The Lycan king-Chapter 46
*Leonora*
It had been three months. Three months of just happiness- for the first time in my life I was happy. Yes, my heart still longed for Jax but things were so much different here, better even. So many nights I wanted to creep out and go back to check on Jax, to see how he was faring. I wanted to be sure if staying at this pack was the best thing for both of us.
"I love you, Nora." Those words he said were still etched in my mind and as much as I wanted to forget him, I didn’t want to forget that night. The night he held me and kissed me and made love to me like he had be starving for me. That night when it felt like we could have a chance, a shot at happiness.
I dropped my sword on the floor and began my walk to Luke’s hut, or should I say our hut. It was a weird dynamic that I still wasn’t used to. I had noticed that Luke was getting clingy and in some ways I liked it and it made me feel special but I didn’t know how to tell him that I still felt something for Jax. I didn’t want to tell him that I had been craving to see Jax, to let him hold me even if it was for just for a few minutes.
And to add to everything, the witch finally helped me to unlock my gift of healing. Secretly, she trained me on how to use my powers. She also made me promise her not to tell anyone especially Luke. I didn’t know why she was suspicious of Luke seeing as he was the King of her pack and she basically works for him.
I walked into the hut and quickly took off the body armpit I wore. I trained everyday with Luke and the rest of the pack. Luke still hadn’t told me of his plans for Jax and I kept reminding him that hurting Jax was out of it. He kept assuring me that he wouldn’t but I just knew to keep letting him know my stance on it. I didn’t want Jax to get hurt. I don’t think my wolf would be able to bear the sight of Jax dead.
It was getting dark and I was waiting for Luke to sleep off. I had a mission on my mind and if I told him, it would have sounded ridiculous. I wanted to see Jax. I just wanted to just see if he was doing okay and it would also help me spy on the pack and it’ll be useful for Luke. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
I couldn’t tell him my plan because he would tell me how insane it was. I knew it was insane but I was the one that had to deal with my wolf for three months.
"How was training?" Luke said as he walked in with a towel wrapped around his waist. I turned around giving him the privacy he needed. "It’s funny how you keep turning every single time. We’re literal roommates."
"Yes but everyone needs privacy sometimes." I said, still not wanting to turn around. I heard his clothes ruffle and after what seemed like a few minutes, I turned around to see him lying on his bed with his hands behind his head.
"I might be asleep by the time you get back from the river." He said and I nodded. I picked up my dress and headed out of the hut. I made my way over to the river. I looked around to see if anyone was watching and when it seemed like no one was, I walked in the opposite direction of the pack. I used my memory to trace my way back to Jax’s pack. It was so crazy that both pack were literally beside each other but Jax didn’t know.
From what I was told, Luke’s witch was among the few oldest witches in the area, meaning she was way more powerful than most witches.
I creeped into the borders of the forest, hoping that the ritual the witch did on me wouldn’t stop working because I was in another pack. I spotted two figures standing close to the border of the forest. I inhaled and it was Jax. It was his scent. I walked quickly, still hiding from anyone else. I saw him walk closer to the other person and pulled them for a hug. I stopped in my tracks.
This was not why I wanted to see. Since I was closer, I could easily make out that it was Claire. They both finally got what they wanted. I took a step back and I heard a twig snap from impact.
"Who is that?" I heard Jax ask as he pulled away from Claire. I turned around and slowly walked, not wanting to draw anymore attention to myself. "Stop right there!" I heard a few feet away from me and I stopped in my tracks. If I continued, he would have followed me and I didn’t want him to know about Luke’s pack. I heard him walk closer to me and my heart pounded in my chest. I kept my head down so that he wouldn’t be able to tell it was me. He stopped right behind me and I could feel his body heat. "Who are you?"
There was no need to hide anymore. I lifted my head and turned around to look at Jax.
"Leo..." His voice trailed off as realization set in his eyes. "I knew it." He said as he wrapped his arms around me, forcing me into a hug. "I’ve missed you so much and I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry for everything, Leo. I’m never going to ever let you go again. I was so stupid."
"Step away from my Queen." I heard from behind me and Jax pulled away, his body stiffening as he stared behind me. I turned around to find Luke walking towards us. "Hello, little brother."
