The Crowned Greed: Transmigrated into a Demonic Dragon-Chapter 183: Dragon Breath
A Calamity Gem lost its glow, turning into a lifeless stone.
Raga’s face paled. He used several detection spells that might or might not be useful and created a spiral tunnel, using it to circle a wide area while observing the sky.
Raga was genuinely panicking!
His mind kept making random guesses such as: ’Is it another meteor? Can he only control meteors? What if it’s something else this time? What if he’s just trying to confuse me? What if it’s related to the dragon breath?’
After witnessing three meteors, he had every right to expect anything!
Absolutely anything!
However, even after a minute, nothing happened.
Dante kept charging his attack, his mouth glowing with purple light, trying to aim at Raga.
But he didn’t dare to let his guard down. He stopped using demonic energy and swallowed several mana crystals, ignoring the mana poisoning threat and relying on mana temporarily.
However, the next moment, Dante tore Raga’s expectations and lowered his head, aiming at the ground.
’What is he trying to do?’ Raga wondered. If not for the extreme heat, he would have been sweating heavily.
He tried to attack Dante’s throat and lungs, but he used his arm to block most of the attacks. Those that actually damaged Dante couldn’t do much as he healed immediately right after.
He tried to suffocate him by taking the air away, but Dante continued with no air, unaffected by its absence.
Dante’s charged attack became bright enough to illuminate several villages.
Something dangerous was happening. Raga couldn’t let him continue!
He closed his eyes for a moment while considering his options. After that moment passed, he made up his mind, opening his eyes and staring at Dante sharply.
He had the opportunity to get a Crown of Existence, but fighting Dante like that was reckless and stupid.
That left him with two options.
The first was to kill Dante. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
By killing Dante, the Crown would be taken back by the World Runes. No one could stop this process, it was inevitable.
There was only one way to get the Crown of Existence from a Crowned Existence, and it needed the Crowned Existence to hand it over willingly.
That was why Valor attacked the citizens, tortured the king’s daughter, and committed massacres in some battlefields.
He wanted Zaragoza to give up and cooperate in that process.
In other words, Raga’s first option was to destroy an item that could cause a war between kingdoms.
As for the second option, it was to escape from Dante!
To swallow his pride as a Pride Demon and escape!
That would mean allowing Dante to live and grow stronger after everything he had done to him. It was extremely dangerous if Dante ever became a threat and asked Valor for revenge.
Unlike Zaragoza, who had a kingdom to take care of, Dante had nothing to chain him now, as far as Raga knew.
There was nothing he could use to chain Dante down.
If Valor ever had to choose between becoming an enemy for a free Crowned Existence or killing Raga, he’d choose the latter!
And Raga, as Valor’s right hand, knew that so well. Valor was ready to sacrifice anything for his goals.
His only hope would be to find Dante later alongside Valor. But that was unlikely to happen. Going back to Valor and bringing him here without the Holy Kingdom noticing would take time, enough time for Dante to escape and hide.
’I have no other choice, have I?’
It was a shame, but his life mattered more.
"...!"
Dante’s eyes suddenly widened, feeling his instincts screaming at him as he observed Raga.
A wave of runes suddenly erupted within his body into a complex structure. There were very few mana runes, a lot of the mysterious Aspect that accelerated him, and the majority of the runes were World Runes.
That was his class ability!
’It’s just like last time.’
Dante channeled his silver Ether and made a command.
Silver Ether Command — Flow Disruption Command!
"...!"
All of a sudden, Raga lost the ability to channel his mana into the vacuum tunnel, causing it to lose its stability and shatter under the pressure of the air.
A lightning-infused air barrier protected Raga’s body from the crushing air as he continued charging his ability.
However, what happened next was beyond his expectations.
Swish!
A wave of powerful air suddenly appeared.
It came quickly toward him. It held immense power and could easily kill people under Rank 3.
And as a master of wind, he knew what that phenomenon was.
’Microburst!’
A rare phenomenon that was often mistaken with tornados, a natural disaster that tended to occur after lightning storms or other calamities.
And in such a magical world, especially one where three meteors had struck the same area several times, it was significantly stronger than the microbursts on Earth.
’This... this isn’t logical!’
Raga couldn’t understand. How could a microburst appear now? Why at this exact moment? Why not before or after? Why was it even happening?
Microburst was an extremely rare disaster!
’Oh... I see now.’
When he fought Dante, two abyssal beasts appeared from the unstable abyssal gate and attacked him out of all people.
Was this almost impossible to happen? Yes.
Yet it happened.
It wasn’t completely impossible to happen.
Then came the meteors.
He had witnessed the first one himself. A tiny meteor hit a bigger one and changed the larger meteor’s path. Coincidentally, the larger meteor struck the spot where Raga had stood
Was that unlikely to happen?
Yes.
But was it illogical?
No!
Dante didn’t interfere with any of the meteors. They just ended up striking him by coincidence!
And now a microburst! Just like everything else, it was naturally formed! It was just his misfortune that he was in its path!
Everything was logical!
It was just...
’Luck! He has something to do with probabilities and luck!’
Unfortunately, that realization came late.
The microburst threw him toward Dante. His body crashed at the exact spot that Dante had been aiming at all time.
Of course, Dante didn’t know how any of that happened. He didn’t understand what a microburst was. He didn’t know that Raga couldn’t defend against it.
When he used Royal Calamity, his command was simple.
Fall into my attack.
That was the final outcome. Whatever happened to lead to that was none of his business. It all depended on luck.
And now, Raga’s survival would also depend on his luck.
Finally, Dante released his dragon breath.
