The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 168: Jump Him (Part 4)
Tero pulled up a barrier in front of him quickly, defending himself from the several tentacles that had come in his direction – the barrier completely defended him from the tendrils, he couldn’t do the same for the others so that left Mika and Olivia to think about ways to escape from their predicaments.
The tendrils shot toward Olivia but she wasn’t intimidated, lightning rippled over her entire body as she began dodging them – her original speed combined with the insane speed boost she had achieved from unlocking Lightning made her a blur to the eyes, she dodged each and every one of the tendrils coming for her... letting them smash into the ground and disperse. Zarchary had created all of them hastily, so while they were plentiful, their durability was to be overlooked.
Mika on the other hand didn’t have the blessing of such speed, her tattoo shone as the tendrils shot toward her, as the first one came down, Mika punched it aside – her soul energy radiating around the tendril as it shattered.
As the tendrils came down on her, Mika attacked them with full bursts of soul energy, destroying them under the rapid movements of her arms.
The barrier in front of Tero stood strong and unwavering, the tendrils doing no damage to it whatsoever. Tero’s eyes glowed as he shot an orb through the air toward Zarchary who was currently stationary on the wall, raining down the tendrils upon them.
As soon as Zarchary saw this, his eyes widened in fear... he summoned his remaining tendrils and used them on the orb, with the hundreds of tendrils coming at the orb, they were all assimilated within some seconds – the magical energy in them making the orb expand even more but the time it took the orb to assimilate them was more than enough for Zarchary to escape from the imminent danger.
The barrier in front of Tero shattered as the youth moved past it, his speed genuinely creating ripples in the air. He moved to Zarchary with the dagger still in hand, murderous intent exuding his body.
’He’s different from the first time I fought him,’ Zarchary thought, ’At first he was making smart moves till the end where he pulled a suicidal bomber on both of us, but now... he’s completely suicidal,’
Two pink tendrils shot out of Zarchary’s back, moving toward Tero in an attempt to slow him down but it didn’t work, Tero’s dagger absorbed the magic within the attack.
The Demon tried to put as much space between them as possible but such a feat proved to be strenuous, especially with Olivia’s next move. Olivia rocketed forth, moving toward Zarchary with lightning at her feet – her movements were amplified, her body had become a blur and her eyes were filled with determination.
She clenched her fists, letting them surge with lightning. She had always depended on a sword – the sword was an extension of the body, and to her, it was the only weapon she needed. Olivia gritted her teeth, tightening her fists yet again as she prepared to smash them into Zarchary’s face but out of the corner of her eyes, she saw something...
A sword spinning in the air, heading toward her. It was from Tero and she was grateful for it, as the sword came to her, she grabbed it by the hilt and her body movements changed... Olivia moved from her spot, her speed even more defined and precise as she appeared in front of Zarchary, swinging the sword forward.
Zarchary evaded the strike and an arc of lightning stretched forth from her blade. Olivia moved her sword, slashing at the demon once again only to get the same results as the first time – Zarchary moved out of the way, evading both the strike and the arc of lightning.
This gave Tero enough time to close the distance, appearing behind Zarchary and bringing the dagger down, the dagger didn’t comment as Zarchary’s body released several tendrils, both Apprentices moved away and Zarchary used this chance to slip away, but Mika was one step ahead – the blue haired Apprentice appeared in front of him, her fist surrounded by soul energy. With a single punch, she broke through the tendrils and punched Zarchary’s chest... black lightning began to converge once again as another convergence was triggered.

"This place looks desolate," Cole commented as he observed the small mountain in front of him, or at least what remained of the small mountain – the place was rubble, "Who or whatever did this is powerful, we should be careful,"
They had looked for animals to hunt, only to find that none were still lurking around this area. Instead they were making their way to the battle that was happening up ahead.
The ground shook below them as the rubble glowed in a blue light, all the Apprentices drew forth their weapons to protect themselves. The rubble began moving, as if it was clearing a path from the inside.
"Something’s coming," Cynthia said, preparing herself for a battle. She was scared – what could have enough power to do something like this? Clearing such huge rubble and opening a path from the inside... she hadn’t heard such a thing before.
Rem made his way out of the opening much to the surprise of the three Apprentices, he was bathed in blue blood, his clothes ragged and his eyes were glowing in a malevolent crimson – they were able to notice that his presence had changed, he felt like a whole different person.
"Rem?"
Rem didn’t glance at them but he looked in the direction where the battle was going on and he chuckled before vanishing into thin air, Cole could barely follow his movements but he could see that Rem was running toward their destination.
"Let’s follow him," Cole said and the Apprentices began a full-blown dash toward the Camp... not only did they want to see what was happening but they could see something strange was happening with their ally – all of them wanted to know what was going on.
