The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy!-Chapter 698: A Three-Man Mission
Vito’s name had come up quite a few times now — not just in this investigation about Yuri’s disappearance. Even so, whenever a name kept resurfacing, Atlas made sure to keep tabs on that person.
Now that the name crossed his mind again, he finally decided.
"Now that I think about it, Vito has no reason to be in Novera," Lola hummed as they waited for Haji and Scarlet. "Even after all these years, he doesn’t really bother me."
And that was a fact.
Vito was not someone who would usually go out of his way to trouble Lola. Since she left, he would only send things occasionally. But back in Novera, not only had Vito bothered her, he had crossed several lines for some reason. The guy had almost gotten himself killed because he drew Atlas’s attention.
That was why Lola called Vito a lucky man.
She snapped out of her thoughts when the door opened. Looking up, she saw Haji and Scarlet walk in. The duo paused by the door, scanning the room.
"You called us?" Scarlet broke the silence, standing near the door, her eyes on Atlas as if no one else mattered.
Atlas leaned back slightly. Having already discussed things with Lola, he didn’t waste time.
"This is a classified mission. No one else will know about it except the people in this room."
Scarlet nodded while Haji scratched the back of his head.
"Wait," Haji cleared his throat, pointing at Scarlet. "Is this because we have great chemistry and somehow you guys want to build a love team between me and her?"
"A love team?" Hugo frowned, only for Slater to lean closer and whisper dramatically, "Ahh... that’s dangerous. My wife will kill me if something like that happens between me and Mint."
"Second Brother, don’t worry about you and Mint. She’s crazy, and you’re dense. That woman should stay single forever."
"No," Lola said sternly. "It’s not because of that."
"Yuri has been abducted," Atlas added.
Scarlet’s expression hardened instantly.
"What?" she blurted, turning to Allen for confirmation. "How could that happen? She was supposed to be on a break after solving her last case."
"Apparently, she was secretly working on something else," Lola explained. "She knew what might happen, so she left us some crumbs to follow."
"That’s why I called both of you," Atlas continued. "You know Yuri, and you’re the only ones I trust in the Order besides Allen."
Scarlet’s jaw tightened. "I’ll find her." She nodded, then added, "But I don’t think I need anyone’s help."
"You do," Atlas countered.
"But why him?"
"Because just like in Ravah, Haji knows the person you’ll need to find," Lola leaned forward, resting her arms on the table. She looked at Scarlet, then at Haji. "Vito."
The moment Haji heard the name, deep lines formed on his face.
"Vito?" he repeated. "That guy... wait, don’t tell me he’s the one who took Yuri?"
"We’re not sure yet," Lola said, picking up the folder Allen had prepared. "That’s why we need both of you to locate him and observe what he’s been doing."
Haji’s face darkened, his jaw tightening.
"Sit," Atlas said after a moment. "We’ll brief you on everything. It’ll be long, but we don’t have time to waste."
Scarlet and Haji exchanged looks, then nodded and took their seats.
Allen stood near the board and began briefing them on the overall situation. Some information was withheld, but he made sure to include the pills being transported in Ravah, Vito’s organization’s involvement, his possible connection to Ashkar, and why he had been in Novera when Yuri was in Sangard.
The more Scarlet and Haji listened, the darker their expressions became.
"That man’s greed and ambition truly know no bounds," Haji ground his teeth, his fist trembling as memories resurfaced — Vito shoving him back in an underground brawl in Novera, reminding him he’d always be nothing more than a dog.
If not for Lola’s warning and Atlas’s intervention, Haji might have been dragged down with him. And deep down, Haji knew Lola had brought him into the Order to rid him of the fear and trauma Vito had planted in his heart.
After all, Vito had access to Ashkar and could have used Himari as leverage.
But now Himari was here. Vito had nothing left to hold over him.
"I’ll find him," Haji said, lifting his head and meeting Atlas’s gaze. Then he looked at Lola. "She and I will do it. Just the two of us."
"I didn’t say I was going," Lola muttered, even though part of her was already considering it.
"I agree with him," Hugo nodded. "They should go. Not saying you’re not capable, sis. Actually, I’d love to go on a mission with you. From what I hear, you’re like an angel at work."
Scarlet and Haji turned to him at the same time. "Who spread that fake news?"
"So I thought it’d be nice to have an angel guiding me."
Angel of death?
Now everyone stared at Hugo, appalled at whoever had filled his head with nonsense.
"The point is," Hugo continued, "Haji and Scarlet can handle it. But they’ll need one more support."
Silence fell as they considered a three-person team.
After a moment, Haji raised a hand.
"I have someone in mind," he said, watching everyone wait. "Chuck."
For a second, no one reacted, and then their faces twitched. Scarlet, especially.
"HUH?!?!"

Minutes later, Scarlet and Haji left the room to prepare for their departure. The duo would leave the next day, and they had a lot to handle today. Neither of them complained, since this involved Yuri and Vito.
They understood that Vito might be involved in the abduction. And if not, he surely knew enough to navigate whatever was going on. After all, Allen had just confirmed that the hijacked ship had been carrying goods Vito was shipping.
Connecting the dots, the main reason he might have been in Novera was that it was close to Sangard, yet far enough to keep himself safe.
"But why would he suggest that guy?" Slater hummed, confused. "Didn’t that guy nearly get their team killed before?"
"Maybe Haji wants to finally bury the guy alive?" Lola guessed.
"Chuck may be like that, but he’s one of the best snipers in the Order," Allen explained. "Otherwise, the master wouldn’t have agreed to Baby’s suggestion — even if it came from Baby."
Atlas tilted his head slightly. "It’s a three-man mission," he said. "It’s up to them who their third member is."
"For now... we need to determine who we can truly trust," he added. "Whether this succeeds or not, we’ll need our own army. I have a feeling this will blow out of proportion, and we’ll be at a disadvantage if we do not fix the Order."
Everyone nodded.
With that, the meeting concluded. Their first move had been made — sending Scarlet, Haji, and Chuck on a three-man mission to the Land of the Pharaohs.
