The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 46: Evaluation Test (Part 7)
Cynthia entered the Mayor’s office, shutting the door quickly behind her.
"How did the test go?" The Mayor asked.
"It went fine, Soulless still failed yet again – he’s really disappointing," Cynthia replied only for the Mayor to raise a finger to his lip, telling her to keep quiet.
"I can’t blame him, it’s not his fault," The Mayor said, "If you were born without soul energy which is a basic requirement for a Cavalier – you wouldn’t be saying the same,"
"I admire that boy because despite the odds being against him, he still stands up and rises to the challenge," The Mayor said, "Despite having no soul energy, he doesn’t give up and strives to become better, you must never despise someone till you put yourselves in their shoes,"
Cynthia puffed her cheeks but the Mayor continued his chat.
"What about Rem?" He asked, noticing Cynthia’s cheeks deflate and a shiver run down her spine, "I’ve never seen such a reaction from you,"
"After watching his other friends fall, he quickly predicted everything that was going to happen and devised the best strategy to counter me, destroying each and every marble," Cynthia said while placing her hands on her hips, "One would think that he just dodged the marbles in the beginning for fun but he truly began dodging them so that they would gain enough momentum for an easy smash,"
The Mayor’s eyebrows rose slowly in seeming surprise, but then again, he had expected Rem to do it like this – the boy’s report was certainly correct.
"If I were to describe Rem in one word, it would be a Monster," Cynthia said.
"He’s perfect for you," The blond Cavalier said while resting his back against the chair, "Besides I know you are already curious about him,"
Cynthia didn’t say anything, she just stood in place and gritted her teeth.
"You know me so well? But really, Rem as a husband?" Cynthia asked, "We don’t match besides I’m two years older than him,"
"Age is just a number," The Mayor shot back, "although I trust you’ll do your own fair share of research on him,"
"Yes," Cynthia said, "But he said something about you carrying him like a sack of yams, what’s that about?"
The Mayor, Walker chuckled and smiled at the girl.
"It’s something between us," Walker said and dismissed the girl.

"So let me get this straight... The evaluation test is actually given to anyone who has passed the Apprentice tournament," Rem said, Mika widened her eyes in surprise a bit – she still couldn’t believe Rem was actually being active in dinner conversations, but Rem had different thoughts.
Cole nodded slowly.
"Since you’ve taken the Evaluation test before, that means you passed the tournament," Rem said, he wanted to hear it from Cole’s perspective.
"Not exactly," Cole said while rubbing the back of his head shyly, "Instructor Cynthia gave me a personal pass to check the extent of my physical abilities and were disappointed with them,"
Rem was quiet, he kept eating his food – he already knew what had happened.
"But you beat her though, so be warned... she might be watching you now," Cole said.
"That girl looks just like a stalker to me," Mika muttered while clenching her teeth – she could never forgive Cynthia for kicking her to the side, like she was some piece of trash. That feeling stuck to her and Mika was not forgetting it for a LONG time, she would assuredly get her revenge.
Rem dropped his plate on the table and went upstairs, leaving them behind... he was going to learn how to control his new Demonic Shapeshifter.
Rem reached his room quickly and shut the door behind him as he entered, settling down onto the bed with an expressionless face while expanding his sensing range, he couldn’t sense anyone nearby or anything strange.
"Rise," Rem muttered under his breath, a ripple went through the ground as an arm shot out of the ground – energy permeating out of his arm as it slowly pulled itself out of the portal, Upon leaving the portal, it bowed down to Rem.
’Everytime they kneel... it stirs something within me,’ Rem thought while clenching his chest.
It looked like a green version of Tobi’s full form, it certainly had that demonic charm. Rem looked closer and watched the two horns protruding from it’s head.
"Alright turn into a bird," Rem gave an order – it was a pretty basic one but the soldier executed it effortlessly, a crimson aura wrapping around it’s body as it shrunk in size and became a pigeon.
’Something bigger,’ Rem thought.
"Turn into a book," Rem said, the familiar crimson energy pulsated around the Shapeshifter’s body and it turned into a book, a heavy book with lots of pages with a green cover – Rem was not satisfied with the transformations so far yet.
"Turn into a Magic Iron Sword," Rem ordered and the Shapeshifter hummed a little – the energy projecting around its body in an instant, and then it became a sword just like the one Drew carried around, a Magic Iron sword.
Rem nodded and the portal soon opened below the Demonic Shapeshifter, sucking it within just in time as a knock vibrated the door.
"Who’s that?" Rem asked with his classic poker face, not even moving a muscle.
"Mika," The girl replied and Rem sighed.
"You can talk from the door," Rem said.
"Isn’t it better if I come in or are you hiding something?" Mika asked.
"No,"
Mika sighed.
"It’s about the battle, alright?" Mika asked, there was no reply... Mika twisted the knob and opened the door, revealing a relatively clean room.
’I always thought boy’s rooms were messy,’ Mika thought to herself as Rem stared into her eyes – it was almost like he was seeing through her, her legs felt a little bit shaky.
"What do you want?" Rem asked.
"I want to ask... A C-grade dungeon, you know how dangerous it is," Mika said, "Even I know that you entered a C-grade dungeon because of the gate color, but you emerged from it unscathed, how?"
Rem sighed, it seems he still had another sort of explanation to do... he would just use the excuse from last time. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
