The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 125: Blood Scorpions
Zarchary gritted his teeth upon retracting his tendril, clearly disappointed at the fact Rem had escaped instantly. He then looked behind and gawked in amazement – the treasure that they had recovered... was gone as well.
"That was quick," He muttered under his breath as he observed the wisp of ashes, they had once been Aegi, "Even I didn’t expect he would have Holy flames or even master Aegi’s skill in a single moment – the Monster Monarch sure is a rare one,"
"I can sense some humans coming our way!" Zarchary spoke up and the others nodded, "Let’s go, Let’s chase down the Monster monarch!"
And they vanished into thin air just as Yokama and the others arrived, astounded at the amount of destruction that had occurred just under their noses – it was unnatural.
"They’re nowhere to be found," Yokama muttered under his breath, he was sure he felt several powerful presences while coming here, "The Apprentices – everyone... Where did they go?"
There wasn’t supposed to be any threats in the territory, as the Spider had already been handled with but the Apprentices as well as the defense force responsible for guarding them had all vanished without a trace – alarming him.
"What the fuck happened here?" The Captain cursed under his breath, a headache coming up just by thinking about what was happening.

Rem emerged from the ground, his back slamming against the floor and the wind knocked out of him – besides him was the pile of treasure that he had managed to secure right under their noses.
He sat up and the first thing he did was to deactivate his Beastkin form, the adrenaline and power in his body that he had been feeling during his battle against Aegi all vanished, he was back at Base strength.
He hadn’t even gotten the time to check on what skills he had managed to gain from Aegi because the strongest one there had thrown an attack at him. As soon as he glimpsed at the skill he wanted – Shadow Jump... he willed himself and the treasure to submerge within the shadows, just like Aegi had done to everyone.
Now that he was away from danger, he got a good chance to look at the gains from the battle with Aegi and his eyes widened.
’Once again, what’s with these people and forbidden skills?’ Rem thought while managing a deep breath, he already had one which was the Holy Flame sacrifice gotten from Arya and he had to use it mindfully, careful to not draw upon too much power.
[’Shadow Demon’ soul has been successfully absorbed]
[’Shadow Demon Henchman’ can be summoned]
[You have gained Void Sacrifice]
[You have gained Unique Skill: Shadow Tendril (B-grade), Shadow Jump (B-grade), Shadow Twist (A-grade)]
’Apart from the Void sacrifice, the others are pretty good and will be helpful,’ Rem thought and stood up, looking around energetically, ’Now where am I?’ 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
A screech interrupted his thoughts as a Monster charged toward him... A Scorpion-like monster that stood at about two meters tall with glowing blue eyes, at a glance one could also see that their skin was brimming with scales making it hard for even blades to cut through, it’s tail twisted in the air menacingly and Rem stared at it.
[Blood Scorpion, C-grade]
Rem instantly pulled his guard up, not because of the Monster’s grade but because there were a lot of them, charging at him. He cocked his arm back, letting it bask in glorious crimson flames before shooting several balls of flame forward, each of them engulfing the bunch of Scorpions that had been coming for him – despite watching them being burned by the flames, his instincts warned him and Rem jumped into the air, just in time to avoid several large needles, each of them shooting into the ground where he had just stood.
Rem flipped mid-air to sight a larger Blood scorpion, the leader of the pack standing behind the others menacingly – it’s murderous intent being unleashed upon Rem but the Apprentice merely grinned before pulling out his Shortsword, tugging on the handle with efficiency.
’An ambush, huh?’ Rem thought as he descended from the air, toward the space he had once been in – not only was it sabotaged by needles, it was also crawling with Blood scorpions – each of them shooting mini-needles toward him, ’They all seem hungry,’
Rem used his shortsword to deflect every single attack that came his way with ease, adrenaline pumping through his veins – he almost wanted to use the Beastkin form once again, to feel the boost of power but he decided against it, that would be too much of an overkill against these Scorpions.
He closed in on the ground and the Scorpions chittered in delight, it was only a matter of time before their food would be in their tails... but they were unlucky as white flames befell just as Rem descending, cascading around the area and ravaging every single Scorpion that came in contact with it – they weren’t powerful enough to resist the Holy flames.
’If regular flames don’t destroy their armor then the Holy flames will do the trick,’ He thought and he was correct, the holy flames completely destroyed every Scorpion – except the Leader of course since it was a B-grade, its armor was very hard and sturdy.
Rem pulled his Shortsword out of the ground, his body brimming with energy as green flames of soul energy engulfed his eyes – with each Monster he absorbed, he felt closer to unlocking something deep within him.
The Leader Blood Scorpion noticed the change in Rem’s aura, and it’s tail flung around in the air crazily as it’s blue eyes shimmered... several large needles shot through the air at Rem but just as they were about to hit him, he lifted his Shortsword and deflected all of the needles..
Seeing this the Scorpion took several steps backward, shooting several more needles at Rem but the Apprentice moved past each needle with fluent and accurate dodges, the needles in question slammed into the wall behind Rem as he appeared in front of the Blood Scorpion, his Shortsword raised above his head and brimming with holy flames.

Author’s Note:
Now this is where the true horror of the B-grade dungeon begins, they’ve been separated and it’s only a matter of time before some people start dying, further decreasing their chances of exiting.
