The First Immortal of Destiny-Chapter 581: Long Journey, Talent Promotion_1
As for Yuan Jing, the Bright Moon Peak Master who is under "soft detention," if an opportunity arises, Shen Mo will naturally rescue him, but there's no need to force it.
There are hundreds of powerful figures in the Golden Core Realm within the Heaven Patrolling Temple, and even a Heavenly Monarch in the Divine Bridge Realm who disregards forbidden lands. It would be as difficult as ascending to heaven for Shen Mo, a mere Golden Core Realm practitioner, to rescue Yuan Jing.
Moreover, with two factions within their ranks vying for power, they likely wouldn't harm Yuan Jing.
The Riverside Sect and the other Five Great Sects might negotiate terms with the visiting envoys and perhaps even persuade the Heaven Patrolling Temple to release Yuan Jing!
Accompanying Shen Mo was Flower Fairy Ami.
She brought her clan's treasures, the Golden Flowery Realm and the Mother Tree's green leaves, preparing to showcase her abilities in the Heaven Patrolling Zone and search for rare flowers and herbs!
After collaborating with Shen Mo multiple times and gathering numerous mother sprouts of spiritual plants for the Fairy Flower Valley, Ami earned the favor of the "Big Moros" in her clan. It was unknown what treasures they rewarded her with, but her cultivation advanced to the peak of Class III.
And that was not all. According to Ami, she would be able to break through again after some time, reaching at least the early stage of Class IV without any issues.
At that point, she would become what other Flower Fairies called a "Big Moro"!
"Moro Shen, Moro Shen, when will we arrive at the Heaven Patrolling Zone?" Ami, hiding in Shen Mo's sleeve, poked her little head out and chirped.
Shen Mo sat steadily in the phoenix chariot, dividing his attention between controlling its direction and his cultivation.
Upon hearing Ami's question, he opened his half-closed eyes and quickly calculated.
"The envoys from the Heaven Patrolling Temple, who also traveled in a Heaven Patrolling Boat, wandered for three months in the chaotic space-time currents of the Western Sea. After that, they spent a total of nine months traversing the Immortal Burial Sea. So, judging by the most direct route, we are about nineteen million miles away from the perilous western sea of the Heaven Patrolling Zone. The Bronze Phoenix Cart isn't as fast as the Heaven Patrolling Boat and can only travel fifty thousand miles in a day and night. Thus, we would need about a year to reach that turbulent space-time flow! However, if we don't encounter any danger en route, I can use my Escape Skill and other Skills to hasten our journey, greatly reducing travel time."
If I personally use the Ride the Cloud Immortal Law to travel, my escape speed is between that of an early-stage and a middle-stage Golden Core Realm cultivator. Flying non-stop at full speed, I can cover 120,000 miles in a day and night. At that rate, it would take just over five months to reach the perilous western sea of the Heaven Patrolling Zone! If I were to use the [Sword Escape] Skill, the speed would be even faster, and the time taken even shorter. However, one never knows what dangers might be encountered along the way, such as running headlong into powerful Outer Zone demons or Evil Spirits. I must conserve some energy to deal with such possibilities; I can't possibly travel the entire way using Escape Skills or the [Sword Escape] Skill at full tilt!
So, Shen Mo estimated that crossing the Immortal Burial Sea would probably take six to seven months.
As for how long it would take to brave the turbulent space-time flow enveloping the western sea of the Heaven Patrolling Zone, Shen Mo had yet to experience it himself, so he was not quite sure.
If luck is on my side, perhaps I can pass through it in ten days to half a month. If I'm unlucky, it's possible I might spend the better part of a year searching for a passage without success!
"OH..."
The Flower Fairy nodded thoughtfully, took out the Golden Flowery Realm from her bosom, and handed it to Shen Mo. "Moro Shen, refine this treasure and then put Ami inside."
"Ami wants to hide and cultivate for a while to see if I can quickly break through to Class IV. When it's about time, let me out!"
The Golden Flowery Realm of the Flower Fairy clan differed greatly from Ming Yu's [The Smallest and The Largest] Skill.
The former could not take the caster into the Minor World along with it.
The latter's spatial barrier, however, was formed from Ming Yu's clam shell, allowing her to enter and exit it freely, needing only to anchor its existence to the Outer Realm!
If Ami wanted to hide inside the Golden Flowery Realm for secluded cultivation, someone else had to activate the Golden Flowery Realm to draw her in.
Previously, Shen Mo had borrowed the Golden Flowery Realm to rescue the Inner Door disciples of the Mountain River Realm. Now, as he once again began the process of refining and activating the Golden Flowery Realm, his proficiency was evident.
Employing the previous method, he stimulated this spatial exotic treasure, causing a hazy luminescence to flow forth.
Flower Fairy Ami waved to him, then flew into the spirit light and entered the inner space of the Golden Flowery Realm.
This was only possible because Shen Mo had earned her deep trust; Ami would not dare do such a thing with anyone else. After all, this act was no different from completely entrusting her life into another's hands!
Shen Mo pried open the golden petals. Seeing that Ami had already found a place abundant with flowers and built a pavilion of grass and wood, he smiled faintly. He then carefully put the Golden Flowery Realm into his robes, securing it close to his body.
At this point, the Bronze Phoenix Cart had passed the near regions of the Immortal Burial Sea, and the nature's spiritual energy began to rapidly dwindle.
"I've saved up for several years; it's about time to try upgrading my Basic Destiny: Talent," Shen Mo summoned the Destiny Panel and murmured to himself as he looked at the information displayed.
[Destiny Points: 1,058.]
The accumulated Destiny Points were enough for him to attempt upgrading a Destiny to Purple grade ten times, or to draw ten Special Destinies from the Destiny Pool. However, I still feel it's better to spend them on upgrading my Talent. Although the cost of drawing a Special Destiny has doubled repeatedly, the probability of drawing one of Purple grade or higher remains largely unchanged. Most likely, I'll still draw gray, white, green, or blue Special Destinies. The chance of directly drawing a Purple grade Destiny is very small, not to mention Orange or Gold grade ones! Currently, Destinies below Purple grade aren't very useful to me. Having a large number of low-grade Destinies doesn't significantly benefit my cultivation or strength. Even if I draw a Destiny with huge potential, I'd still need to spend a massive amount of Destiny Points to upgrade its grade or keep drawing until I get a similar high-grade Destiny to replace it before it becomes truly useful! On the other hand, upgrading my Basic Destinies offers more direct and lasting benefits.
Thinking this, Shen Mo invested Destiny Points into the "Talent" Basic Destiny.

[...]
Whether it's a Basic Destiny or a Special Destiny, the higher its grade, the more difficult it is to upgrade further.
Shen Mo was mentally prepared for this.
However, after seeing eight consecutive failure notifications, his expression still turned grim.
"Previously, I'd already spent several hundred, nearly a thousand Destiny Points trying to upgrade Talent. I didn't expect it to still be this difficult!"
Of course, Shen Mo also understood that the probability of a successful upgrade was fixed. Only by attempting it enough times could that minuscule chance be triggered, allowing it to advance to Orange grade.
But seeing only just over two hundred Destiny Points remaining, he couldn't help but feel a pang of regret.
"Two more chances. If it still fails, I won't keep forcing Talent. I can always upgrade other Basic Destinies like Vitality first!"
With that thought, another hundred Destiny Points vanished.

[Congratulations, Host! Your Basic Destiny, Talent, has been promoted from "The Chosen" to "Extremely Rare".]
