The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 163: Maximum Output (Part 1)
Olivia’s body fell to the ground limply, every trace of lightning around her vanishing in an instant as she had lost consciousness – she had pushed her body too far after just unlocking magic so it was only natural... before she hit the ground, Tero appeared in front of her and caught her.
"You’ve done well," Tero praised her, "Let me take it from here,"
With that, he looked to the side seeing Matthew running towards them from the camp, his eyes wide with worry.
"Take her," Tero said and handed Olivia over to Matthew who took her gently and ran off.
Zarchary watched at the Magic Swordsman leave and his palm glowed in a deep crimson as he fired off a beam toward her and Matthew; determined to kill her immediately but his beam changed direction, heading over to Tero’s palm that had a blue orb rotating around it.
The beam vanished as soon as it entered the orb, the molecules of energy being broken down within the orb and amplifying the orb’s size.
"Absorbing magic?" Zarchary watched, clearly stunned. He thought his eyes were deceiving him – Magical absorption was something he hadn’t seen before, "That’s a lie,"
He sent multiple beams of energy at Tero and the fleeing Matthew that hadn’t covered much distance but just like the first ones, they were sucked into the blue orb and the magical energy was absorbed – the orb grew larger and Tero threw it toward Zarchary.
Zarchary watched the orb shooting toward him, it wasn’t dangerous and it was something he could easily dodge – the orb pulled to a stop before it could meet him, and began growing larger and larger, it’s swirling intensified and Zarchary’s eyes widened as he felt an immense pressure forcing him toward the orb, it was sucking him in.
’It’s power is not magical absorption,’ Zarchary thought as he observed the shape and power exhibited by the orb, ’It’s manipulating at a molecular level – how can someone have such a spell?’
’There are several unstable molecules in the air around him,’ Tero observed while raising up two fingers, ’Explode,’
Just as he willed it, several explosions rang in the air around Zarchary, although they didn’t do much physical damage – they destabilized the demon and he was getting even nearer to the orb in front of him. For the first time in a long while, he was feeling fear but there was also a burst of excitement.
"Even this won’t stop me!" Zarchary exclaimed pridefully as he snapped his fingers... the air around him turned dark and heavy as dark magic floated in the air.
’Dark magic users are capable of corrupting magic,’ Tero thought, if his magic was corrupted and used against him – it would certainly be a hassle. With that thought, he dispersed the magic before it could be corrupted.
Zarchary looked at the dispersed spell with a bit of disappointment but the call the Youth had made was the right one.
"Dark Spears," Zarchary said as the dark magic around him turned to several spears. The spears rippled through the air toward Tero but the Apprentice stood in place, blue orbs appearing around him and shooting toward the spears.
’That’s not a good idea,’ Zarchary thought, ’They will get corrupted,’
The orbs met the spears, the dark magic being absorbed into the orb.
’They’re corrupted now,’ Zarchary thought, raising a finger and trying to take control of the orbs but they dispersed before he could even control them, ’How did he do that?’
Zarchary was surprised, after being corrupted, a spell was under his control but even after being corrupted – Tero was able to control and disperse the spell.
’His control over magic is dangerous,’ Zarchary thought, ’I should be very careful around him,’
And then he shot downward, sending ripples through the air – he might be a prodigy in magical energy but he couldn’t be the same in physical combat and Zarchary planned to use it to his advantage.
As he made his way toward Tero, the Apprentice’s palms surged with soul energy at it’s maximum.
’Even my maximum intensity of soul energy isn’t enough to pierce his body,’ Tero thought, he needed a much higher intensity to pierce to harm Zarchary with one blow but there wasn’t enough time to think about that. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Zarchary appeared in front of him, his fists poised for battle as crimson energy shrouded his fists, Zarchary started with a blitz of punches with the aim of putting the Apprentice on the defensive but much to his surprise, Tero began attacking as well.
Their fists clashed mid-air, creating ripples in the air as Tero stood against the demon with resentment in his eyes... He had been expecting Rem to make it out alive, even holding onto the slim chance of him beating the Monster and coming out to help them but the demon in front of him had shattered those dreams at once – caving in the whole thing upon Rem... those hopes were lost and it made him furious.
"I swear I’ll make you pay," Tero said under his breath, his eyes shining even more as the confrontation continued – both fighters unwilling to relent for even a moment, the ground beneath them began cracking.
"You’re a skilled combatant," Zarchary praised, "But even you can’t keep up with a thousand years of experience,"
Zarchary broke through his defenses, landing a mean right hook across Tero’s face prompting blood to shoot out his nose. The attacks didn’t end there, with this opening, Zarchary kept on landing hits on the Apprentice who couldn’t defend... but the grin on Tero’s face didn’t subside with the blows.
Zarchary stopped and looked at the smiling boy.
"Why are you smiling? Despite being beaten up, have you seen that it is pointless?" Zarchary asked but Tero coughed and wiped the blood at his lips.
"No, I’m surprised that you’re so powerful yet you haven’t even sensed your death," Tero replied while his smirk grew wider, "You’re going to die today cause you didn’t look up when you had the chance,"
