Talentless Extra Of The Legendary Hero Academy-Chapter 152: Forced cooperation
Chapter 152: Forced cooperation
She hissed. "Is that why you let him go? So that he can call for help?"
Severin shrugged.
She looked at him with unmasked hatred and anger. "You said you wanted me dead and now you want to work with me and even help. Do you think I’m a fool?"
"No," Severin began slowly. "You’re not. But you’re also not stupid. Of course, I initially wanted to kill you, but then I saw how I can use your powers. It’s a win-win. We can go back to killing each other after.
"You can also try to stab me in the back. Or I can do that. Let’s leave it for after we cooperate."
She watched him without speaking. On one hand, what Severin said made sense. Not the nonsense about him helping her and them working together, but the part where she had only little energy left and killing him would leave her so depleted that she wouldn’t be able to teleport to safety when reinforcements arrived.
Severin shrugged. "You can also try to kill me with your hand, but you won’t find that easy. So what’s it? Kill me with the last bit of your energy left or leave?"
Her right hand flexed. "Why? Is this why you lured me out here? How do you even know where I’m hiding?"
Severin smirked behind his mask. "No. I lured you here to kill you, Lito. I’ve realized that when you don’t break the jaw of the lion while only leaving it wounded, it’s just calling to have the jaws on your neck later.
"But then I saw how well you’re fighting and how powerful you are and I thought, ’can’t I use this jaw for something else?’ So yes. I have now changed my mind. My enemies have gotten larger and they are more powerful than me.
"Your gain? You’ll get healed. You’ll get more powerful and then you can kill me. But I do have the right to fight back."
Lito was frozen solid. She’d never seen anyone so shameless like the person standing in front of her. She felt a chill down her spine as she looked at him. "What... Just what are you doing? What are you going to gain from all of this?"
As much as Lito wanted to kill the little shit, she also hesitated because she knew she needed to stabilize her talent so that the new powers of her Advancement Stage would be solid.
So she hesitated.
After all, she was also driven by the need to get stronger. A need that forced her to evolve at the most curious and dangerous stage of her life.
"Gain? I just want to be alive," Severin’s voice turned weary. "I was so weak that surviving a day was a miracle. But now, I must survive to the very end and see what comes after. And... see what the hell happened to the book."
She looked at him with confusion, but before she could do anything else, Severin made a decision for her.
He reached upward toward his face and then pulled his mask free. The shadow that was intertwined with the mask that made it meld with his body slid free, and his real face appeared.
He smiled.
Severin smiled and Lito flinched.
Severin’s face wasn’t his face. It was blackened and irregular and flickered. It was a shadow. "Ah! I told them! This is not the real me!"
A light flashed in Lito’s eyes. "So... all this bullshit about killing you, it’s not even the real you! Is that why you were so brave and courageous!"
Severin smiled. "You are wrong. My aim tonight has been accomplished. I’m just doing a side mission while I gather some information. Although, your death would have been an added bonus. Your cooperation would be enough."
She clenched her jaws and felt like blasting him away, but she realized how useless it would be and instead she turned away in defeat. She’d been played. So thoroughly that she didn’t even know who to blame.
She had rushed over, blinded by her emotions. "Fuck!"
"I will contact you the same way. Take care, Lito!" With that, Severin bowed and his body fell away, the darkness mixing with the night and vanished, leaving behind his clothes and mask.
"Fuck!" Lito growled. She was wounded, her internal energy got even worse during the fight, and worst of all, she made an enemy of the Headless Knight and whoever was trying to kidnap Severin. She was dragged into the mess.
And yet she didn’t succeed in her endeavor.
"Nice one, Severin. Nice one. You have this round. You want cooperation, right? I will give you one." Her body flickered and the next instant she disappeared as well.
The ball of energy that contained the Headless fell and crumbled. The Headless Knight strode out with jerky, angry movements. "Lito, eh?" There was a threatening tone in his voice.

Darius Faulkner had ’rushed’ to the library after the alarm was sounded that Head Librarian Teresa was dead.
The source of death was explosion and the case? Terrorist organization... likely the Scars.
"I hope the Academy higher-ups can shift full eradication of the Scar. This is just too much! How dare they attack our staff!" Vaelith Shouyn shouted, her eyes flashing with light.
Darius Faulkner nodded silently and looked around, his face solemn. His people had cleaned the place up earlier and written out a few messages about how they would kill all Etherion users.
It was immediately believed to be the Scars. They are crazy like that, so it shouldn’t be above them.
"We should contact the Kareth family. I think there’s still a bit of rats left for them to catch," Darius Faulkner said. Darius was impressed with the quick work that Jade Callahan did, and he made a mental note to recommend him to even more higher-ups.
Vaelith, the commander of the security, glared. The brief crisis the Academy faced was hard on her and affected her the most. It made her anxious and angry. "I will do that. Then I will spend my holidays personally rooting them out of their hiding place."

Author’s note.
Thank you so much everyone.
For some reasons I can’t comment—reply and such—on novelkiss because I once over did it because of a shameless situation.
That’s why I didn’t reply to reviews and gifts. But I want you to know that I see it all and I’m really greatful.
Thank you, HeavyWaterGoose for the review, I’m really glad that you enjoy my work.
