The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 178: Undying Hate
Rem’s eyes fluttered open, his head throbbed in pain but he managed to steady himself... his feet ached.
"What happened?" Rem asked, coughing as his body ached – the last thing he could remember was being hit across the face and then his vision grew hazy but he could still remember smashing onto multiple surfaces before finally coming to a stop.
Blood stained the boy’s clothes as he stared ahead, finding the crumpled form of his father lying on the ground. Yokama was nowhere to be found and Rem breathed a sigh of relief, he thought they had been spared.
He tried to get to his feet but his legs gave out below him, forcing his face into the ground.
’I... can’t move my legs,’ Rem thought but he didn’t let that deter him from his goal, he crawled across the empty street – his gray eyes were full of determination, he needed to... reach his father.
Rem didn’t care about the guards...
He didn’t care about the curfew...
He didn’t care about the punishment...
All he wanted was to hold onto the man that he loved with all of his being, the man that he had several fun times with... The man that always brought a smile to his face despite the situation.
It took several long breathtaking minutes and Rem had finally arrived beside his father, he shook the Greg’s slumped body but there was no response.
"Dad," Rem muttered as he shook harder.
There was no response...
"Dad," Rem said, making his voice a little louder this time – he didn’t want the guards finding them like this.
There was still no response...
"Dad!" Rem cried out and flipped Greg’s body over, his eyes widening in shock as he saw the man’s face stained in blood... his eyeballs were gouged out and his chest was caved in, Greg wasn’t breathing...
"Dad?"
An ethereal throb of energy expelled from within Rem, the body in front of him triggered something within Rem. Soul energy escaped from his eyes, lighting up his gray pupils in a shade of murderous green.
Dark clouds swirled in the sky, the rumbling of thunder echoing throughout Orion. Rem was only focused on Greg who was dead... the feeling was growing stronger, it was roaring within him, just begging to be unleashed.
The downpour began.
The child had never experienced anything like this before but as tears streamed down his eyes profusely, it became more evident what this feeling that was building up within him was...
Undying Hate.

"I’ll kill you!" Rem shouted out, his eyes glowing crazily - the Undying hatred he felt for Yokama awakened and a crimson aura of soul energy wrapped around him.
Yokama stood up, his eyes glowing with soul energy, a smirk played at his lips.
"I’ll destroy the entire bloodline right here and now!" Yokama cried out, pulling out his Magic Steel sword and coating it with soul energy, "You should have died that day!"
Before Yokama could move forward, he felt something... his instincts warned him, they warned him to not take a step further.
’Why...’ Yokama thought, his smirk growing to a frown, ’Why does it feel like I’ll die if I take a step closer?’
Rem’s soul energy swirled out of control, the ground of the tent was bathed in a blood crimson glow as the aura around Rem took shape, the shape of four appendages similar to human arms – each one radiated an immense power, one that forced even an experienced Cavalier like Yokama to put up his guard.
’He’s just the son of a fraud!’ Yokama cried out inwardly, his wary eyes meeting Rem’s crimson ones – he could see it... what lay behind those eyes.
Undying Hatred.
A Hatred that would not stop till one of them was dead, a hatred that would not end with him... The kind of hatred that lay behind Rem’s eyes made Yokama sure that anyone related to him would be killed off by the boy without a second’s hesitation.
The first appendage shot through the air, clenched into a fist. It moved rapidly toward Yokama, Rem’s chaotic soul energy coursing around it. The experienced Cavalier raised up his sword, coating it with soul energy and attempting to tank the attack.
At the moment of collision between the soul energies, the tent was ripped apart and the Vice Captain standing outside who had heard the shouts coming from inside was sent flying back. She wasn’t the only one though, Yokama had also been forced back by the Appendage of soul energy.
’What Monstrous strength,’ Yokama thought, ’He has been holding it back,’
The power Rem had been showing them before was not a fraction of the power Yokama was able to see now... hate pulsated around Rem’s soul energy as a devious grin played across his lips.
Two appendages snaked in the air and propelled forward, the wind generated just by these appendages moving forward was able to lift several tents nearby into the air – this was a testament to the power that Rem’s awakening had granted him.
Yokama learned from his first confrontation and steadied himself, grasping his sword with both hands and shooting forward... his movements that had once been a blur to Rem was quickly intercepted by the first appendage, the glowering crimson palm descending onto Yokama.
But the Captain wasn’t planning to be overwhelmed by the appendage, he drew upon his sword – coating it in soul energy but it was much more different this time.
"Phantom Strike!" Yokama called out, slashing the palm skillfully... his soul energy caused the palm to dispel, the crimson soul energy that had been used to create the attack vanished but there was little time to celebrate victory as the second one came, slamming a powerful punch in Yokama’s side.
The Beastkin soared through the air but planted his feet into the ground soon after, steadying himself once again.
"You don’t understand," Rem said with a devious grin, the crimson aura around him rising into the air as multiple appendages formed, "If I wanted, I could kill you with one strike but that kind of death would be too easy – I want to toy with you... rip apart your limbs one by one,"
