Chapter 165: Jump Him (Part 1)

Mika was a sensor after all; she could feel exactly where Rem and Tero were... monitoring their movements as they made their way deeper into the small mountain, she could sense how dense and powerful the Glacian’s soul energy had been and she could also sense when Zarchary had decided to make his way toward the Camp.

A sensor was able to see and feel energy on a different plane than regular experienced Cavaliers that could pick up traces of a person’s soul energy... the sensor was able to visualize the soul signature, the specific soul energy specified for each and every being but even with their extraordinary sensing abilities, they were unable to see the soul – an ability set aside for Channelers but sensors were rare... both in Magus and Cavaliers.

"I know you were the one that killed him," Mika said, azure soul energy swirling around her entire body, "I could sense it,"

It was painful... feeling Rem’s soul energy drop down all of a sudden until it vanished, the mountain had come crashing upon him – she hated to think about it but there was no way he was going to survive... she still held a little bit of hope, she clung onto it tightly... he had come out of a C-grade dungeon gate to save them and he could do it again, even if the odds were stacked against him.

She moved forward, her figure turning to a speedy blur as she closed the distance between herself and the demon – as she appeared in front of him, she brought her fist forward but Zarchary defended against it effortlessly, parrying the strike with his single hand and smashing his foot down upon the girl, trying to stomp her into the ground.

Mika dodged it and clenched her fists, wrapping them within soul energy once again before throwing a punch at Zarchary’s face from his blindspot – the part of his body that didn’t have an arm, before her fist could reach his face, another arm popped out of the stub of his right hand, grabbing and defending against her punch with ease.

"A sensor engaging in physical combat?" Zarchary asked, his smug grin on his face, "Things are getting really exciting – first we had a Magic swordsman, next we had a boy that could manipulate spells on a molecular level and now a Sensor that actually knows how to fight quite skillfully, what more do you have to show me?!"

He was genuinely excited, the excitement was bubbling within his veins... these humans were unlike any he had seen before.

"What happened to Tero?" Mika asked, his soul energy was dimming in the distance, it meant he was still alive...

"He got canceled by his own attack," Zarchary asked while dodging a powerful jab packed with soul energy, "How is it my fault that he died by his own technique?"

The rumbling of thunder echoed as Olivia shot from her position, leaving a trail of blue lightning behind her – her hair flailed wildly in the air and her pupils vanished, revealing the primal fury that lay dormant within her calm figure.

’It’s about time,’ Mika thought with an exhale, for some reason, Olivia was obsessed with repaying Tero, he had helped her that day and she wanted to repay it – so hearing that he died before she could complete it flipped a switch. Her gaze narrowed at Zarchary, her murderous intent being released outward... the hate bubbling within Mika was akin to the one she had with the Hellhound, pure unrivaled hate emanated from her core.

The soul energy surging around her body grew darker as she moved toward Zarchary as well, Olivia was faster – appearing before the Demon and reaching her hand out to grab his neck, a predictable move easily read by Zarchary.

’Lightning users are powerful but when they’re lost in rage – they become easy targets,’ Zarchary thought, bringing his fist forward and cladding it with dark magic, determined to bring the life of the Magic Swordsman to an end right there but Olivia dodged his punch, rearing her palm forward and blasting Zarchary with a thunderbolt that sent the demon spiraling backward.

Mika was already there, the soul energy wrapping around her right fist which she had brought back – her concentration was on inflicting maximum damage to Zarchary and that was only possible with Convergence... Zarchary was being flung to her by a thunderbolt he hadn’t expected and this was an opening she could exploit to the most of her advantage.

The moment she brought her fist forward with utmost concentration – black wisps of lightning surrounded it. Her fist made contact with Zarchary’s back and a shockwave was formed, rippling through the world around the both of them and cracking it.

Mika drove her fist forward with as much power as she could muster, black bolts of lightning shrouding the Demon’s figure... Zarchary shot toward Olivia, his back roasting from the damage that had been dealt to him.

’I forgot how harsh a Convergence felt,’ Zarchary thought as Olivia’s eyes locked onto him, blue bolts of lightning blasting him once again – he wasn’t caught off-guard this time, a barrier of dark magic appeared in front of him and shielded him from the strike.

Mika found herself staring at her fists, her body brimming with newfound energy – the pink tattoo on her shoulder began glowing, filling her with even more power.

’This isn’t enough,’ Mika thought as she watched the confrontation of darkness and lightning unfold in front of her – Her current strength wouldn’t be able to assist Olivia against Zarchary nevertheless take revenge for Rem... the glow from the tattoo intensified as Mika drew upon more of its power, the soul energy wrapping around her palms expanded with density.

Zarchary looked over in her direction, watching her empower herself even more from an unseen source – she was certainly much more different than any other sensor he had seen in his thousand years of life.

Mika peeled her eyes shut, summoning more and more power from the tattoo for her goal and the power came - it came with a cost, the exhaustion... it had only been seconds and she was already feeling heavy.

Her eyes opened and she stared at the Demon, without a word, she moved toward Zarchary with purpose.
