THE GOD EATER-Chapter 257: Two Mistakes.

Lady Red’s words jolted Amelia out of her reverie. She immediately dripped her blood on the stone and absorbed it into her energy well.

Loki didn’t know what she was doing, so his reaction to this behavior was mute. But Lady Red knew what Amelia was trying to do, so she frowned when she saw this.

Then she said, "Has your Dao Heart reached rank 5? If it hasn’t, doing this will kill you."

Amelia nodded and said confidently, "Don’t worry, senior Red, I know what I am doing."

Since she was so confident, Lady Red could only sigh and say, "Even if that’s the case, you should wait until you get somewhere private and safe to try it."

But Amelia shook her and said, "It is too valuable to keep around. I want to use it as soon as possible. Besides, I doubt I will be able to get a rank 5 being and a reincarnated rank 5 being to protect me."

Then she closed her eyes and became silent.

However, what she just said made Lady Amelia frown. She looked at Loki in suspicion and said, "So you’re the reincarnation of a rank 5 cultivator?"

Before Loki could reply, he saw the mark on her forehead flash briefly. Then the world around him disappeared.

Next, he felt a bout of dizziness as his vision tumbled and spun around. When he got his bearings again, he found himself in a world of fire.

The sky and the earth were burning with flames. There was also a colossal red bird burning in the sky and serving as the sun of this world.

Loki was rightfully confused by this sight. But he became certain that whatever was going on was an attack from Lady Red when she appeared in front of him.

He rushed to attack her, but found that he couldn’t move. He also discovered that he couldn’t activate his Life Ability.

He tried again and again and failed to activate any Metac, including the Rewind Metac. Apparently, he was completely helpless in front of her.

While he was doing this, she looked at him and shook her head in disappointment. Then she said, "You were confused when I brought you here. If your confusion was because you didn’t know where we are, it indicates that you have never been a rank 5 cultivator. Every rank 5 cultivator should be able to recognize a mental world when they see it.

"There is also the fact that I was able to bring you here forcefully without your agreement. This is definite proof that you have never been reincarnated. A mind as scattered as yours can never go through the cycle of reincarnation intact."

Loki didn’t deny her claims when she said them. It was mostly because he couldn’t say anything even if he wanted to. His mouth was sealed.

But even if he could speak, he didn’t have anything to say to prove his claim of being the reincarnation of a rank 5 being. So he could only remain silent and listen to her.

Fortunately, she didn’t expect anything from him. She had only brought him here to prove some things.

After saying those two things, she said, "I don’t care that you lied about your origin. What I care about is that you’re powerful and will be useful to me. At least, that’s what Amelia told me and why I decided to give you this opportunity."

"If you can help Amelia in that small world, you can surely help me in my quest to invade and conquer another small world. This small world will be intact, unlike the playground called the Earthly Battlefield."

"There will be a world will there, so defeating the forces of that small world will be more difficult. But I am sure that with the right preparations, we can do it."

"With your power and mine combined, we have at least a 60% chance of victory. We should be able to conquer the world and take its world heart."

Her voice became stern as she said, "And if we don’t succeed, you will surely die. I will make sure of that because I will kill you myself."

"But if we win, I will become a divine being and will help you in your quest to ascend too. I will also give you some of the spoils of war in the form of some world heart fragments."

She stared into his helpless eyes as she said, "I am not asking you if you will join me on the invasion or not. I’m sure that Amelia must have told you something about it. She had probably phrased it as if you had a choice in the matter and that it was an opportunity for you."

"But you don’t have a choice in this matter. You will follow me on that invasion and help me conquer the world, whether you like it or not."

"Don’t look at me like that. To ask for your opinion is to pretend that I care about your opinion and willing to accept your rejection."

"The truth is that I am not willing to accept the rejection, and I won’t pretend to or waste your time acting as if I care about your opinion. So it is a sign of my respect to you that I am telling you all of these upfront."

Then she asked, saying, "Do you understand me? Nod if you do."

Loki felt the force restricting his neck loosen. He still couldn’t speak, though. So he nodded in understanding to her.

She smiled and said, "Good."

Then the world of fire shattered around him.

He felt that same sense of vertigo and dizziness from earlier. But it was quick to disappear.

When he recovered, he found himself in his body again, and the world around him had recovered. He also realized that he could move his body again.

So what he did was to step back and put some distance between himself and her. He also used the Power Identification Ability on her.
