The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 311: The Weird Fae King
Emily sat under the huge pavilion built at the shore of a pond. Her eyes keenly took in the beautiful surrounding. There was a stone bridge built over the pond and a huge old willow tree was standing right next to the other end of the bridge.
As far as her eyes could see, there was only the dense forest surrounding the little clearing where she was currently waiting to meet her new mentor, the Fae King.
Shadow had already left after dropping her at the clearing which was supposed to be her new training ground and it looked just as out of place in the middle of the forest as she probably looked sitting under the pavilion.
She looked at her watch and realized that barely five minutes had passed since she appeared in the Fae Kingdom but that wasnt even the right term to use for the place where she was currently at. From what she learned through Shadow, the clearing was located at the border of the wards surrounding the Fae Kingdom.
So, in short, she was at a place that was not inside reg Fae Kingdom but was still considered the property, or grounds, of the Faes.
A sigh left her lips as she placed her head on the wooden table and started thumping her hands on the table. She didn’t get to do it for much longer as a very sudden and unfamiliar voice interrupted her.
"Impatient."
Emily almost jumped out of her seat as she hurriedly looked around in search of the person who had spoken the word. Her gaze then landed on a man standing on the bridge as the breeze blew his waist-length shiny silver hair and his silky white robes.
She didn’t need to be a genius to know that this man was none other than the Fae King and the realization only made her more surprised. Though she wasn’t really expecting the King to be some old geek as he was a newly crowned one, she still wasn’t expecting him to be such an ethereal looking one.
She wasn’t sure how she forget about the part that the Faes were among the most beautiful beings in the supernatural world after the angels. No doubt, the man standing in front of her eyes was beyond beautiful.
His silver hair almost made her jealous of someone’s hair for the very first time. His eyes were bright green and somehow they looked, even more, prettier than hers. With straight eyebrows, full red lips, milky skin, and a sharp jawline, he had every aspect of ethereal beauty. He was tall, probably six feet five or something, and his aura screamed power.
"And impolite." The man spoke again and she noticed just how deep his voice sounded as if it was coming from the depth of the ocean.
"Huh?" She responded with a clueless expression as she recalled the two words that he had spoken out of tge blue - impatient and impolite.
"You are both impatient and impolite." The king spoke while clarifying the meaning behind his words as he walked toward the pavilion. "It took you barely five minutes to start fidgeting and even after knowing my identity, you didn’t greet me. So those two terms suit you perfectly."
Emily clenched her teeth as she tried to hold herself back from spouting something that would definitely not make the high and mighty king feel good about her. So, instead of saying something in response, she just bowed her head to greet the King and immediately heard him sigh.
"You don’t even know how to greet properly."
She looked up at the man and stared at him with her mouth hanging open. What was wrong with her way of greeting? Was he expecting her to kneel and kotow to him?
"It’s alright. Today, we are going to find all your weak points so that you can start mastering every single one of them from tomorrow onwards. Your first lesson will be on patience, then you will learn how to be polite and also the rules and regulations of greeting others. Now, let’s see what your next lesson will be on." The King spoke as he took a look at her from head to toe.
"How old are you?"
"Twenty-two."
"What’s your height?"
"Five foot five."
"What do you do for a living?"
"I have six rich brothers to feed me."
There! She couldn’t help it anymore, the dude was testing her patience way too much, King or not.
The King arched his eyebrows as he stared at her, his expression clearly staed how unimpressed he was by her words and tone.
She didn’t look away as she stared back at him. What she didn’t expect was for the King to suddenly fling his hand right at her face. Her eyes widened and somehow her body moved on instinct even before her mind registered what was happening and somehow, she succeeded in saving her nose from breaking.
"What’s wrong with you?" She shouted in alarm as she moved to stand far away from the man but it didn’t help much as she found him launching another attack at her. The force with which his body moved was too strong for him to be just testing her.
She managed to save herself from his attacks a couple of more times but she wasn’t really any match to him and at last, one of his fists finally connected with her right shoulder and she almost felt her hand breaking off.
If she thought that tge man would stop there, she wa so wrong. He took hold of her injured hand and pulled it behind her back, making her cry out in pain. "Fine, fine! I give in. I give in, just let me go!"
Emily was sure that she was shouting at the top of her lungs but she didn’t care, her entire right hand was in so much pain that she just wanted to surrender no matter what. However, the pain disappeared almost immediately as he made her turn around but still didnt let go of her hand.
"Hey! Thanks for healing my hand but can you let go now..." She tried to pull her hand away from his hold but again, she was no match to him, both in powers and in physical ability.
The king’s eyes were fixed on the platinum charm bracelet that she was wearing and tge look in his eyes made her confused about why the bracelet caught his attention.
"Where did you get this bracelet from?" He suddenly asked as he brushed his thumb across the cold metal. His eyes refused to move away from the bracelet.
"One of my brothers gave it to me." She answered while changing glances between her bracelet and the king. No matter how much she thought about it, she was unable to find anything interesting bout the bracelet that would make reg Fae King so interested in it.
The man finally looked up at her but still didn’t let go of her hand and the look in his eyes told her that he was far more interested in her bracelet than she initially thought. "Which brother exactly?" He asked.
Emily let out a sigh as she responded, "Do you even know any of my brothers?"
"Maybe I know this one."
The response from the king left her completely dumbfounded for the next couple of moments. "You... what are you talking about? Why are you so interested in my bracelet and what’s that about knowing my brother?" She hurriedly asked all the questions that were buzzing in her brain.
The Fae King finally let go of her hand as he took a step away from her and once again shook his head as if he was again disappointed by her behavior, not like she really cared.
"Fine! Let’s make a deal here." He suddenly proposed, once again taking her by total surprise. The man was way weirder than she first thought. His every move was totally unexpected, you could never guess what he was going to say or do next the very following moment.
"What kind of deal?" She asked as she couldn’t deny that his offer had piqued her interest. Besides, she was still curious to know exactly why he was so interested in her bracelet and what he meant by knowing her brother.
The King pointed at her wrist and as she followed the direction of his signal, she realized that he was actually pointing at the bracelet. She looked back at him and this time, she was the one arching her eyebrows in question and equal interest.
"You will bring me the man who gave you this bracelet and I’ll promise you one thing in return as long as your demand won’t harm anyone."
Emily could hardly believe what she was hearing. The Fae King just promised to fulfill her one demand. Exactly what was his connection with that particular brother of hers?
