Chapter 415: 414. Back To Where He Belongs (3)

I returned back to Ryujin in the evening and went straight to my office as I had some letters to send.

I wrote the three drafts of the letters before I handed them to Esme.

"Have them sent within two days." I instructed and she nodded.

The preparations for Kai’s birthday were been made and I barely got to see Enora as she was juggling the preparations of both the party in the house and the festival in the Oasis.

"Roan," I spoke up making him him as he kept working.

"Give me the reports of Oasis," I spoke and he groped around his drawer keeping his hand moving as he wrote quickly and placed the large stack on his desk.

"Here," he spoke and I rolled my eyes before I stood up and got the stack.

I peeked into the calculations that he was doing and frowned a little.

"Wait, why do those figures look different?" I asked and he sighed clutching his head with one head.

"I’m wondering the same thing,"

"Which town is it from?"

"The small town of Slavenreach." He answered still trying to calculate.

"Leave it, I’ll check it later," I said and he slumped back in his seat, visibly exhausted.

"Go and get a break," I said and he looked at me, the dark bags hanging under his tired steel gr eyes.

"All right," he spoke and got up to his feet before staggering over to the couch and plopped down on it, dozing off in an instant.

I picked up the tax records of the small town, Eirn of Slavenreach before I walked back and sat down in my chair looking after the reports of Oasis while the other aides spoke amongst themselves.

"He must be really tired to fall asleep so quickly." Esme spoke.

"Well, he’s been working way past his official timings to keep up with work." Blake spoke.

"Isn’t Mr Roan from Mordino?" Esme wondered aloud.

"Mordino is growing quite well, even the trade relations are going smoothly, their new Queen is a good ruler."

My ears perked at the mention of Mordino and Miri.

"Hm, speaking the Queen of Mordino, she had her official debutante just a month ago, right? They sent Count Wallace as the representative of Sestia since none of the royals could travel." Blake spoke.

I read her letter after I had returned from Denril, so, I couldn’t congratulate her for her debutante. Still, it felt good to know that she had grown up well. Besides, in her last letter she spoke of a surprise, I wondered what it was. Was she going to send me a gift for my debutante despite me forgetting to send her one?

"Why don’t you two focus on your work? Master allowed only Mr Roan to take a break." Julio spoke curtly making the Esme flinch and Blake to scoff.

Just then there was a knock on the door and Remi walked in with Davian in tow.

"Good evening, Master." Davian smiled and Remi looked at Roan with a concerned look as he placed the tray of tea and refreshments.

"Don’t worry, Remi. He’s just sleeping because of overwork." Blake said and Remi sighed before he started brewing tea.

"Shall we take a break too?" Blake offered.

"Yes, my shoulders are killing me!" Esme groaned as she stood up followed by Blake and Julio and they sat down on the armchairs with Davian also sitting.

"Is Master busy?" Davian asked the three.

"Yes, Your Highness." Julio spoke.

The three then proceeded to talk in a low voice, as if that was going to make me not hear them.

"So, what were you all talking about?" Davian asked as he picked up his teacup.

"Oh, we were talking about the Queen of Mordino." Blake spoke excitedly.

"I heard she’s really beautiful and also quite intelligent." Esme spoke with a smile.

"I wish I could see her," Blake mumbled, "Ah, besides, Your Highness you had been to Mordino, right? Then, did you also meet the Queen? How does she look?"

"Stop behaving like a juvenile, Blake." Julio chided making Blake scoff.

"Admit it, Julio. Even you want to see the beautiful Queen of Mordino once." Blake teased.

"Whether I want to see her or not is my business. Besides, did you forget that our Master exchanges letters with that very Queen?" Julio shot at him and Blake gasped before his and Esme’s heads turned to look at me.

"Should we ask him if he would introduce us to her?" Blake’s voice dropped even more as they now leaned ahead.

"But what if they aren’t that close?" Esme wondered.

"Do you even know the frequency of letters that the Queen sends? She’s definitely close to Master." Blake hissed.

"They exchange letters?" Davian asked joining in.

"Yes, yes, there are at least three letters each month from Mordino for Master." Blake spoke.

"Well, considering Master had helped the Revolutionary army of Mordino so, it’s natural that they are close." Remi also joined in.

"What?!" Blake asked. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

"Yes, well, Master had disguised himself to prove," Remi paused for a moment, "The commander of the revolutionary army that he is on their side and I met him during that time."

"Ah, I’ve heard that story." Davian spoke and I heard the crunch of the cookie.

"Wait, what if they have an affair though?" Blake gasped.

"But isn’t the Queen quite young in age than Master?" Esme said.

"Are you joking? Just look at Master, the lady of any age would kill to be his wife." Blake whisper shouted.

"He’s still a bachelor, though. How sad!" Esme sighed.

"Hey, that’s not sad, Master is simply keeping himself for the one who is trule made for him." Blake said.

"What kind of lady is Master’s type though?" Davian asked.

There was a moment of silence and I peeked a glance at them, they all had their heads down, leaning closer, except for Julio who sipped his tea quietly.

"Considering, Master is extremely strong and smart maybe he likes the girl who’s also intelligent." Esme offered.

"All right, intelligence, what else?" Davian spoke as if he was making a list.

"Oh, she should be as beautiful as Master though." Blake spoke, "Anything less than divine beauty would be pale beside Master."

"Beauty," Davian nodded.

"She could be a cheerful young lady who would be innocent, the kind of lady who would make Master protect her at all times." Esme offered.

"What about the intelligent vixen type lady who would have Master wrapped around her fingers?" Blake suggested.

"Someone who would be perfect by Master’s side." Remi pondered.

"I personally like the kind and innocent lady." Esme said.

"I prefer the vixen and sexy type." Blake said, "Hey, Julio, what do you think?"

"Keep me out of this," Julio spoke dryly.

"What about you, Your Highness? What kind of lady do you think would suit Master?"

Davian was quiet for a moment before he spoke, "Someone who wouldn’t be dependent on him but also the kind who would make him run to her when she calls."

"What kind of lady is that?"

"The kind who would have Master wrapped around her finger." Davian spoke, I could sense the smirk in his tone.

"Yes! See, Esme, I told you the vixen and sexy type fits Master the most!" Blake almost shouts but then received a pillow smack on his face.

"Why don’t you all idiots shut up?!" Roan groaned.

"We’re sorry, Mr Roan. Were we too loud?" Esme spoke.

"Ow, sorry, Mr Roan." Blake groaned.

"You all are so dumb I couldn’t even..." He sighed, I guess he didn’t notice that Davian was also there.

"Are you also calling me dumb?" Davian asked.

"If you’re going to discuss about such a dumb topic then everyone of you are dumb." Roan spoke, his voice was muffled as if he was speaking with his face buried in the pillow.

"How so? It’s an important topic, we’re speaking about our future Madam!" Blake defended himself.

I heard a sigh from Roan before he spoke, "Master is a Dragon, so, his partner should be the one who could stand by his side and is capable of fighting and having a sensible and sharp brain. If Master is capable of raising an army then his partner should be capable of erasing an army. There you have it."

I smirked as I heard his answer, well, it was true. I needed someone who would be close to me in strength and planning skills. Since I had a lot of work so, I would need someone who could become a partner to me in all senses.

"Is there even a lady who would match this description?" Blake wondered.

"I can’t think of anyone," Esme admitted.

"Our Master is doomed to stay a bachelor all his life," Blake sniffled while the others stayed quiet.

After that ridiculous discussion about my future partner, two days passed by and the replies of my letters came as the men who showed up in Ryujin mansion.

The four Lords of the Underworld cities, the head of the noble families who were closely associated to me and Oasis, my Grandfather, father and brother, and Silas.

It was time for me to lay out my plan of reinstating Eric into the royal palace and for that I would need these men.
