"Jie Ming has brought you something."

When Duan Luoyang heard this, he immediately perked up, "W-What is it?"

Jie Fu Lian revealed the shiny dagger and Duan Luoyang looked to be quite stunned as he saw it.

"You shouldn’t lose it again," Jie Fu Lian spoke with an awkward chuckle, "It’s not like I’ll forge a new one for you if you lose it."

Suddenly, tears started streaming down Duan Luoyang’s eyes and it truly stunned Jie Fu Lian who was not expecting this man to start crying out of nowhere.

"Why are you crying?" Jie Fu Lian worriedly asked.

"Young Master... I’m so sorry for calling you Uncle Fu~" Duan Luoyang continued to cry.

"Eh?"

"It was so rude of me!~ I should’ve recognized you but I didn’t! It’s my fault! I’m so sorry~"

Jie Fu Lian was suddenly left speechless as he saw the man crying his heart out and whining nonstop.

"I even lost the precious dagger that you gave me," Duan Luoyang continued to whine, "I don’t deserve to have this dagger anymore!~"

Jie Fu Lian glanced at Hua Tianshu, as if mentally telling the man to handle the situation. However, Hua Tianshu only shrugged his shoulders with a small smile, leaving Jie Fu Lian to deal with Duan Luoyang alone.

Jie Fu Lian cleared his throat and sat down on a chair next to the bed as he spoke, "Duan Luoyang, please stop crying. It wasn’t your fault. I’m the one who failed to recognize you."

"You didn’t r-recognize me...?" Duan Luoyang hiccuped as he asked in disbelief.

Jie Fu Lian nodded his head as he spoke, "That’s right. I failed to recognize you and I was even dumb enough to be jealous of you. I’m the one who should be sorry."

All of a sudden, Duan Luoyang stopped crying and looked to be a bit offended as he questioned, "You failed to recognize me?!"

"Huh...?" Jie Fu Lian felt as if there was something wrong with this sudden reaction.

"How could you not know who I was?!" Duan Luoyang cried out in shock, "I used to follow you around everywhere! You even gifted me a dagger! I thought we were close! How can you not recognize me?!"

Jie Fu Lian blinked in disbelief as he heard this question.

"Well... For starters, you have grown into quite a muscular man," Jie Fu Lian spoke, trying to sound as polite as he could, "And you look... A bit more mature than your age."

Duan Luoyang once again started crying as he heard this.

"W-Why are you crying again?" Jie Fu Lian asked, panicking a little.

"I’m the one who is at fault!" Duan Luoyang whined, "I’m the one who changed so much! If I hadn’t changed, you would’ve recognized me!"

Jie Fu Lian couldn’t help but burst out laughing as he heard this.

"Mo Yang, you really like crying, don’t you?"

Duan Luoyang started crying even harder as he heard this, "You called me Mo Yang! You still remember my name! I feel so happy!~"

Jie Fu Lian shook his head and continued to laugh as he heard this.

"Young Master, I really missed you!~"

"Well, I thought you were dead so I was pleasantly surprised to know that you were still alive," Jie Fu Lian playfully responded.

Duan Luoyang couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle as he heard this.

"And..." Jie Fu Lian suddenly remembered something and smiled as he leaned in closer to the man’s ear and whispered, "I saw you with Shen Chao, back in the abyss."

Duan Luoyang’s cheeks immediately blushed red.

"He’s funny and cute. I like him. You guys have my blessing," Jie Fu Lian teasingly spoke.

"Y-young master, please don’t tease me like this!"

Jie Fu Lian only laughed in response.

"I also saw you!" Duan Luoyang exclaimed, seeming as if he was trying to get revenge for Jie Fu Lian’s teasing, "Since when did you like my Shizun so much? Your lips almost looked inseparable!"

Jie Fu Lian proudly nodded his head with a smile as he heard this and openly admitted, "I’ve always liked him. He’s the only one for me. Our lips aren’t the only thing that’s inseparable."

At the end of his sentence, he even added a wink.

"..." Duan Luoyang felt a little speechless as he heard these shameless words coming from the man who used to call Hua Tianshu his sworn enemy.

Hua Tianshu’s ears blushed red when he heard Jie Fu Lian and his lips unconsciously curled up in a warm smile that annoyed Duan Luoyang.

Jie Fu Lian and Hua Tianshu laughed as they heard this but didn’t bother giving a response.

The three continued to talk for another half an hour and when it was time for Jie Fu Lian to leave, he sighed as he grabbed Duan Luoyang’s hand and spoke, "There is something that I need to tell you."

"Hmm?"

"TianTian and I have decided to go look for a cure and we’ll be leaving after a week."

Duan Luoyang frowned as he heard this, "A cure? For what?"

"It’s for Hua Meifang," Jie Fu Lian smiled as he spoke, "I just thought we should let you know before we go."

"Well... How long would you be gone for?" Duan Luoyang asked.

Jie Fu Lian gulped as he looked at Hua Tianshu and the latter sighed as he spoke, "We don’t know yet. It might take a few months or even a few years. We don’t know where the cure is. We don’t even know if it exists or not."

Duan Luoyang’s frown immediately deepened as he heard this, "So what if there is no such cure...?"

Hua Tianshu thinly smiled as he heard this but didn’t say anything.

"We’ll keep looking," Jie Fu Lian sighed as he spoke, "We’ll keep looking until we find it and if there is no cure then we’ll spend our time creating one."

"Then... When will I get to see you again..?" Duan Luoyang hesitantly asked, looking a little scared to hear the answer.

Jie Fu Lian lightly squeezed Duan Luoyang’s hand in a reassuring manner as he spoke, "We’ll keep in touch."

A few months later, Duan Luoyang figured out what Jie Fu Lian meant by saying ’we’ll keep in touch’.

Jie Fu Lian and Hua Tianshu sent a letter saying they needed spirit stones and transportation talismans. This was their so-called ’keeping in touch’.

"..." Duan Luoyang pursed his lips into a thin line as he heard this and felt that the affection his Young Master Jie Fu Lian had once held for him was now gone.

"Duan Luoyang, go back. It’s dangerous to take you along," Hua Tianshu also supported Jie Fu Lian as he spoke.

"That gives me even more reason to follow!" Duan Luoyang argued, "If it’s dangerous then take us along."

"Duan Luoyang, go back," Hua Tianshu firmly spoke, not even bothering to give a reason this time, "Are you going to disobey your Shizun?"

Duan Luoyang’s frown grew deeper as he heard this and he wanted to continue being stubborn, however, he could feel that Hua Tianshu was not happy, and so, he stopped arguing.

"You two just want to enjoy your alone time together," Duan Luoyang unhappily commented, "Are you sure you are looking for a cure or are you just enjoying your dating life?"

Jie Fu Lian almost choked on empty air as he heard this and Hua Tianshu wasn’t even trying to hide his blushing ears.

"..." Duan Luoyang understood that he had guessed correctly and couldn’t help but fall speechless.

In the end, Shen Chao settled the situation by taking Duan Luoyang away.

As the two left, Jie Fu Lian sighed as he side glanced at Hua Tianshu and asked, "Should we at least let him know where we are going?"

Hua Tianshu shook his head, "There is no need. If we tell him, he’ll definitely follow us in secret."
