A towering mountain was situated in the middle of the five great Kingdoms in this world of Veloria.

No matter the season, the mountain was always shrouded in mist.

It was said that Warriors and Mages have tried to climb the mountain, but they never returned.

Since then, nobody dared to climb it again.

It just became one of the many mysteries of this world.

But, in this mountain, there was a cave.

Not a small one.

Blue coloured stones were on the walls and ceiling of the cave, and they were glowing, giving the cave a blue hue.

Deep inside the cave, there was a round table made of solid earth, and five chairs were present.

Currently, four of those five chairs were occupied.

"Must she always be late...?" a man seated on one of the chairs muttered.

He looked ordinary... really ordinary.

He had normal black hair, and he was just wearing a simple brown coloured tunic and brown trousers with sandals.

He was tapping the table impatiently as he stared at the wall.

"Impatience... This character of yours is a flaw. I hope you know that," another man suddenly said.

Even though he wasn't looking at the ordinary man, it was obvious that his words were directed at him.

The ordinary-looking man whose name was Dane flashed the man who just spoke a smile.

"Thank you for telling me, Rey. I'll try to change it."

Rey just scoffed in response to Dane's words. He adjusted his blonde hair as he relaxed on his chair.

"Every time we meet, you two are always the first to say something," the third individual among the four of them suddenly spoke, his eyes sharp.

He seemed to like the colour blue a lot, because not only was his long hair blue, but his beard was also blue in colour.

The suit he was wearing was blue, along with his shoes.

He folded his arms as he added, "That's something the both of you should think about."

Rey instantly shot him a look. "Aric, how about you think about your appearance. Every single meeting, everything you wear is always blue!"

"Alright, I think that's enough for now," Rowan instantly said before anyone else could say anything. "Let's just have a little patience. I believe Carla will be here anytime soon."

Almost as if he predicted it, a white light instantly appeared behind the vacant chair, the same way it appeared when the others arrived minutes ago.

Within seconds, the light died down, revealing a lady.

She looked... elegant.

Her long pink hair cascaded down to her knees, and immediately she arrived, a refreshing scent filled the cave.

Unlike Aric who seemed to like the colour blue, Carla seemed to be obsessed with the colour pink.

Apart from her hair, the elegant gown she was wearing was also pink, alongside her heels.

As she took a step, a sound was heard as her heels hit the ground.

She drew the chair backwards a bit, before stepping in front of it and sitting down.

All the while she was doing this, her pink eyes never stopped scanning the other four individuals.

"Just sit down already, Carla," Aric said, his voice laced with irritation. "You always try to make everything about you."

Carla grinned as she sat down. "Ohhh... Look who's angry because I said I didn't find him attractive."

"Shut up!" Aric yelled. "Nothing like that happened."

"Oh, it did, actually," Rey said with a smirk on his face, his green eyes fixated on Aric.

"Yeah. Carla told us all about it," Dane said with an innocent smile plastered on his face.

"Aghh! All of you, shut up!" Aric roared, his veins already bulging.

If any other person was seeing what was happening in this cave right now, their jaws would have already dropped due to immense shock a long time ago.

Yes, this cave was located in the mountain where it was said that nobody could return from, and right now, there were people present, and they looked okay.

That fact alone would be shocking.

But apart from that, the fact that the rulers of the five Kingdoms in Veloria were together in one place would be the most shocking thing.

And from their conversation, it was obvious that this wasn't the first time they had met in this place.

The five great rulers of the five great Kingdoms were together, and were making jokes like little kids?

Who wouldn't be shocked?

"Ahem."

Rowan cleared his throat, gaining the attention of the other four.

"We all have our Kingdoms to return to, so I believe we should start properly now."

"Sure," Dane said.

Aric just sighed, adjusting his blue hair while Rey nodded and folded his arms.

As for Carla...

"Oh, darling... There's no need to 'start properly'. We already know why you requested us to come here..."

Her pink eyes shone as she smiled and whispered, "we already know what your issue is."

Rowan nodded. "Okay, then. But do you all know that this issue about the Vampires won't be affecting only my Kingdom this time?"

Dane squinted his eyes. "What do you mean, Rowan?"

Aric's eyes sharpened. "Stop the act, Rowan. You're just saying this to get me to help you."

Before Rowan could say anything, Rey spoke:

"Okay. Let's say that what you just said is actually true, but then, won't it be wise for me to focus on protecting my Kingdom and my people rather than helping you?"

Dane nodded in agreement.

"And what exactly makes you think that the other Kingdoms will be affected?" Rey added.

Rowan's expression didn't waver for even a second.

His eyes scanned the other four as he began replying:

"The Vampires said so themselves."

Rowan continued, ignoring the sharp gazes of the other four.

"In the last war, my Kingdom was attacked more than your Kingdoms, and because of this, my Kingdom was heavily affected while your Kingdoms were okay.

"Now, the Vampires have attacked my Kingdom again, but most of them told my soldiers one thing in particular..."

The others squinted their eyes as they waited for what Rowan would say next.

Rowan paused, staring at all of them, as if he wanted to confirm that they were paying attention.

With that, he continued,

"They said that they would be coming for the other Kingdoms... with much more force than last time."

Before anyone could say anything, Rowan quickly added,

"They seemed to have realized that they focused only on my Kingdom in the last war."

"That's bullshit," Aric said, anger evident in his eyes.

Rowan remained unfazed.

"Believe it or not, but it's true. We all are going to be affected this time. And apart from that, the Vampires are now even more stronger than before... and smarter."

Carla's amused gaze lingered on Rowan. "Why do you say that?"

Rowan turned to her. "When they arrived, they stealthily captured humans, and turned them into Vampires to increase their army."

Rey frowned. "Huh? How is that even possible? How did they think of that?... They didn't do that last time..."

"Exactly why I said they came back smarter," Rowan said. "But I believe that there's a certain powerful Vampire with them who's leading them."

"Hmm, and why did you say they came back stronger? They can now do more things with that filthy energy of theirs?" Aric asked, clearly irritated.

"Well, yes, they can now do more things with their energy," Rowan said. "But apart from that... they can now use Mana."

"Impossible!" Aric roared, slamming his hand on the hard table as he stood up, glaring at Rowan.

"There's a limit to how much lie you can tell, Rowan," he muttered, his tone firm and slightly threatening.

"We're all around the same age and we're all Kings, so don't even think about fooling us!" Aric added.

"Calm down, Aric," Dane said.

Rey just kept staring at the wall, clearly reasoning what Rowan said.

Carla's smile never faded.

She kept staring at Rowan before she finally decided to speak:

"Let me ask you just two questions, Rowan."

"Go ahead," Rowan said.

Carla adjusted.

She placed her left elbow on the table as one of her fingers traced her face, going from her eyes before grazing her lips.

She bit the finger, still staring at Rowan.

"Question number one, how many of your cities have been attacked by the Vampires?"

"Five," Rowan replied. "But my soldiers were able to defeat them, and reclaim the City. Though, another Vampire was just spotted in another City yesterday."

"I see..." Carla murmured, a twisted smile forming on her lips.

The others just waited, curious about Carla's second question.

"Question number two... Do you still miss your wife?"

"Yes," Rowan replied without even hesitating for a single second, his tone was so firm that it was obvious that he wasn't lying about that.

Carla grinned.

"Alright then..."

She bit her finger harder as her pink eyes shone.

"I believe you... and because of that, I'll help you."

Rowan stared at her as a small smile formed on his face.

It was already obvious that Aric, Rey and Dane would not help him, but since Carla had decided to help him, that was more than enough for him.

After all...

Carla was the strongest human alive.
