Chapter 167: Jump Him (Part 3)

Tero’s blue eyes glimmered as he stared at Zarchary blankly, the demon unable to bring a word to describe this predicament – he had seen Tero’s body on the battlefield, a huge rock lodged in his stomach... he had already lost a lot of blood and was dying but here he was, seeing the same person staring at him venomously.

Olivia was glad to see that he was alright but she could also see that something had changed – something had snapped within him... he was very dangerous, the aura around him was a clear warning of that. Unlike before, Olivia didn’t stop her transformation to look at him... Zarchary was a dangerous man, she couldn’t let her guard down around him.

Mika inched forward, her eyes in disbelief – she had sensed Tero’s soul energy signature grow faint mere moments ago, he had been hanging tightly onto the thread of life and now he was back, standing in front of them while wearing an expression meant for a warrior yet no sane warrior would pull off such a confident crazy smile, especially not in front of a person as powerful as Zarchary but Tero didn’t seem to care, the titles that this man had meant absolutely nothing to him.

Tero spread his arms wide, his gaze never leaving that of Zarchary’s. Both human and demon were locked in a fierce stare.

"Spiral Technique," Tero said, making sure his voice was loud enough for everyone to hear, "Bounding Barriers!"

At first nothing happened, it was as if Tero had been making it up but blue barriers began to construct around the current fighters, walling off the weaker people that didn’t want to enter the fight. Matthew watched the barrier separate him even further from his sister and his lips quivered.

"You’re trapped with us in these Bounding barriers," Tero said, "This is going to be the last place you’re going to see, your life is coming to an abrupt end,"

Tero vanished into thin air, moving at a speed that easily put Olivia’s new speed to shame, he appeared behind Zarchary.

’This must be some advantage since he’s the one in control of these barriers,’ Zarchary thought while looking around, his eyes meeting Tero’s and without skipping a beat, he spun around and aimed a powerful punch at the Apprentice’s head but like the first time, he vanished into thin air and appeared behind Zarchary, his movements were nimble and as silent as a feather.

Tero’s palm gripped on the hilt of his weapon, a short dagger he had pulled out of his inventory – he figured it would be good against his opponent. Seeing that he had gotten the demon in his blind-spot, Tero went in for a stab with his dagger, this short dagger was coated with his magical energy which ensured that once the Apprentice’s weapon made contact with the demon’s skin, it would still have the same effect as a regular orb charged with magical energy – before the blade could hit his back, Zarchary moved out of the way.

"If you really thought I was going to kill you easily, then you’re wrong!" Tero said hatefully as both fighters continued their confrontation – the wind parted as the battle rolled by, the steeled resolve that had been empowering both female fighters slowly crumbled, their energy depleting fast.

"I don’t think I’ll be of help to him like this," Olivia said, her knees trembled beneath her – she felt like she was going to hit the ground face-first but a rejuvenating aura suddenly wrapped around her entire figure, filling her with the stamina she had lost. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

From outside the barriers, Megan devoted herself – her time, all of her effort and her magic into healing the two girls, Tero was standing his own against Zarchary now but at any time, things could change and the Silver-haired Apprentice needed all the help he coud get.

’Is he really dead?’ Megan thought while healing Olivia, her mind drifted to the memories that they had spent together – the nights they’d spent in each other’s embrace and the massages he had given her, as well as the latest massage to which he had turned her on greatly, even now she couldn’t forget the tingling sensation.

The healer couldn’t bring herself to imagine that the man she loved dearly, a man capable of fighting several fierce monsters had died – she couldn’t bring herself to believe it... shortly after Megan switched and healed up Mika who was grateful.

’I won’t let you get hurt again, Tero,’ Olivia promised herself in her thoughts, her blank eyes flashing and blue sparks of lightning occasionally sparking around her – with her renewed energy, she moved toward where both fighters were having their confrontation.

All of Tero’s attacks were expertly dodged by Zarchary who was careful of the boy’s techniques, Tero was one of the few people capable of bringing him to his death... he had already been given a near-death experience and that alone was enough for him to learn from his mistakes, Zarchary observed the youth with conservative eyes, watching his every move although he occasionally took glances into the sky to see whether he was charging another ’Maximum Output: Explosion’ again.

A bolt of lightning suddenly shot past his face, the searing heat of the attack unmistakable – Zarchary knew that the only person with enough firepower to pull that off was Olivia and with her still in the battle, he was at a disadvantage.

Just once cut from that dagger and his molecules start rearranging, the same method for last time wouldn’t work and therefore it would inevitably lead to his death so Zarchary decided to do the only logical thing in such a situation – Get hit by a bolt of lightning.

A bolt of lightning slammed into him, sending the demon flying through the air toward one of the many walls in the dungeon. Zarchary glowed in a pink aura and several pink tendrils shot out, each of them holding an incredible amount of speed – the Apprentices were barely to react to the hundreds of tendrils befalling them.
