Chapter 166: Jump Him (Part 2)

Tero coughed, his eyes gaining color as he found himself amidst the destroyed crater – he could barely move... he had sustained serious injuries.

Since he had the ability to manipulate molecules via his eyes, he was not affected by the effects of his own spell but the dark magic and explosion hurt... they hurt him a lot.

"Where did that bastard go?" Tero muttered under his breath, not seeing him anywhere – he doubted that Zarchary was dead and as he expected, a brilliant blue bolt of lightning shot into the sky, it was all he needed to see to know that Zarchary was close if not already at the camp.

’They need my help,’ Tero thought but his consciousness was slipping, he looked at the large rock embedded into his stomach, blood staining his clothes – he was losing too much blood, ’Thankfully Rem gave me that Healing vial, I’d really be in trouble without it,’

He flicked his finger at the huge rock and a small blue beam of magic propelled toward the rock, wiping it out of existence. After that, he reached for his pocket and brought out the vial, unharmed after everything he had been through.

Tero raised it to his lips and tore off the cork before gulping down the healing liquid – his eyes flashing as his wounds rapidly healed, he glanced at the streak of lightning in the sky and grinned from ear to ear.

"I’ll be there in a bit," Tero muttered under his breath.

"Do you think we should check that out? Seems like a huge battle is going on," Cynthia said while looking at her partner – Krista. They had been with each other for weeks and after sharing several life-and-death situations with each other, they had become close friends.

Krista stared at the streaks of lightning shooting into the air at the distance – her beastkin senses were warning her of the danger that lay ahead yet she stood with resolve, she had a goal – to find Rem and Mika, they were meant to be a team and Rem as well as Mika could be anywhere in this forsaken dungeon.

"I’m not the leader," Krista said with a shrug and looked behind her, her eyes landed on the crimson haired Apprentice that sat cross-legged against a stone pillar, "Heard that Cole? What are we going to do?"

Cole stood up, brandishing his blades and staring at the two girls that he had managed to stumble on by chance – they had been ambushed by a horde of Monsters and he had helped them in exterminating the monsters permanently.

"I still don’t know how I got to be the group leader," Cole said and Krista just shrugged, "But we should head toward the eye of the battle – there’s a high chance of finding Rem or Mika there, if we’re lucky, even both,"

Cynthia looked at Cole, a bit perplexed at his reasoning.

"So we should blindly rush to a battle because there’s a chance?" Cynthia asked with a shrug, it didn’t sound reasonable.

"It’s either that or keep sitting here," Cole said, expressing his boredom, "Besides we needed to change hunting grounds – if any edible monsters come our way while fleeing from that area, we can hunt them,"

Cynthia was satisfied now and so was Krista, they soon began moving to the point of the battle – the thunderbolts had gotten more potent, the distant sound of thunder rumbling uncontrollably echoed throughout the dungeon.

"Sir, I think we found something," The Vice-captain said as the thunderbolts rippled through the air, "It could be the Apprentices, the survivors,"

There were unlucky Apprentices that had unfortunately met their ends at the hands of the Monsters crawling everywhere within the dungeon. They had been ordered by the Mayor to let the harshness of dungeon raids rain upon the Apprentices, a few deaths was nothing in the grand scheme of things.

The survivors, Apprentices that had survived the onslaught of monsters would forever be changed – each and every mansion knew that, the Mayor had filled them in... only the strongest were allowed to thrive in the world they lived in, remaining weak and innocent helped nobody in the face of the monsters. The monsters wouldn’t discriminate.

"Seems like a recent awakening," Yokama mused while they sat on the ground, huddled in a circle – resting after another unsuccessful day of looking for the Boss room, he then turned to two Cavaliers, "Kyle and Jordan, I want you guys to go ahead and bring any Apprentices you see there towards us, I have a feeling we’ll soon find the Boss room and get out of here, it’s nearly been a month and they’ve probably been sleeping on the bare ground,"

They nodded and set off quickly, leaving Yokama to his thoughts – he wondered if Rem was still alive...

’If he survived, then I might have to kill him myself,’ Yokama thought, ’He was awfully young at that time so he doesn’t recognize me,’

If he did... Yokama knew of the curses that would be leaving the boy’s lips, after all, Yokama had done an unforgivable crime – Murder.

"Is that all you have?!" Zarchary asked as the thunderbolts kept reeling toward him, Olivia was getting exhausted as the seconds rolled by but the thought of Tero being dead fueled her resolve, making sure she stood strong.

Mika on the other hand with her newfound power was engaging in close combat with the demon, she had landed three convergences and combined with her earlier fatigue – she felt like she would collapse but the pink tattoo kept giving her the energy to push forward, avenging Rem was the utmost priority.

The others watched this going on with expressions of awe and worry, Matthew was worried that his sister was pushing herself a little too far and wanted to step in, to ensure that she would be safe but he hesitated, a gust of wind formed from the collisions pushed him back.

’She’s already tons of times stronger than me,’ Matthew thought, ’What can I do to help? Nothing!’

Zarchary was honestly enjoying it, they weren’t his equals but he admired the effort they put into every strike. A stray blue orb of swirling magical energy suddenly shot toward Zarchary and as soon as he noticed this, he immediately vanished into thin air and let the orb shoot past him into a broken stone pillar. As soon as the stone pillar made contact with the orb, it was sucked within, it’s molecular structure dissolved – the orb grew larger and Zarchary sighed as he appeared once again.

"Can’t stay dead, can you?" Zarchary asked, the onslaught of moves from both girls stopped – they were trying to fathom who had just done that... Tero walked onto the battlefield, his hands in the pockets of his ragged clothes.

Olivia’s blank eyes softened, she was glad he was alive but there was something different... Tero showed his face to Zarchary, the massive grin playing at his lips unmistakable.

His eyes were glowing crazily, complimenting the crazy expression on his face and Zarchary subconsciously looked into the sky – sighing in relief when he found that there wasn’t a suicidal attack waiting for him. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

’He almost put an end to my thousand year lifespan,’ Zarchary thought, his guard was up, ’Just who the hell is this boy??!!’

"You’re going to lose,"

"You should have killed me,"

"You left me for dead,"

"I’ll kill you!"
