon – his legs soon fell off the edge but his body disappeared.
"Don’t utter a word," Cole said, his voice cold as he pointed the cold hard tip of the gun against the demon’s head – Andar shivered a lot more, his heart pace increasing with each passing moment, he couldn’t even follow Tobi’s movements.
Megan stared at her brother’s back, something about him seemed changed... nobody other than the other half-demon could witness his facial expression, a crazy grin stuck to his face.
"Don’t take a step clos-!" The halfling said but his words were cut short as a bang echoed through the air, the bullet rippling through the air and stabbing into his brain – he staggered backward and fell off the roof, turning into a bloody pulp.
Andar whipped around, throwing a punch at Cole only for the Apprentice to block it, his body skidding backward a bit under the force laced behind the punch but he was unharmed.
’H- how?’
Andar’s question was left unanswered as Cole quickly closed the distance between them and threw a kick right at his chin – Andar raised his left hand up and blocked it, his kick had sent Cole skidding backward on the roof but Cole’s kick... it had sent him shooting through a building, slamming into the ground, the wind had been knocked out of him.
’I’m a demon,’ Andar thought in alarm as he rolled his body to the right, just in time as Cole descended with a kick – strong enough to create a crater on the spot where the kick landed, ’So why?’
Andar steadied himself and Cole threw a punch at his face, the devil barely managed to lean out of the way but he had failed to register that the punch had just been fine tuned to his speed and Cole’s free fist was heading to his stomach at an alarming rate, he couldn’t keep up...
’Why? Why? Why!!’
