Jax knocked on my apartment door and we waited. After a few minutes, the door opened. Devon ushered us inside and I could see that he was fighting a smile. Bethany was seated on the couch, typing away on the phone I gave her when she looked up and saw us. There was a teasing smile on her lips threatening to show but she held herself back.

"Good afternoon to the wildest couple in the world." She said as I quickly sat down beside her. "Have you had breakfast? Oh, wait. I’m very sure you both have eaten." She said and I frowned. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

"Actually, we haven’t. I wanted to go out and get something and I was wondering if you would like to come, Devon." Jax offered and I smiled. After the Jax’s attitude yesterday, I didn’t think he would try to befriend Devon anytime soon.

"I’ll join you downstairs." He said as he walked towards the room and Jax walked towards me. He held my chin, lifting my face up and giving me a kiss. When he let go of me, I blushed hard causing him to smile before walking away. I didn’t want to look at Bethany because I knew she would definitely have something to say.

Devon walked out of the room and came over to Bethany he gave her a kiss on her forehead. "I’ll see you later." He said as he walked away. As Devon closed the door, Bethany turned to me.

"You and Jax are like rabid dogs. I honestly thought you were going to sleep until I started hearing you moaning." Bethany said and we both laughed. "Devon and I had to go to the room so that we wouldn’t hear you."

"Tell me that you guys didn’t do anything." I teased and she smiled. "You see. You shouldn’t really judge."

"Oh, come on. We still heard you this morning especially the part where Jax was telling you to come for him or he’s not going to stop." Bethany mimicked Jax and I felt mortified.

"I’m so sorry. I didn’t think the walls were that thin. I’m going to tell Jax." I said as Bethany laughed.

"It’s nothing to apologize about. It’s not like Devon and I are any different. We had sex the day we knew we were mates. That’s saying a lot about us whereas the both of you are just making up for lost time." Bethany pointed out and I nodded. She was kind of right. Jax had once mentioned that when I was away, it was like he was constantly on heat and that prompted him to start casually sleeping around. Apparently, he was just looking for a quick fix. "I don’t think Devon and I have as much chemistry as you and Jax."

"And I don’t think our relationship is as stable as yours." I pointed out. "Why do you think so?"

"Sometimes I want to be spontaneous but he doesn’t. He’s a bit more laid back than I thought and I’m not angry about it but sometimes I would like for him to initiate sex or be very romantic." She complained. Now I understood what she meant. When it came to being romantic or even intimidating sex, Jax and I were on the same level. I didn’t even need to say anything, he’ll just know what I was thinking. Jax also wasn’t the type to shy away from public displays whereas, I didn’t like it. Maybe a little hand holding and small kisses but I couldn’t take to the extreme but Jax didn’t care about anything.

"Maybe try talking to him about it. Even if he’s not the type to initiate, he might try to. Just tell him what you want and see where it goes from there." I advised as she nodded. One thing Jax and I did was talk even if we still held some things back from each other.

"I want to confess. I lied yesterday." Bethany admitted and I frowned. "When I said I faked an orgasm and it was Devon. It was him. It was one random time and I faked it. I don’t know why."

"Was it that bad?" I asked and he nodded while looking down at her fingers as she played with them. "Beth, did you at least talk to him after?" I asked as she shook her head.

"How do you expect me to say something. He was talking about how it was so good and he wished we had found out we were mates earlier. I couldn’t break his spirit." Bethany voice got low. "I think he must have noticed. He’s really great but I have to be the one to initiate it. He’s not really the sensual type."

The door opened and we both turned in shock to look at who it was. Jax and Devon walked into the apartment.

"Change of plans. We ordered some food." Jax said as he walked up to me and sat on the arm rest. "How are you?"

"I’m good." I said as he kissed my forehead. He gave Bethany a look and I wondered why.

"We are going back to the other apartment." Jax said as he took my hand in his and pulled me off the couch. He stood up and led me out of my apartment. I gave Bethany one last look and she was as confused as I was.

"Baby, what’s going on?" I asked as he fished for the apartment key in his pocket. He pulled it out and opened the door to the other apartment.

"You know we can hear whatever you’re thinking right? I just kind of turned it off and I know you did too but Devon and Bethany fully use their mate bond." Jax said as he pulled me into the apartment. "Devon kind of heard Bethany thinking about how unromantic Devon was and he wasn’t in the mood to go out." I closed the door behind me, making sure to lock it. "I, kind of, jokingly told him to go back in there and fuck the brains out of Bethany so that she can shut up."
