The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two-Chapter 214: Henry Jennings to Form a Marriage Alliance with the Sterling Family Too?
"As far as I know, Yvette Aston is just your personal assistant. If Mr. Grant agrees, I’m willing to offer her triple the salary to bring her over." Harrison Sterling’s voice was low as he gazed at Yvette Aston. "Or, you can name your terms."
Ethan Grant gave Harrison Sterling a once-over. "It’s a shame President Sterling didn’t replace Paige Fulton in the entertainment circle; you’re everywhere with so much drama."
Harrison Sterling took a deep breath, choosing to ignore Ethan Grant.
In his view, anything Harrison Sterling wanted, even with a strong competitor like Ethan Grant, was just a matter of time before he got it.
"Mr. Grant, you’d better worry about yourself first. I’m not the only one who’s been involved in lots of drama lately." Harrison Sterling said lightly, glancing at the time. "I’ll have someone send over Baron’s living supplies. Our little Baron only drinks milk flown in from Zealandia, and only eats organic, pesticide-free vegetables. The fruits must be imported from Rividia."
"..." Yvette Aston instinctively glanced at Ethan Grant. Before she entered Ethan Grant’s place, Ethan Grant’s butler also strictly controlled the ingredients.
Since she arrived by Ethan Grant’s side, Ethan Grant seemed to be less picky about everything.
Ethan Grant ignored Harrison Sterling, rather considering him somewhat excessive.
"Baron has a weak heart; he’s prohibited from getting too emotional, crying, screaming, or intense exercise, prohibited from..."
"Alright, you talk as if you’ve personally taken care of the child." Ethan Grant really didn’t want to see Harrison Sterling anymore. "Hurry up and go, you’re so busy."
Harrison Sterling snorted, proudly glanced at the time again. "Baron, call Uncle if anything comes up."
Baron nodded.
Only then did Harrison Sterling leave with peace of mind.
Seeing Harrison Sterling had left, Ethan Grant kicked the door shut. So unlucky, late at night.
He really wanted to put up a sign at the community gate saying ’Biting dogs and members of the Sterling Family are not allowed in.’
Yvette Aston finally took a breath of relief.
Harrison Sterling’s aura was truly oppressive.
In the past, Yvette Aston felt the same way when she saw Ethan Grant, tension in her back, cold sweat all over.
But now... she seemed to slowly rely on him.
As long as Ethan Grant was there, she felt like she could be a little less on edge.
"Mommy..." Baron hid behind Yvette Aston in fear, afraid of Ethan Grant.
Summers tightly hugged Ethan Grant, afraid Baron would compete with him for their father.
"Dad is mine." Summers declared his claim early.
"I don’t want to compete with you." Baron snorted arrogantly.
Ethan Grant raised an eyebrow and smiled at Yvette Aston. "Let the two kids get to know each other; let’s go to bed."
Yvette Aston was a bit worried, concerned that Summers and Baron wouldn’t get along.
"I want to sleep with Mommy." Baron refused to let go of Yvette Aston.
Ethan Grant was frightened, looking to his son for help.
Summers received the SOS signal and stuck his tongue out at Baron. "Young Master is really cowardly, still needing company to sleep and crying his eyes out, while I was sleeping alone by the age of two or three."
Baron puffed up his cheeks and put his hands on his hips. "I am not, I just want to sleep with Mommy."
"My mommy doesn’t like kids who aren’t independent, so I’ve always slept alone." Summers slid down from Ethan Grant’s arms. "Come on; I’ll show you my room, designed by Dad himself."
Summers extended his hand to Baron.
Baron looked curious and followed Summers out.
"It’s not as nice as the room my daddy gave me."
"As if, my dad also gave me these teddy bears."
"My daddy bought me limited editions, and lots of toy cars."
"..."
The two kids had already started competing over who had the better dad.
Neither yielding to the other.
Ethan Grant sighed in relief, pulling Yvette Aston into his embrace, raising the corners of his mouth. "Now, we won’t be disturbed."
...
Early the next morning.
At the police station, May Larson had been detained overnight, without anyone posting bail, and her complexion was extremely unpleasant.
She returned home, angry, and no one was there.
She called Caden Summers, but he didn’t answer.
May Larson sat on the sofa, unable to wait for Caden Summers at all.
Since she couldn’t wait for Caden Summers, May Larson planned to go continue looking for Yvette Aston.
Just as she stepped out the door, she saw a black car waiting outside.
The car window rolled down, and inside sat Ethan Grant.
"Where’s Yvette Aston! Have her come see me!" May Larson shouted angrily. "I’m her mother!"
"Then prove you’re her mother." Ethan Grant said calmly, gesturing for May Larson to get in the car.
"What do you mean?" May Larson eyed Ethan Grant suspiciously.
"Given your lying nature, I need to see medical evidence proving your relationship with Yvette Aston. I’ll take you for a paternity test with Yvette Aston, and until the results come out, I won’t let you see Yvette Aston." Ethan Grant warned May Larson not to try any tricks.
May Larson’s expression changed immediately. "You think just because you say so? Who are you to Yvette Aston? You rich people only know how to manipulate, who knows what you’re up to. I’m not going!"
Ethan Grant frowned, signaling the bodyguard in the car to get out.
The bodyguard got out of the car and approached, taking hold of May Larson. "Please cooperate."
May Larson was shocked, starting to yell. "Help! Someone’s kidnapping me!"
"Help!"
May Larson started throwing a fit, rolling around on the ground.
Ethan Grant frowned. It seemed May Larson was strongly resisting the paternity test, what was she afraid of?
"I’m just taking you for a paternity test; there’s no need to resist so much." Ethan Grant got out of the car and spoke in a deep voice.
"Mr. Grant, isn’t it a bit inappropriate to bully an elder so early in the morning?" At the end of the alley, Henry Jennings approached.
Ethan Grant’s face darkened. "Henry Jennings, you’re very idle."
"Likewise." Henry Jennings glanced at the time. "Mr. Grant, didn’t you also come here before heading to the office?"
Ethan Grant frowned. "Are you trying to stop me?"
Apparently, Henry Jennings knew he was trying to take May Larson for a paternity test.
"Here to stop your impolite behavior toward an elder." Henry Jennings smiled like a polite fox.
Seeing someone speaking for her, May Larson hurried to Henry Jennings’ side. "Exactly! So rude."
Henry Jennings continued to eye Ethan Grant dangerously.
Ethan Grant had no time to entangle with Henry Jennings here; after all, May Larson wouldn’t run away; she would keep troubling Yvette Aston.
It wouldn’t matter to go another day.
"Though you’re the sole heir of Apex, Old Master Jennings won’t hand it over to you so easily. I’ve heard he’s looking for a new marriage partner for you, even eyeing the Sterling Family?" Ethan Grant walked over to Henry Jennings. "The real heiress of the Sterling Family has been missing, and there’s only Paige Fulton, considered a non-blood-related recognized young lady of the Sterling Family."
"Paige Fulton." Henry Jennings repeated the name meaningfully.
Clearly, Old Master Jennings had that plan in mind.
"Best of luck." Ethan Grant smiled meaningfully and went back to his car.
Henry Jennings continued smiling as he watched Ethan Grant leave.
"And you are?" May Larson scrutinized Henry Jennings, seeing his expensive tailored clothing, able to speak as he did with Ethan Grant, he must be wealthy or noble.
"Madam, I am Henry Jennings, the father of Yvette Aston’s child." Henry Jennings said with a smile.
"You?" May Larson was initially stunned and then began to rant. "You’re the bastard? You seem quite wealthy, and you think you can walk away from what you’ve done to my daughter? I’m telling you, without a million... no, two million, this won’t be settled!"
Henry Jennings continued to smile deeply, taking out a card. "There’s five million on this card; if you help me with one thing, the money is yours."
