The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 38: If I Didn’t Come, You Couldn’t Stand the Loneliness?
She propped her arm on the ground, a sharp pain at her elbow. Yelena Hughes breathed shallowly, Henry Louis’s face becoming more and more menacing in her eyes.
If business isn’t good, a bit less would be understandable, but she treated him like a fool, claiming it’s impossible not to have a cent.
Henry Louis closed in, bending down to grab Yelena Hughes by the shoulders. He applied a lot of force, and she was so thin, it felt like he wanted to crush her bones.
"Tell me, where’s the money hidden? Did you put it somewhere safe?"
"No, the customer didn’t leave a tip today."
Fine, treat him like a fool, okay? "You must really have a death wish."
Henry Louis let go and stood up, then immediately kicked hard. Yelena Hughes tried to shield herself with her arm, but still fell backward onto the ground.
"Even if you beat me to death, it won’t help, leaving me injured is just a loss for you," she knew it would end like this. Yelena Hughes kept her arm raised, "The money I earn goes to you, just because I don’t have any today doesn’t mean there won’t be any in the future."
But the man was extremely displeased, it was as if he had waited here for nothing.
He took some medicine from his pocket and threw it on the ground. Yelena Hughes reached for it, but Henry Louis maliciously stepped on her hand. "If it’s still like this tomorrow, just see if I show you any mercy."
Yelena Hughes’s fingers couldn’t move, she tried to protect the medicine in her palm. Henry Louis repeatedly ground his toe, taking out his anger on her.
"Hey, what are you doing?" A figure rushed out from The Sovereign Club, trying to push Henry Louis away but stuttered upon seeing his build, "Don’t mess around...our security here, each one is bigger than you, undefeatable...you!"
Henry Louis removed his foot, "Since when do security guards care about couples arguing?"
"Couple..." The woman stared at him in surprise, then looked at Yelena Hughes. "You’re her boyfriend?"
"Is that not allowed?"
"Then you definitely shouldn’t be hitting her."
Henry Louis pointed a finger at Yelena Hughes, "I’ll be back tomorrow. If there’s no money then, you’ll regret it!"
Yelena Hughes listened to the footsteps walking away, she pulled back her hand, now a fist. There was a footprint on the back of her hand, stained with dirt. The woman nearby didn’t mind the dirt at all, she patted her hand a few times.
"What a disgusting man, hitting a woman, why don’t you break up with him?"
Yelena Hughes saw the woman’s face clearly, it was her who had spoken up for her in Charles Chambers’s private room earlier.
"What’s your name?"
"Madeline Forest, and you?"
"Yelena Hughes."
"Get up," Madeline Forest pulled her up, patting her a few more times, "Why keep a man like that around, unless...you can’t get rid of him?"
Yelena Hughes slipped the medicine into her bag, "I can’t shake him off."
"What a shame, you’re so pretty, he’s just a toad."
Yelena Hughes found out that they lived not far from each other, so they shared a cab and had company on the way back.
Late the next night, Chester, with a cigarette in her mouth, watched Yelena Hughes thoughtfully.
"It’s not that I won’t help you, but it’s the young master’s orders, no one dares to disobey."
At this hour, Jasper Yale hadn’t come by, but Chester could only arrange for Yelena Hughes to sit in his private room. "I find it strange though, he’s always so generous, why would he treat you..."
Yelena Hughes pinched the back of her hand, "I offended him, no, I offended the woman he likes."
Chester blew out a puff of smoke slowly, "No wonder, so what do you plan to do? If this continues, you won’t get a cent, maybe it’s better to just quit."
Yelena Hughes shook her head, not telling Chester that she had no choice.
If she quit, what about her medicine?
"It’s okay, Chester, I don’t want to trouble you, I’ll just sit here."
Chester sighed lightly, she really liked this girl, obedient and sensible, unlike those who only had money on their minds.
Soon, Yelena Hughes was sitting alone in the private room. Later, she’d have to deal with the men outside, she put five hundred dollars in cash in her bag, but this wasn’t a long-term solution.
She couldn’t keep paying out of her own pocket, she couldn’t afford it.
Besides, when it came to five hundred dollars, that man probably wouldn’t even care for it.
For three consecutive days, Jasper Yale hadn’t come by, but everyone at The Sovereign Club knew that Yelena Hughes was the young master’s designated companion. Everyone assumed she could earn just by sitting in the private room, so they both resented and envied her.
Tonight, it seemed Jasper Yale still wouldn’t come.
Yelena Hughes stepped out of the private room, wearing a thin mini skirt and camisole, she caught a chill; her stomach hurt terribly.
The first day of her period was especially hard. She wanted to go to the lounge to get a heating pad.
She was almost leaning against the wall as she walked, nearly bumping into someone coming out of a private room.
Madeline Forest saw Yelena Hughes’s face up close and was shocked, "What happened to your face?"
Yelena Hughes turned her cheek, but her hanging hair couldn’t hide the bruise at the corner of her mouth. Madeline Forest was furious, "Did your boyfriend hit you?"
From the private room, a man followed closely behind.
The middle-aged man with a big belly was immediately excited upon seeing Yelena Hughes, "She’s quite a looker, come, let’s have some fun in the private room."
Yelena Hughes’s stomach was still painful, hunching her shoulders; she couldn’t even muster the strength to struggle as he hugged her.
Madeline Forest tried to help, but the man swatted her aside with a wave of his big hand.
The big-bellied man was ready to head into the private room, but somehow couldn’t move. Turning his head, he realized someone had grabbed his shoulder. "Who do you think you are?"
He bellowed angrily,
Hailey Jenkins forcefully pulled his arm away, and Yelena Hughes was yanked several steps in a strong force as Jasper Yale’s voice crashed down on her head.
"I’ve been gone for three days and you can’t control your loneliness? Going out to find customers yourself?"
Yelena Hughes’s stomach pain was severe, unbearable enough that she couldn’t speak, or else she wouldn’t have stayed silent just now.
Jasper Yale glanced at her face, "Even ghosts look better than you do, how could anyone say you’re good-looking?"
But he quickly noticed the large bruise at the corner of Yelena Hughes’s mouth, like it had been made with significant force.
Jasper Yale’s face turned cold and harsh, looking at the man Hailey Jenkins had pushed away, "Did you hit her?"
The big-bellied man shook his head hastily, clearly wronged, "Not me, I just met her..."
Jasper Yale leaned in closer to Yelena Hughes’s face, "Then who? Which client?"
Madeline Forest, seeing Yelena Hughes was uncomfortable and worried she wouldn’t speak out her grievances, said, "It was her boyfriend, that scumbag laid hands on her."
Yelena Hughes didn’t expect Madeline Forest to speak so fast, what boyfriend did she have? Besides, what could Jasper Yale do about it even if he knew?
"Don’t cover for him," Madeline Forest became increasingly angry, "That man is ugly, fierce, and abusive—look at how badly you’ve been beaten!"
Jasper Yale tightened his grip on Yelena Hughes’s arm, "Boyfriend?"
