The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 180: Murderer (Part 2)
Rem felt good – he didn’t know why but he felt good... his grin only stretched wider as he saw Yokama struggling as the minutes stretched on.
The pleasure he felt from bullying the Beastkin soon reached the point where he had to laugh. Rem’s maniacal laugh echoed around the camp that was now swirling in destruction, the camp was in disarray and the members of the attacking force as well as the Apprentices were observing the battle unfolding in front of them.
"I can’t believe it..." A Cavalier muttered under his breath, the winds were hitting hard against their faces as they watched their Captain being overwhelmed and backed into a corner.
Megan’s hand was placed over her mouth as her hair was blown back in the wind, she couldn’t believe it... she couldn’t bring herself to believe what was happening, even though it was right in front of her eyes.
’He’s laughing?’ Mika thought, she had never thought she would get to hear him laugh – this wasn’t a regular laugh though, it wasn’t one filled with joy but rather it sounded diabolical, like he enjoyed playing with Yokama.
The people that knew Rem personally were surprised at this change, they had never thought that he would act like this.

’I have to do this,’ Yokama thought, raising his sword and using Phantom Slash to counter another appendage made of soul energy – they kept raining down on him, endlessly. His eyes lingered on Rem, it was almost like the boy had a limitless amount of soul energy to expend, ’I have to end this now,’
Yokama moved forward, a grin plastered on his face as soul energy leaked out of his eyes. Even with the odds placed against him, he wouldn’t accept defeat.
Rem saw Yokama’s movement and raised his hands up, bringing down endless appendages of soul energy but his eyes widened shortly after... something felt off.
"Phantom..."
The appendages got closer, Yokama could even feel the soul energy radiating from them but he steadied himself, his soul energy expending outwards as he pulled off a new aspect from his skill.
"Zone,"
Time seemed to slow down as Yokama’s soul energy engulfed all of the appendages Rem controlled, they dispersed shortly after – every single one of them was gone.
’Phantom Zone always works,’ Yokama thought as he arrived in front of Rem who looked taken aback, he was wide open and the Beastkin planned to use this opportunity to finish what he had started, killing the son just like he had killed the father.
Phantom Zone was similar to Phantom slash although they were vastly different, in Phantom strike, Yokama poured out his soul energy through a medium which was his weapon. The use of the weapon lowered the amount of soul energy needed to execute Phantom strike but the same could not be said for Phantom zone, it varied entirely from Phantom strike as it was a direct application of his soul energy – his soul energy would be expelled outwards and turned into a weapon that would attack anything with it’s range.
Yokama swung his sword at Rem’s neck, aiming to decapitate the Apprentice but he met something mid-way. The Beastkin’s eyes widened as he witnessed the fact that Rem had turned his hand into a sword.
’Monster!’ Yokama thought as Rem pushed him back, both weapons emitting sparks as the collision remained heated, ’Turning your hand into a weapon? What kind of skill is that?’
The Beastkin leaped backward and created space between them a moment later, he realized that despite the amount of strength he pushed into overpowering Rem – the Apprentice hadn’t been fazed in the slightest.
"Seems like you’ve been hiding your true power," Yokama said while gripping his sword with his two palms, his soul energy swirling around it, "Not that it matters, You’re going to reunite with your father anyway,"
Rem grinned as his sword hand reverted back to it’s original form, a crimson sickle made of soul energy took it’s place – It’s shape was menacing and the soul energy radiating from it was not to be trifled with.
’I might have to use Phantom Zone again,’ Yokama thought, subconsciously he took a step backward... it had begun to look like a battle that he could not win but he would give it his all.
Rem moved forward, his body turning into a blur in moments. He closed the distance quickly and swung his Soul sickle, Yokama met it with his Magic Steel sword and they clashed once again – the collision bringing forth another mesmerizing display of soul energies.
The Beastkin tried to push forward in the collision, he wanted to gain the upper hand and kill Rem as soon as possible but no matter what he did, Rem didn’t budge, it was almost as if his feet were connected to the ground.
"You shouldn’t let your eyes off your Opponent," Rem advised while creating another soul sickle with his free hand and stabbing it at Yokama’s stomach, the Cavalier’s eyes widened – if that was able to pierce him, he was surely dying.
’Phantom Zone,’ Yokama thought, focusing his soul energy at the point where Rem was planning to strike.
His soul energy pulsated around the spot and shot forward at Rem’s soul sickle, dispersing the weapon made of soul energy instantly. Rem’s eyes widened after seeing this and he quickly withdrew his hand.
’This skill is annoying,’ Rem thought, ’To disperse soul energy at an instant – it might be annoying but it’s incredibly useful, I’ll be sure to use it well once I have it,’
"Phantom Strike!" Yokama called out, soul energy wrapping around his weapon... the unique soul energy caused Rem’s weapon to vanish and left him wide-open.
A tendril made from shadow shot out of his palm, rippling through the air and penetrating one of Yokama’s eyes. The tendril retracted and the Beastkin collapsed onto his knees, groaning at the pain from losing his eye.
"What the fuck just happened?!" Yokama asked, blood pouring down profusely from the wound.
