The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 117: Dungeon’s Horror (Part 3)
[Octopian, B-grade Mutation]
The attacking force took action quickly, their respective weapons wrapped in Soul energy. The Channelers fell onto their knees, their eyes focused on the tentacles below and magical energy seeped through the tentacles – To prevent elevating even further, Mina raised her hands up and the tentacles underneath their feet were covered in an insanely pinkish bubble of magical energy, stopping the tentacles from elevating further.
Upon seeing this, the tentacle monster expanded it’s tentacles from the ceiling and prepared to engulf as well as consume the Raiders but the Ten Magus in the Attacking force were faster, sending a flurry of elemental attacks right at the tendrils – destroying them within an instant although more tendrils easily sprouted into view, spiraling downward.
The Captain leapt off of the tentacles and began a free fall, both of his hands gripping his Magic Steel sword as a terrifying amount of crimson energy leaked out of the blade. With a single vertical slash, the tentacles which had threatened to push them toward the Apex predator were split apart by a crimson arc of soul energy... The Captain landed on the ground and saw the party rapidly falling, Mina quickly shifted her focus from the tentacles which had been sliced apart to the safety of everyone.
The Pink aura wrapped around each and every one of them like bubbles, slowing their fall down but even the bubbles wouldn’t be enough and then a terrific gust of wind appeared below them in a spiral, slowing them down. Rem took in a deep breath while silently hoping things went as planned, as if following his thoughts, several blue tendrils shot from a wall and wrapped around the Channelers – dragging them out of their respective bubbles and into the darkness of the Dungeon.
The Captain neither the others could react to the Channelers being kidnapped as the Predator’s tentacles had grown even larger, it threatened to reach them as they slowly descended. Several tentacles had made decent distance, so much distance that Rem could even see their slimy outlines but the Captain had already snapped into action, running on the wall and holding his sword with two palms – crimson energy blared around the blade as he sent several slashes into the air, each slash converging and obliterating a tentacle.
The Apprentices, no matter how skilled they were, no matter how much talent they had, no matter if they had the potential to become even Monarchs – they could do nothing at this point, surrendered to being assisted by other people... they had no chance against this Octopus entity.
The balls soon landed on the ground safely and vanished, Mina collapsed to her feet and the Tall Cavalier picked her up, heaving her over his shoulders as he turned to the Apprentices, everyone could see a tinge of fear in his eyes.
"Run," He muttered as more tentacles began shooting down from the air, The Apprentices broke into a run, the Silver haired boy turned toward the tentacles swirling in the air and his blue eyes flashed.
Several explosions rang out across the tentacles but it only took a glance to find out that they didn’t do anything – his Magical energy wasn’t strong enough to make a dent in the defenses of such a Monster. Rem kept running forward, the tentacles shot after the Apprentices but they were quickly handled by a single arc of crimson soul energy from the Captain, Rem witnessed the arc slice nearly 5 tentacles apart.
Some minutes later, The defensive formation deployed around the Apprentices as they had made a considerable distance, enough for the Tentacles to not pose a challenge. Everyone watched with bated breaths as the Attacking force began to press unto the Monster...
The Fire and Lightning Magus were deployed first, they stayed a considerable distance away from the Monster and fired off several rounds of their powerful spells to weaken the monster as well as push back the Tentacles. Streaks of flames and blue lightning soon filled the air, ultimately after tasting a few rounds, the Octopian was forced to withdraw it’s tentacles and this was where the second Deployment came in handy. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
While the first set kept turning up the heat, two other sets of Magus – An aqua Magus as well as a grass Magus advanced closer to the Octopian, the Octopian tried to grab them with it’s tentacles but a blitz of flames engulfed the tentacles that threatened to come their way, the Fire magus reminded the Octopian that he was still in the battle.
Being forced to withdraw, the Monster couldn’t do anything and the grass Magus and Aqua Magus began executing their respective spells – the ground parted as several roots sprouted from the ground and onto the ceiling, nestling around where the Octopian lay.
The Aqua Magus stomped his foot on the ground, after a short chant, Black water began shooting out of his palms – with the help of a root made by the grass magus, he was able to douse the roots in this black water and this made Rem curious, what exactly was this Black water?
After that, both Magus escaped... The Flame Magus then cocked his arm back, starting up a chant... His palm was soon bathed in a crimson glow, he brought his arm forward and fired several fireballs at the roots which had been bathed by the Black water.
As soon as the flames met the roots, they got set on fire – the hot raging flames streaked into the air and traversed across the roots toward the Octopian, converging upon it’s valiant figure which was lodged into the ceiling.
The red hot flames burned against it’s orange skin, having been amplified by the Black water, the flames were raging even more than usual, cries from the Octopian could be heard even from where Rem and the other Apprentices stood... the flames ravaged it’s figure but that wasn’t all, the Captain planted his feet into the ground and his blade vibrated with crimson soul energy.
He slashed at the air and an arc of soul energy followed, rippling through the air and penetrating the Octopian’s skin instantly.
A true battle of the dungeon was occurring and Rem didn’t want to miss a beat.
