The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 346: Help from Lauren & Irene
"Here, Miss Alessandro, the drink for Master." Lauren said as he brought a bottle of wine that actually had over seventy percent blood mixed with the wine.
"Lauren..."
"Yes, Miss Alessandro?"
Emily hesitated, not sure if the vampire would agree to help her or not. But she didn’t have any other choices left if she wanted to help Shadow. Taking in a deep breath, she looked straight into Lauren’s dark eyes as she spoke - "I know that you are extremely loyal to Shadow and will never do anything against his orders..."
She let her words hang in the air and it was pretty clear from Lauren’s expressions that he was skeptical about whatever she was going to say next.
"... but I also know that you love and care about him just as much. That’s why you still brought me here despite knowing that he might get angry at you." She gave Lauren a small but warm smile before continuing - "This is why I believe that you will help me."
"What do you want from me, Miss Alessandro?" Lauren asked while making sure not to appear too cynical.
Emily decided to no longer beat around the bush and explained her plan - "You know that I carry the most powerful blood in my veins and it can help Shadow heal in just minutes. It will also dissipate the darkness to some point that seemed to be taking over him recently. I need your help to mix a few drops of my blood in this wine since I can’t use my powers."
Lauren stared at her with wide eyes as if she had actually told him an assassination plan and not one to save his Sire.
"Miss Alessandro, this... If Master got to know about this..." The reluctance and worry was clearly evident in Lauren’s voice.
"Lauren..." Emily called out the vampire’s name to get his attention and once she had it, she continued - "I know that Shadow will be angry if he find out about this, but that’s a problem for future. If we did it in the right way, he’s currently too weak to be suspicious. And for me, it doesn’t matter if he finds out about it after he’s done drinking the wine. I promise I will handle him if that happened. No one other than me will know that you helped me."
"It’s not about that, Miss Alessandro. I can die happily for my Master. But I can’t risk your safety knowing fully well that you are my Master’s life." Lauren finally revealed the reason behind his hesitation and for a few moments, Emily was at a complete loss of words.
The silence was broken by a third person who seemed to be listening to their conversation for a while.
"If he can’t do it, then I can offer my help. Only if Miss Alessandro is okay with it."
Both Emily and Lauren turned their attention toward the woman who was walking in their direction and just made the offer.
"Irene."
Emily recognized the beautiful woman immediately, fully aware that she was also one of Shadow’s sired children and most loyal guards.
"Miss Alessandro."
Irene greeted Emily with a polite smile and a little bow as she came to stand next to Lauren.
"Have you lost your mind, Irene? It’s not about Master only. What if something went wrong with Miss Alessandro? We can’t risk her safety." Lauren tried to make his friend understand exactly what was at stake.
Irene let out a sigh and turned to face Lauren as she spoke - "I know exactly what’s at stake here, Lauren. And trust me, I will never put Miss Alessandro’s safety second to anything else. But I’m offering my help now because I’m sure that we can manage it."
Lauren still didn’t look fully convinced but there was hope and Emily decided to use that chance.
"Lauren, please. I know that you are worried that the smell and sight of my blood can make you both lose your control and if you failed to stop the smell of blood from leaving the confines of this room, it could attract other vampires as well. If this happened, the situation could go way bad than what we can expect." Emily knew exactly what was stopping the man from helping her. "But I trust you both. I’m sure if we did it in the right way, we will succeed. Plus, we even have Irene here to help us now. Please, just agree."
Lauren shifted his gaze between the two women with determined looks, before he let out a sigh and nodded reluctantly - "Alright, count me in. Let’s get it done quickly."
Smile bloomed on Emily’s lips as she shared a glance of relief with Irene. The latter hurriedly cast a spell to lock any smell or sound from leaving the room before she took out two bags of blood and handed one to Lauren. "Let’s have our fill first. It will help us with our control later."
Emily turned her attention toward the long shelves filled with wine bottles and alcohols while she gave the two vampires some privacy while they fed.
After that, Irene opened up the Wine Bottle they had selected for Shadow while Lauren took out a dagger and handed it to Emily.
Placing her thumb right over the face of the bottle, Emily made a cut on her thumb with the sharp tip of the dagger and allowed several drops of her blood to mix with the wine.
Irene was quick to heal her wound once enough of her blood had mixed in the wine, and Lauren cleared the dagger from any hint of blood. The two of them even cast spells to dissipate any hint of the smell of blood present in the room.
"Are you both alright?" Emily asked when she noticed that Lauren was looking slightly flustered though not in too bad of a condition where he could have lost hid control.
"Don’t worry about us. We are fine thanks to the blood we just consumed." Irene answered as she handed the now sealed wine bottle to Emily. "Here. I will leave the rest to you."
