Chapter 102: Mutated Dungeon Boss (Part 2)

The tendrils fell to the ground, their metallic figures making metallic sounds as they created craters on the rocky ground. The boss screeched and Rem continued, moving forward on the ceiling with soul energy laced in his movements.

It’s four crimson eyes locked onto Rem, filled with hate but it didn’t dare expel Murderous intent for the fear of it’s power being surpressed... Rem leapt off the ceiling and closed in on the boss.

With one final screech, it sent several needles converging onto Rem.

"You ought to have learned your lesson by now," Rem muttered as slimes engulfed his body and hardened, forming a shield against the needles. After the needles had stopped pelting, Rem pulled back the slime and sent two bullets of wind shooting through the air and smashing onto the Boss’s forehead.

It had already been weakened a lot in this fight and these attacks succeeded in making it stagger backward, if that wasn’t enough – at the far corner of the room, a fissure was starting to form...

Rem kept falling from the air, the Spidergob focused it’s energy and sent a tendril at him. Rem took hold of his bigger Magic Iron sword and smashed it against the side of the incoming tendril as soon as it approached him. He used this to maintain leverage despite falling down, sparks engulfed the blade as it kept on traveling down the metallic tendril and the spider saw this so it quickly retracted it’s tendril only for Rem to throw his sword forward with soul energy, striking the Boss in one of it’s eyes... it’s screams intensified and Rem’s eyes flashed, the soul energy around them increasing as he kept on firing bullets of wind at the sword, pushing the blade deeper within the eye.

Rem’s feet touched the ground finally and he stomped before raising four fingers into the air, a rumbling sound went through the room as clouds began gathering within the enclosed space – as Rem expected, it would cost more magical energy to ensure that the thunder clouds are formed but once they were... they rumbled, their figures glistening with lightning.

The Boss’s eyes locked on Rem and it concentrated magical energy in front of it, turning it into a glistening orb of destructive energy. The wind around the boss swirled, Rem’s handsign glowed and soon five bolts of lightning descended from the air and each converged on the Spidergob...

A powerful shockwave pushed Rem backward, his hair flailing uncontrollably in the wind but the glow in his eyes never vanishing – expectancy appeared in his eyes, he wanted... he wanted the boss to survive, so they could continue the fight.

Pillars of smoke and dust painted the battlefield, the silence was unbearable and it seemed like the Spidergob anomaly was dead. A screech echoed through the room, rocks shattering and web-like cracks spreading all over the ground. The Boss staggered from the wreckage, it’s once thick powerful body had been cut open at different sides, blood profusely leaking from each side... Rem felt confident in himself.

*Screech*

A higher pitched screech echoed around the battlefield, more intense than the first one and then the Boss released Murderous intent in an attempt to suppress Rem... only a single crimson eye locked onto Rem now, the rest had been destroyed by the Shockwave attack.

Rem took a step back, feeling the Murderous intent attempting to press him down.

"You don’t really learn your lesson, do you?" Rem asked while the Boss took multiple steps closer, preparing to kill Rem only for an intense pressure to press it down – the murderous intent in the air enveloped the boss, Rem gritted his teeth and his right palm was soon engulfed by a blade of soul energy.

He glared at the boss and began a sprint, his feet pushing off the ground and creating a crater as he shot through the air... This was the final collision.

The spider cried, barely managing to raise two tendrils forward to intercept Rem mid-air – the pressure from Rem’s murderous intent was too much for it. Rem landed on the first tendril and began racing up the spider, the other tendril threatened to smash upon him but Rem’s soul sickle was strong enough to cut through the entire tendril with one swing.

The other tendril fell to the ground and the spider shrieked, Rem continued his sprinting, he pointed his other hand at the eye of the Boss and flames began revolving around them... balls of flames burst forth from his palms, each of them slamming into the eye of the Boss.

A pained cry escaped the Spidergob as more and more flames raged across the Boss, engulfing the Boss within them... Rem leapt off the tendril and descended rapidly at the Boss’s face, cocking his arm back and pumping it with even more soul energy.

Upon reaching the forehead of the Boss, Rem stabbed his Soul sickle in it and pierced it at once but he didn’t stop – he pulled it out, and pushed it in and repeated it... blood splashed in the air, blood painted Rem but he didn’t seem to care.

Eventually the Boss toppled over and slammed into the ground, sending one last shockwave echoing across the boss room.

Rem pulled out his scythe and it faded, the blue portal for exit appeared in the center of the dungeon and he looked back at the huge boss doors and then back to the Boss, he then absorbed the Boss’s soul and began walking toward the huge towering doors which were shut.

The sounds of battle could be heard from the opposite side of the door, it was still going on despite him having already finished up his own battle – Rem had sustained minor wounds in the confrontation and the healing steam covered all of them equally, he was prepared for the next battle although the opponents would be weaker than what he was used to.

"I guess it’s time to kill," Rem muttered with a shrug and pushed open the doors.
