The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 50: Unique Title: Soul Hunter (Part 2)
A Carriage was already arranged for him and it waited outside the gate – Tobi was grateful to the Instructors for helping him out with this and with a smile, he grabbed his bag and waved them goodbye before rushing toward the gate guards. They didn’t waste any time in opening the gates wide enough for Cole to go through and he gave them each a grateful nod, he was in a good mood. Cole entered the carriage and it started up, slowly but surely, wheeling away from the Mansion.

The moon was high in the sky, Rem folded his arms as he stood outside the home of dead spirits – the Graveyard, just by standing outside the graveyard, he sensed a great amount of spiritual activity from within the Graveyard.
"I was right," Rem said as a sudden wind blew his hair backward – the darkness concealed his face as he leapt to the right and avoided a burst of magical energy, whizzing past him and hitting a large rock in the graveyard. The rock exploded into bits and Rem observed what kind of magic that was.
Rem steadied himself and stared at the two magus which stood to oppose him.
"You enter the graveyard with ill intentions, and you shall be punished," One of them said, they both wore a decorative cloak which melded perfectly with the shadows and their kind of magic might be a problem for Rem... nevertheless, he pulled up the hood of his tracksuit and pushed his body forward, heading toward both Magus with a burst of speed.
"Oli, hinder his movements while I cast the spell," The Second Magus said as he began muttering a chant, bright blue energy vibrated around his palms. The first Magus turned to face Rem, only to realize that the boy had vanished.
"Where did he go?" The Magus wondered as he immediately pulled his guard up but it proved futile as Rem appeared behind the Magus instantly and whipped his fist around, The Magus gritted his teeth as Rem’s fist collided with his back.
But the punch wasn’t alone... black sparks of lightning roared around Rem’s fist, surging through the Magus’s entire being as Rem landed a Convergence, sending the Magus sailing through the air and his back smashing into a wall. Rem didn’t stop though, he raised a single finger upward and gathered magical energy within it... pointing it at the Magus and letting the attack zip through the air, the Magus was unable to react and the beam went right through his skull, painting the wall in crimson blood.
The System notification popped up before him – and he knew once the System appeared in front of him, it always presented an opportunity to grow stronger.
...
[Would you like to absorb ’Channeler’ Soul?]
[Yes / No]
...
Rem clicked on the Yes button and began walking toward the other Magus, desperately gathering enough energy to fire off his spell – he breathed in and out, continuing his chant despite how grim it looked. He caught sight of Rem’s face, he was just a kid yet he killed the other Magus like it was nothing...
...
[’Channeler’ soul has been successfully absorbed]
[You have gained 15 MAG points]
...
The Magus felt Rem’s presence change, growing even more stronger with each passing moment – there was something dangerous with this boy and the Channeler Magus couldn’t wrap his head around it but there was one thing that he needed to do, fire off his spell.
"Let the swirling power of light overflow and strike down my enemy with a hundred times more force, Light Orb!" The Magus cried out at the top of his lungs and thrusted the orb forward, it pushed through the air in a blur of speed, heading right toward Rem.
The Magus teared up as he sighted the wall flooded with the crimson blood of his partner, this was not a kid... it was a Monster, anything capable of taking human life without any sort of remorse was not human.
Rem sighted the spell coming at him but he didn’t stop walking, the ground rippled beneath him and the gigantic figure of the Death Wolf boss appeared before him, taking the damage from the orb... Before the Magus’s very eyes, The Monster then vanished... he couldn’t believe his eyes, what was happening here?
Rem appeared in front of him, gripping his shortsword with precision and power while shrouding it with soul energy – the sword shot forward and impaled the Magus in the neck, the Channeler was surprised and took a step back to stabilize himself but it didn’t matter. Rem flooded the weapon with soul energy and the Magus was soon smashed against the ground, his eyes had long-since lost their glow and was replaced with a dead lifeless gaze.

The same tab appeared in front of Rem’s eyes, he pulled his shortsword back and waved it in the air, splashing the blood on the ground before sheathing it.
"They’re dead," Rem muttered under his breath as he tapped on the Yes button and absorbed the other Channeler, gaining 20 points of Magic this time which was a significant upgrade from the other one. Despite taking two human lives, he didn’t feel any different.
’The Souls are shaken,’ Rem thought while kneeling over and taking off the dark cloak that this Magus was wearing – he needed something like this, a dark cloak which would billow in the wind spreading fear to each and every person that dared to oppose him. a sign of his power. The wind blew heavily as the skies rumbled, Rem wore the cloak and pulled the hood on as he stepped into the graveyard without any resistance holding him back.
Upon taking a step into the graveyard, souls already emerged from every corner of the Graveyard – each of them ready to confront him head-on but Rem stood emotionless, green aura surrounded his entire body as Rem uttered a single word, a single word that caused the Graveyard to rattle as Magical energy pervaded the air, green aura leaked into the air in preparation for that order – an order that came from a superior power to his subordinates, the souls were getting closer now and Rem’s eyes only widened, magical energy surrounding his very eyes as he gulped.
"Rise,"
Monsters emerged from the ground, each of them wrapped with green magical energy – Goblins, Death Wolves, Hellhounds, every monster that Rem had encountered lay in his army and for tonight, they were ready to rain hell upon the souls in the Graveyard.
"No soul survives today," Rem’s orders were clear and were to be executed.

The Carriage pulled to a stop some distance away from the Town and Cole got out, it was already night now but if he ran fast enough – he could make it in some minutes. Cole began sprinting quickly, each step he took made him get more nervous, something was out of place. The lively atmosphere of the town which he was supposed to see from the distance had vanished – there was only darkness in it’s place.
It took Cole some minutes to get to the town but once he got there, he was surprised to see what the town had become – flames engulfed buildings, the roads destroyed... his eyes widened as he saw the corpses which painted the ground.
"M- mister Tayo," Cole recognized while rushing to the man’s side, turning his body over to see an ugly deep gash on the Man’s stomach – his body was cold, he had already been stripped of his life. Cole stared at the corpses that painted the ground, the buildings destroyed... flames burning, everything seemed so dark right now but he could only think about one thing as he let the man down and instantly began running in the direction of his house, he could only hope that they were alright. With each passing moment, with each moment he grew nearer to the house – he forced himself to believe that his family was alright, despite the corpses that littered the street, his family was alright, they had to be.
Upon getting to his house, Cole found a heartbreaking corpse – his body trembled as he saw his father lay across the ground, his body had been cut in half and his organs were right there on display but not only that – his body looked like it was tortured before he died, his left arm was missing as well.
Cole shuddered and kicked open the door of his house, searching on the inside but the disaster had spread inside as well – his mother lay strewn across the ground, the same ugly gash he had seen on Mr. Tayo on her stomach. His head twisted and turned, madness threatening to take over as he gnashed his teeth together – saliva dripping down his mouth, something stirred within his body... Cole grabbed his head and groaned, his soul seemed to be vibrating – but there was no soul energy emerging from it, instead something more... something beyond the depths of human imagination... His muscles vibrated, his entire body shook – it had been so long. It has been so long since he felt this kind of power.
