When Jie Fu Lian finally woke up, he was back in the HuiXue sect alongside the others.

When he asked around about what had happened, Hua Tianshu informed him that Heaven’s eye had saved them and transported them back to the HuiXue sect.

When Jie Fu Lian heard this, he had an evident frown on his face.

"It’s okay," Hua Tianshu reassured, "The master of curses is dead now. The fight is over."

Jie Fu Lian gulped as he heard this and shook his head as he spoke, "Something doesn’t seem right."

"Hmm?"

"That sword..." Jie Fu Lian weakly muttered, unsure if he should be mentioning it.

Hua Tianshu’s eyebrows creased together and he asked, "Do you mean the sword that Heaven’s eye was holding?"

Jie Fu Lian nodded his head.

Hua Tianshu sighed as he saw this and spoke, "You are right. That sword belonged to the immortal Xue Lan. I have no idea how it ended up with Heaven’s eye."

Jie Fu Lian’s eyes widened in disbelief as he heard this and he muttered, "That can’t be..."

"Huh?"

"I remember that sword," Jie Fu Lian spoke.

Hua Tianshu’s eyebrows creased together and he gulped as he asked, "Where?"

Jie Fu Lian pursed his lips into a thin line and stayed silent, looking as if he was contemplating whether he should say it or not.

"Jie Ming, where did you see it?" Hua Tianshu worriedly pressed on.

Jie Fu Lian suddenly sighed as he shook his head and made up his mind, "I am probably wrong."

Hua Tianshu could feel that the man was lying but he didn’t want to bother him with the topic.

"Are you sure?" He softly asked and Jie Fu Lian nodded his head with a small smile.

"By the way, where is Tail?" Jie Fu Lian immediately shifted the topic as he asked.

Hua Tianshu smiled as he spoke, "His name is Duan Luoyang now. Why are you suddenly referring to him with his old name?"

"It wasn’t even his old name," Jie Fu Lian chuckled as he replied, "It was a nickname that he got after tailing me around."

"Well, the name surely suited him."

"I know," Jie Fu Lian nodded his head with a chuckle as he agreed, "He used to be such a cute little tail, but now he is all grown up. I’m a bit jealous."

"Jealous?" Hua Tianshu cluelessly tilted his head as he questioned, "Are you jealous that he grew older?"

Jie Fu Lian shook his head as he spoke, "I’m jealous that he got to grow up with you."

Jie Fu Lian suddenly laughed as he remembered something and honestly blurted out, "When I first saw him again, I was super annoyed by him. He was constantly clinging to you and it looked like you cared a lot about him. You were acting so different around him that I almost wondered if you had suddenly gone insane. I remember thinking to myself that the Hua Tianshu I knew was certainly not such a person who would care so much about someone."

Hua Tianshu couldn’t help but smile as he heard this, "I made sure to take special care of him."

"Hmm?"

"Because I knew that you’ll come back one day and I thought that you’d want me to look after him for you. After all, wasn’t he like a little brother to you?"

"Little brother?" Jie Fu Lian repeated as he thought about it for a moment before he shook his head and spoke, "He was more like a clingy son."

Hua Tianshu raised an eyebrow as he heard this, "Does that mean I have a child now?"

"Huh?"

"If he’s your son, wouldn’t he be my son as well?"

Jie Fu Lian felt a little shocked as he heard this and in the very next moment, he burst out laughing.

"Please don’t say that," Jie Fu Lian spoke in between his laughter, "It’s weird to adopt an adult as your child so suddenly."

Hua Tianshu smiled as he heard this but said nothing in response.

"What about the rest of them?" Jie Fu Lian asked as he slowly stopped laughing and calmed himself down, "Is everyone alright?"

Hua Tianshu nodded his head with a small smile, "Except for Duan Luoyang, they are all recovering well."

"And what about Hua Meifang...?" Jie Fu Lian hesitated a little as he asked.

"She is also doing good," Hua Tianshu sighed as he spoke, "She gained consciousness."

"That’s great! Is she still..." Jie Fu Lian didn’t complete the question, feeling as if it would sound a bit insensitive, however, Hua Tianshu immediately understood what the man wanted to say.

Hua Tianshu let out a small sigh as he spoke, "She’s still... Sick. It’s not like we can erase the past."

Jie Fu Lian couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed as he heard this, "Somehow, I feel responsible for her current state. If it were not for me, she wouldn’t have entered the abyss and she wouldn’t have been targeted by Jin Long."

Hua Tianshu immediately frowned as he heard this, "You should not feel responsible for what happened to her. It wasn’t your fault."

Jie Fu Lian shook his head as he argued, "No, it is my fault. I shouldn’t have let Jin Long win. If only I hadn’t fallen for his trap..."

"Jie Ming, I think you should stop beating yourself up for everything," Hua Tianshu spoke with a sigh, "Nothing was ever your fault. If there is anyone to be blamed then it is that madman who calls himself the master of curses. His greed and insanity was the problem. Even Jin Long was manipulated by him. Of course, that doesn’t mean I forgive Jin Long, but he is already dead and there is no use of holding a grudge against him."

Hua Tianshu lightly squeezed Jie Fu Lian’s hand in a reassuring manner as he spoke, "Jie Ming, it’s time to let the past go. When I look at Hua Meifang, even I feel responsible. If I had protected her better, perhaps she wouldn’t have met such a fate... However, I’m still glad that she’s alive. For you two to be alive is more than enough for me."

Jie Fu Lian smiled as he heard this and nodded his head. With a gulp, he hesitantly spoke, "TianTian, I still want to help her."

Hua Tianshu couldn’t help but feel a little happy as he heard this.

"Do you want to go and meet her?"

Jie Fu Lian immediately shook his head as he spoke, "No, I don’t want that."

"Hmm?"

"I want to first find a way to cure her," Jie Fu Lian sighed as he spoke, "I’ll only meet her when I have the cure with me."

"A cure?" Hua Tianshu questioned and sighed in defeat as he spoke, "There is no such thing."

"There is always a cure," Jie Fu Lian firmly spoke, "We can help her. I’m sure of it!"

In all honesty, Hua Tianshu knew that there wasn’t a cure since he had already searched for it, but when faced with Jie Fu Lian’s enthusiastic expression, he simply could not say this and decided to go along with it.

He nodded his head with a small smile as he spoke, "Alright. We’ll search for a cure together."

"But before that, I think there is something else that you should do."

"There is?" Jie Fu Lian cluelessly raised an eyebrow as he questioned.

Hua Tianshu took out a shiny dagger and handed it over to Jie Fu Lian as he spoke, "Yu Wei told me to return this dagger to its owner."

Jie Fu Lian took the dagger and softly smiled as he heard this. The dagger was lightly glowing, seeming to be happy now that it was in Jie Fu Lian’s hand.

"Unfortunately, I’m not the owner," Jie Fu Lian sighed as he spoke.

Hua Tianshu only smiled as he heard this and said nothing more.

"So should we go and find its owner?" Jie Fu Lian playfully asked and Hua Tianshu softly nodded his head.

Together, the two went to visit Duan Luoyang who was still in bed, recovering from his injuries.

Shen Chao was also there, taking care of the man, but when he saw the two enter, he sighed as he took his leave and gave them some space.

When Duan Luoyang saw Jie Fu Lian, he didn’t know what to say. There were so many things coming to his mind, however, the moment he opened his mouth, it all went blank.

Jie Fu Lian also felt a little awkward and wasn’t sure what he was supposed to say first.

Thankfully, Hua Tianshu was there to help.

"Jie Ming has brought you something."

When Duan Luoyang heard this, he immediately perked up, "W-What is it?"

Jie Fu Lian revealed the shiny dagger and Duan Luoyang looked to be quite stunned as he saw it.

"You shouldn’t lose it again," Jie Fu Lian spoke with an awkward chuckle, "It’s not like I’ll forge a new one for you if you lose it."

Suddenly, tears started streaming down Duan Luoyang’s eyes and it truly stunned Jie Fu Lian who was not expecting this man to start crying out of nowhere.
