Chapter 122: Chapter 122

I said into the air. I didn’t know if she was on the other side but I was being honest. I wasn’t going to punish her and keep her in the dungeon like last time.

"She said why are we feeling guilty and she deserved it. Also, she prefers the dungeon to being bound to Luke." Leonora answered and I sighed. "I’m feeling better but I’m hungry. I also need to feed him. He’s been crying and he needs me." I could tell that she was being attended to. "Jax, it’s getting late. We can come up with something in the morning or when I’m feeling a lot better."

"That’s okay. Do you think you can hang in there for a couple of hours?" I asked. I wanted to be sure that nothing was going to happen to her. I couldn’t tell what Luke was planning to do.

"It’s okay. Just knowing you’re here makes me feel safe." She said and it warmed me inside. "Please rest. Hopefully, Meredith will try to get the cloaking spell off." She assured me. I didn’t want to leave but I knew I had to. I had to go back and inform the other of what I knew. We also needed to figure out a plan. One that would involve saving Leonora and my baby and also taking Luke down all in the same breath.

"Us against anything." I whispered to her.

*Jax*

I woke up before the crack of dawn with determination written all over my face. I hadn’t felt like this in such a long time because I almost lost hope in finding Leonora but now that she was literally at my finger tips, I couldn’t hide it.

Everyone was already up. A part of me felt guilty that I made them sleep in the shrubs but it was a necessary evil. I would not go back without my Leonora and if it meant staying here for days, I was ready. Anything to get my family back.

"I can’t do it. She’s stronger than I am." I heard from behind me. I turned around to look at the witch who was seated with her legs crossed. "She would have to be the one to uncloak it herself."

"So you’re trying to say that I either have to join them or she unveils them?" I asked for confirmation and she nodded. This was terrible. The only thing I could do now was go back to Leonora. Maybe there was a way they could figure out something.

"Okay, stay here and figure out something. I’ll go back to Leonora to see if there’s a way." I said as I adjusted the dagger in my pocket. I wasn’t going to let Leonora stay past today.

"I’ll come with you." Bethany said as she got up from the floor. It was still dark a bit so it would be easy for the both of us to sneak around. "Stop standing and let’s move." Bethany called and we ran over to the hut. We both sat on the floor with our backs to the wall.

I couldn’t hear anything from Leonora, maybe she was still asleep. I didn’t mind waiting as long as I knew she was safe.

"Is she really in there?" Bethany whispered to me and I nodded. I knew they couldn’t really believe what I told them last night but I knew it was the truth.

"Beth? Are you there?" I heard Leonora’s voice softly call. It sounded like she was just waking up. I hated that we were the ones that woke her up.

"Yes, it’s me. Oh my goddess. Leonora, I’m so sorry. It’s all my-"

"It’s not your fault besides I’m feeling better. I took a lot of herbs last night. I can get up now." She said with so much happiness in her tone. I wondered what it was like all these while. "I just need to get my baby back. He has been crying. Claire doesn’t want to give him to me. Meredith said she’s going to try and uncloak Claire so you guys can get her and the baby first."

"Leonora, I want to make sure you’re safe first." I mentioned. "I’m going to save you and our baby together."

"No, save our baby first. I don’t want anything to happen to him." She ordered but I wasn’t going to listen to her. If I protect my baby and leave her, Claire would do what she wanted to Leonora and that was exactly what she wanted. She wanted Leonora gone.

And there was no way in hell, I would be able to raise my baby alone. There was no way in hell, I would let another woman raise my baby.

"Leonora, I do not care about whatever you’re saying right now. I’m going to protect the both of you and you will live with it." I stated. If she wasn’t going to go along with it then we would fight about it later. Now I just needed to secure them.

"Can you hear me?" Another voice sounded. "I’m Meredith. I know that you have someone trying to break the cloaking spell. I’m going to stop blocking her now."

"Thank you." Bethany chimed in immediately. "So what’s the plan?" She asked me as I turned to look at her.

"We’ll both go in. Once we sense anyone coming, one person will hide at the back of the makeshift door and attack." I suggested and she nodded. "Can we come in now?"

"Yes." I heard her say and I immediately got up from the floor. I didn’t bother with dusting off my clothes and I almost ran into the hut with Bethany following after me. As soon as I saw Leonora seated on the floor, I ran over to her and pulled her in for a hug.

"I missed you so much." I whispered in her ear. "I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault. Everything. I can’t believe I pulled you into my drama. I’m never letting you out of my sight again." I said as I placed a kiss on her head. I pulled away and looked at her. It looked like she had lost a bit of weight and I didn’t mean it in a good way. They were most likely starving her. Her belly was still round but it wasn’t as big as it used to be.

"I missed you so much." She muttered. I placed my hand on her belly and she gave me a small smile. "He’s here now and he looks just like you." She said as she placed her hand on mine. It felt like we were in our own little world. Not a single care for anyone else.

"Someone is coming." I heard Bethany say and I stood up quickly, pulling Leonora up. I stood in front of her shielding her from whoever was coming in.

"J-Jax." Claire said as she stepped into the room. "This is not what it looks like. I found Leonora here and I came to save her. Luke took her baby from her. I was just bringing him back. He needs to feed." She said as I walked towards her. I stretched out my hands and she begrudgingly placed my son in my arms. "We can raise him together. You know that she’s not fit enough-"

I watched as her body dropped to the floor.

Leonora*

"Did you kill her?" I shrieked as soon as Claire’s body hit the floor. I didn’t want Claire to die. Punished, yes but death? No. I didn’t want anyone to die.

"No, she’s unconscious and we’ll take her back to the pack." Bethany said as she walked towards me. "We need to get Luke." She mentioned as Jax turned over to me. He was cradling our baby and the sight brought tears to my eyes.

"Here. You can feed him now." He said as he handed my baby over to me. I cooed in my arms and tossed around a bit. He had a small cloth around him and nothing else. Claire and Luke had taken everything away from us. What would have been a special experience was ripped away from us.

I hugged him close to my chest. I knew I would never be able to let go of him ever again. Being away from him was horrible and I do not intend to ever experience it again.

"Beth, stay with her. I’ll get Luke and we’ll go home. Meredith, come with me." Jax ordered and he and Meredith walked away.

"Nora! I missed you so much. I’m so sorry that I didn’t protect you. I’m so sorry." Bethany said as she walked towards me and pulled me for a hug. She tried hard not to squeeze my baby and I was thankful for that.

You didn’t do anything. Luke is a vile creature. They kept me in the bunker for a while before moving me here." I opened up. There was so much I had to tell Jax.
