The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 164: Maximum Output (Part 2)
Zarchary’s eyes instinctively went up into the air and he saw a swirling blue orb of energy, rotating slowly above them.
"A final ditch attack? You must be getting desperate," Zarchary said with confidence in his voice, "I’ll ruin that confidence for you,"
With a flick of his finger, Zarchary shot a beam of dark magic into the sphere and it absorbed the components of the magic – being corrupted in the process. A grin spread across the Demon’s face as he saw that Tero wasn’t able to disperse this one.
"This attack... is under my control," Zarchary said and turned back to Tero, his smug grin was wiped off his face seeing that the Apprentice’s grin had widened even further, "Why are you still smiling?"
Tero snapped his fingers, triggering the countless explosive molecules within the orb – Zarchary’s eyes widened at the Apprentice’s action and he raised his hand, trying to control the spell but he wasn’t in control.
"Even when it’s corrupted... you still have full control over it?" Zarchary asked while noticing the swirling orb grew larger and larger, spinning at a much faster pace, "So letting me think that I had control over it when it was corrupted was all a part of your plan?"
Zarchary recalled the first orb, even if he had corrupted it – it might have succeeded in killing him... and the other smaller orbs were to make him lower his guard as Zarchary thought he had dispersed them before they were fully corrupted.
But the Black orb swirling above them, expanding every second proved his thoughts wrong. The dark magic was empowered each time the orb expanded, black sparks of lightning surrounding the orb.
"What are you planning to do with that?" Zarchary asked and Tero looked at him, his eyes letting off a crazy glow.
"What? Explode it of course!" Tero shouted out hysterically.
"If you do that, you kill both of us," Zarchary said, trying to reason with the Apprentice – any sudden movement could lead to the death of both of them, even he wasn’t sure he would survive if the molecules making him up were absorbed into the spell.
"And so?" Tero asked ignorantly, the hysterical grin still plastered across his face.
’This isn’t the guy that I fought,’ Zarchary thought, ’Maybe the constant beating to the head is the problem,’
Tero raised his fingers up and sighed victoriously.
"Maximum Output," He muttered, but Zarchary heard it and his eyes widened – he moved forward with blinding speed in a desperate attempt to kill the Apprentice before he had the chance to trigger his technique, but as he had earlier expected, Tero was able to see through that immediately and leap backward – evading a killing blow.
The orb detonated, ringing across the distance and swallowing both fighters whole, a crater spread over the desolate rocky battlefield – the ground shook, the air turned heavy and the explosion was massive.

Olivia’s eyes snapped open, her lips quivering slightly as her head was placed on Matthew’s lap – her eyes stared at his and a silent understanding was formed between the siblings.
"My head hurts," Olivia said while gritting her teeth, the pain was somewhat manageable. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"You’re the one who abruptly unlocked your magical energy like that," Matthew said, "Of course it’s going to hurt,"
"Aren’t you angry?" Olivia asked, staring into his unreadable gaze.
"Angry?" Matthew asked, "Why would I be?"
"I just took away my future as a Cavalier, I awakened my magical energy," Olivia said, "We are only together right now because both of us have soul energy – once Dad founds out that I have magical energy, he’ll start preparing for me to go to the Institution of Magic, we won’t be together anymore,"
Matthew stared at his sister before chuckling.
"And so what happens then?" Matthew asked, "I’m not a child anymore Olivia, I can perfectly take care of myself – so what if Dad triples my training? I want to get stronger... so I can protect you,"
Olivia’s cheeks warmed up before she noticed that the pain she had been feeling before was gone.
"Where did you see a healing vial?" Olivia asked, "All of my wounds are healed,"
"That’ll be the work of our resident healer," Matthew said, pointing at Megan who sat beside Olivia – her eyes radiating warmth although she trembled visibly, the blast from the explosion still worried her.
"A Healer? Well that’s unprecedented," An unfamiliar yet familiar voice rung in the air, one that caused Olivia to promptly shoot up from her brother’s lap and get into a combat stance although she lacked a weapon – if one looked closely, they could see the fear in her eyes.
Zarchary stood there in full glory; he had remained alive through the explosion...
"That boy’s spells surely are a headache," Zarchary muttered, "I barely survived them,"
Upon realizing that he wouldn’t be able to survive the explosion with regular barriers made of dark magic – he decided to focus his magic on preserving his internal organs as his regeneration would work as long as he had the vital parts of his body intact...
"Even after that, I’m not still fully healed," Zarchary muttered, looking at his missing arm – the last part of his body yet to heal... the black trousers he had worn although torn and battered had been part of the things he had protected, he wouldn’t want to be walking around naked after all.
His eyes turned back to Olivia and saw the girl ready to go another round with him, something that he’d be happy to oblige with but there was a troubling presence – his eyes went to a blue-haired girl approaching him with soul energy shrouding her fists, her eyes were filled with hate and she gave off a more profound murderous intent than the one Olivia had managed to manifest.
"You’re a rather skilled one, aren’t you?" Zarchary asked, "And a sensor too? That’s remarkable,"
He just kept finding different prodigies in this group and despite having lived a thousand years – engaged in battles with so many opponents, honed his battle experiences and even hone his techniques... he had never seen human children with such potential, in fact, he hadn’t been born with as much potential as he was displaying or he would easily be more powerful.
Mika’s fists rumbled as her hair rose into the air, her soul energy exploding outwards, coating her body in a powerful aura.
"What did you do to Rem??!" She thundered, her eyes red with rage.
