Chapter 130: Beastkin Prodigy (Part 2)

The battlefield raged with explosions of soul energy as Krista’s fight against Martha ensued. Both fighters were completely focused on the battle, giving their all.

’How is she able to keep up with me?’ Martha thought as she dodged a slash from Krista – the speed of the Beastkin far surpassing anything that an Apprentice should be able to muster.

Adrenaline pumped through Krista’s veins, enhancing her movements as she raised two fingers from her right palm upward – the air rattled as soul energy echoed around both of them, soul weapons were formed almost instantly and all of them converged on Martha who had nothing but a Rapier to defend herself.

Martha poured soul energy into her rapier, defending herself against the onslaught of soul weapons – Krista gritted her teeth as Martha quickly deflected all of her soul weapons but a smile soon spread at her lips. The weapons that Martha had deflected with her rapier began to spin rapidly, gathering more soul energy within their figures before exploding... forcing Martha to jump backward, avoiding the explosions narrowly but Krista didn’t give her any breathing space as she immediately appeared behind Martha, holding a soul weapon in her palm and swinging it at Martha’s back.

Martha vanished into thin air right before the soul weapon could hit her and Krista gave a berated sigh as Martha appeared further away from her, staring at her with wide eyes. The soul weapon vanished and Krista raised her fists, violet soul energy radiating around her fists.

Martha reached for her pockets, bringing out a single vial and flashing it in front of Krista – prompting the Beastkin to widen her eyes.

"An antidote?" Krista asked, it was exactly what she needed right now to give to Cynthia.

Poisoning was very lethal and being poisoned over a certain amount of time would cause the victim to lose consciousness.

"Exactly," Martha said, "I noticed that the girl over there is poisoned and I happen to be the person in the party tasked with holding the Antidotes, so if you beat me, you can have the antidotes,"

"But we both know that-"

"Soul Weaponization!"

An explosion of soul energy echoed around the surroundings as several soul weapons were created and detonated around Martha, Martha leaped into the air, avoiding the explosions that were taking place on the ground only to have the wind knocked out of her by a kick from Krista.

"Although I respected you in the beginning," Krista said while landing another kick on Martha, sending her down to the ground.

A resounding thud echoed as Martha’s back collided with the ground.

"You’re not worthy of the respect I harbored," Krista finished, raising two fingers up and blasting Martha with a volley of soul weapons – each weapon piercing into Martha and detonating shortly after, coating Martha’s body in smoke.

The bottle containing the antidote rolled out of the smoke, unscathed from the explosions and Krista picked it up, walking to Cynthia. Upon reaching the blonde, Krista bit away the cork and forced the liquid down Cynthia’s throat.

Cynthia coughed shortly after and her blue eyes opened, gaining color.

"What... happened?" Cynthia asked weakly, she had just regained consciousness after all.

"It’s a long story," Krista replied with a sigh.

It had been a week since they were separated and the Apprentices were surviving rather nicely in the dangerous dungeon but the dangers had yet to unravel. One of the hooded figures stood atop a rocky pillar, her horns and crimson eyes visible.

"It took some time but I’ve found him," She said under her breath, "Should I signal the others or deal with him myself?"

Just a little bit away from this rock pillar was a makeshift camp, this was where Rem was staying and it would be a wise decision to attack him before he decided to change locations.

"Aegi didn’t deserve what he got," The demon said, "If they had let me attack the Monster Monarch beside him then there would have been no need for him to use the Void sacrifice – I won’t call them, I’ll avenge Aegi myself,"

And with those words, she vanished.

Meanwhile, the Healer and Rem were enjoying some Hellhound meat, perfectly cut and cooked by Rem to perfection.

"This tastes so good," Megan, the healer said with a bright smile.

Rem didn’t say anything, they were in a tent right now since he had shoved one into his Inventory a long time ago. He just feasted on the Hellhound meat silently, Deathwolves were lowly creatures at the bottom of the food chain so of course it would be hard to find any of them around – especially when almost all the Monsters in a dungeon were carnivorous.

He soon dropped the meat aside and began heading out the tent.

"Whatever you do, don’t dare to try and come out from the tent," Rem said, "No matter what,"

Megan nodded obediently and Rem left, zipping the tent closed. He began walking away from the tent, after walking a few meters away from the tent, he felt a presence behind him – Rem’s guard was instantly up... He could already guess it was one of those "Monsters In White"

"Did you come here for revenge?" Rem asked.

At first there was silence and nothing other than a silent gust of wind – but wind? In a rocky dungeon?

Rem spun around almost instantly coming face-to-face with a spear seemingly made of wind magic. He side-stepped to the right and dodged the Spear narrowly.

"You’re faster than before," A feminine voice said and Rem found himself looking at one of the people in white, she was far more powerful than Aegi, "What are you feeling right now? After killing Aegi?"

Rem shrugged.

"I’m not sure I feel anything," Rem said, "He came at me with the intention to kill so it was either him or me, and he got the short end of the stick,"

The figure trembled under her cloak but Rem wasn’t done yet.

"But this setting is perfect, your buddies aren’t around to watch me or to back you up," Rem said, "I can go all out,"
