The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 116: Dungeon’s Horror (Part 2)
The soul weapons danced in the air, each of them mirroring a force to be reckoned with as they shot through the air with pinpoint accuracy – every weapon found it’s mark, stabbing into several monsters.
The others were shocked out of their stupor when a purple blur of soul energy went through the monsters as well, a young woman moving so fast that the Monsters couldn’t read her movements, she blitzed through a couple of Monsters with ease. The girl suddenly appeared, monsters around her decimating into nothing but bits mid-air as she tucked her blade into it’s sheath.
’Olivia,’ The Tall Cavalier thought, ’She’s a mysterious one but when push comes to shove, she’s one of the most powerful people here,’
His eyes left Olivia shortly after as another silent blitz occurred, this time they couldn’t see the attacker – Cynthia had cloaked herself with her stealth skill and was now dealing damage to the horde of monsters, they were unable to perceive her and so they weren’t able to react to their swift deaths.
’It’s not everyday you see someone awaken a Stealth skill,’ The Tall Cavalier thought, the other Apprentices had moved into the battle as well, the Tall Cavalier glanced at them and knew that this would truly unlock their Unrealized potential.

"We’ll rest here today," The Captain said as he stabbed his Magic Steel sword into the ground, managing to glance behind as the force under his command as well as the Apprentices who were meant to be worked on – the more he looked at Rem, the more he felt something stir within him... Something he had long since forgotten.
The Beastkin blinked, it took him seconds to realize where he had seen such a similar face and a small smile spread across his lips.
’So he’s the small brat from then,’ The Captain thought and suddenly the ground started rumbling... he looked at the ground and web-like cracks began forming, several tentacles emerged from the ground.
"Jump!" The Captain ordered while bending his knees and leaping into the air, the others did the same but the Apprentices and their group were late – several tentacles converged on the spot where they stood, threatening to impale and devour them but a pink energy wrapped around every single tentacle which had sprouted from the ground, stopping them from advancing further.
"Mina, you shouldn’t push yourself too hard," The Tall Cavalier said to a member of the Defensive force, he was talking to a Magus that stood right in front of Rem, her palms encased in a pinkish bubble of soul energy.
"I have to," Mina said and with a grunt, a wave of destruction occurred – the pink energy wrapping around every tentacle suddenly twisted and constricted causing the tentacles to explode into pools of green blood, painting the once rocky ground of the clearing that they planned to rest on in a deep shade of green.
The energy around the Magus’s hands vanished and she staggered backward a bit but regaining her posture a moment later, all of the Apprentices looked at the green blood painting the ground – they had been too slow to react to the growing tentacles.
"Things like this are usually common in a B-grade dungeon," A Cavalier next to them explained, "This happens when a Monster leaves a trap behind and the Raiders walk into it, so always keep your eyes peeled and your weapons ready – don’t ever let your guard down or you’ll die in this dungeon,"
The Cavalier threw a meaningful glance at Rem who had already unclasped his sword.
’His instincts are sharp but what did he plan to do with a Sword against hundreds of tentacles?’ He thought while Rem sheathed his sword – if he had paid more attention to Rem’s sword, he would have seen the iron already begin to heat up. Rem sheathed his blade in disappointment, he was certainly interested in this skill.
’I still need a way to deal with these Channelers,’ Rem thought as he watched the Captain and the rest of the attacking force land on the green ground, the green blood painting their shoes. Rem’s arms fell and he sighed under his breath – their existences were making it hard for him to absorb souls, he was only able to absorb a small fraction of monsters earlier for fear that they would notice it.
’Once I deal with the Channelers, I can increase my strength safely,’ Rem thought – nobody other than the Channelers had a special ability to see the souls, and although they could see the soul, they had no use for it but their existence was a problem to Rem’s abilities as it centered around the Soul.
Rem could also feel far too many gazes on him so even if he tried to do something, he would be found out immediately. It was either to wait for Nature to run it’s course or for him to ensure that they died.
And eventually they set out on another walk to find a suitable place to camp only for the Attacking force as well as the defensive force to raise their guards – even Rem’s instincts were blaring at him, he sensed a powerful presence befall each and every one of them, one perfectly capable to match his current strength.
The ground around them was soon riddled with small tentacles, large purple tentacles burst out of the ceiling above them and an Octopus-like monster which released a powerful Murderous intent. This was the first presence he had seen in the dungeon that was capable of stirring fear in his heart...
He had worked for his strength, absorbing several Monsters and even facing off against the Holy demon – putting himself near death on several occasions, only to find a Monster which was effortlessly able to match himself in strength, it felt annoying to him, stirring a sense of anger within his soul but Rem repressed it, seeing the Captain step back.
The tentacles on the ground grew in size and soon pushed them off the ground, right toward the Apex predator whose tentacles danced in the air effortlessly, it was going to feed on it’s prey.
