The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!-Chapter 86: Peaceful Su Mo!
If dozens of armed men started shooting at her simultaneously, even she would have trouble surviving.
’Is this a test?’
’Is Master checking whether I’m afraid of death?’
She couldn’t be sure.
But one thing she knew for certain was that if Su Mo truly wanted her dead, he could have killed her long ago.
There was no need for such a complicated setup.
Besides, she was now his secretary and technically the future CEO of his company.
Surely, he had some kind of plan.
Unaware of her internal reasoning, Su Mo simply watched as the car drove away.
Once the Porsche disappeared into the darkness, he activated his technique.
His body slowly lifted off the ground.
He began moving through the air toward the warehouse district.
As for how he could fly, the explanation was quite simple.
After returning from the ancient tomb earlier, Su Mo felt that flying with swords was not quite suitable for him.
Carrying a sword everywhere just to fly around felt unnecessarily dramatic.
So, he had devised a different solution.
He replaced the soles of his shoes with thin metal plates.
Now, using his special technique, he could control those plates and create an effect similar to levitation.
The speed wasn’t particularly impressive, roughly comparable to driving a car, but it was more than sufficient for situations like this.
Soon, the warehouses came into view.
Su Mo landed silently on a nearby rooftop and scanned the area. Sixteen warehouses stood scattered across the compound.
This place looked eerily silent.
’I wonder how many enemies are here.’
He released his spiritual sense.
The invisible wave expanded outward and covered the entire compound.
Within seconds, the situation became clear to him.
’Fifty-nine armed men carrying assault rifles.’
’Thirteen more moving around without visible weapons... though they may have pistols.’
’Total combatants are seventy-two.’
’Good enough to see Shuang’s skill.’
His attention shifted to the captives.
’One hundred and four people. Seventy-eight of them appear to be children. The remaining twenty-six are adults, mostly women.’
Su Mo sighed quietly.
’Pitiful... guys’
At least they were still alive, which meant they weren’t the ones to be sliced up for organs. They must have endured terrible conditions.
But their luck had just changed.
Their "hero" was already on the way.
---
Inside one of the warehouses, Wen Jun was in a terrible mood.
He glared at the subordinate standing in front of him.
"What is this?"
He kicked a nearby crate in anger.
"An entire week has passed, and you only managed to bring back one child?!"
The subordinate in front of him looked miserable.
His clothes were dirty, and several bruises covered his face.
"Boss... this one was difficult to capture," he said nervously. "It took a lot of effort..."
"Are you joking with me?!" Wen Jun snapped.
"I don’t want excuses!"
His eyes were cold.
"I want results."
He leaned forward.
"If you don’t bring at least twenty children by next week..."
"...the entire gang will hunt you down."
The subordinate’s face turned pale.
"No, boss! Please show mercy!"
"Get out!"
Wen Jun had no patience left.
The man stumbled away, nearly tripping over himself as he ran.
For the past few days, Wen Jun had been in a terrible mood.
When the deal with the Mustrump family had first been secured, he had been ecstatic. The profits promised by that agreement were enormous for him, the biggest gang leader of Jiangnan.
But reality quickly crushed those fantasies.
Even with the entire Black Bull Gang working day and night, they still couldn’t meet the quota.
In desperation, they had even set up the bounty on He Xiong to force him into increasing supply.
Yet somehow that plan had also collapsed.
He Xiong had actually been killed.
Then Wang Cai disappeared.
And according to Wen Hang, Wang Cai had sold his company shares to an unknown rich kid.
Everything was falling apart.
Just as Wen Jun was brooding over these problems, his eyes landed on a sack lying on the floor.
"What’s that?" he asked.
A nearby subordinate replied, "Boss, the guy earlier left it behind."
"The child he brought is inside."
Wen Jun lost interest immediately.
"Take it to storage."
"Yes, boss."
But the subordinate didn’t move.
Wen Jun frowned.
"Didn’t you hear—"
His words stopped.
The subordinate’s eyes had gone blank.
A second later, the man collapsed to the ground.
Wen Jun’s expression changed instantly.
"Arms out!"
"There’s an enemy!"
The gang members reacted immediately.
Rifles were raised.
Men began scanning every corner of the warehouse.
A quiet sigh echoed through the building.
"What a clever little guy."
The voice was clear, but no one could identify its source.
"Who’s there?!" Wen Jun shouted.
"Show yourself!"
"Why would I do that?" the voice replied calmly. "If I wanted to appear, there’d be no point hiding in the first place."
Wen Jun’s face darkened.
At that moment, another subordinate whispered nervously.
"Boss... the sack is gone."
Wen Jun turned his head.
The sack that had contained the kidnapped child had vanished.
His eyes widened slightly.
With dozens of armed men present, the intruder had rescued the hostage without anyone noticing.
’This enemy isn’t simple.’
Wen Jun forced himself to stay calm.
"Are you here to rescue that child?"
He asked loudly.
Inside his mind, however, he was cursing the incompetent subordinate who had brought the enemy back to their base.
The situation had already escalated.
Now there was only one option.
Find the intruder and kill him to ensure that no information leaks.
"Trying to distract me with questions?" the voice replied.
"No need. I’ll appear now."
The moment the words ended, every person in the warehouse froze.
A handsome young man was sitting casually in Wen Jun’s chair.
No one had seen him enter.
The first thought in everyone’s mind was disbelief.
The second was anger.
How dare he sit in the boss’s chair?
Dozens of gun barrels immediately pointed at him.
Su Mo looked completely unconcerned.
"Relax," he said with a friendly smile.
"I’m a peaceful person. I don’t like fighting."
Wen Jun’s expression suddenly changed.
"He’s stalling for time!" he shouted. "The police must be coming! Everyone, prepare!"
