Chapter 85: Chapter 85: Jealousy

The Sinclair residence.

Mr. Miller stood at Julian Sinclair’s bedroom door, while Mrs. Miller was downstairs brewing soup.

The family doctor had been by Julian Sinclair’s bedside all night, fearing an infection from the wound.

Finally, Julian Sinclair gradually awakened, and his first reaction was to call Mr. Miller in. Mr. Miller rushed in with a flustered expression, "Young master, you’re awake!"

"Where is she?" Julian Sinclair tried to sit up, but his shoulder hurt too much; the pain was unbearable with even the slightest movement.

"Young master, don’t move! Your shoulder... it’s so burned..." Mr. Miller couldn’t finish his sentence, feeling quite uncomfortable. "Young master, I’ve made sure that Miss Moira is safe. Please rest assured and take good care of yourself..."

Only then did Julian Sinclair slightly relax, relieved that she was safe.

Yesterday, while saving Moira Young, Julian Sinclair’s shoulder got burned. As he was leaving the pharmacy, he happened to run into Heath Sterling passing by. His shoulder was too severely burned to drive, so he entrusted Moira Young to Heath, asking him to take her to the hospital.

"Leave me alone for a bit," Julian Sinclair closed his eyes; he wanted some solitude.

Mr. Miller looked at him worriedly. He couldn’t stay and had no choice but to take the doctor out of the bedroom and wait outside.

After they left, Julian Sinclair’s expression finally showed a trace of change. His bloodshot eyes slowly opened, filled with the scenes he saw and heard last night with Moira Young.

The calls for "Uncle" were like poisonous arrows piercing through his chest mercilessly.

At her most dangerous moment, the person she wanted to see most was him. She believed Uncle would come to rescue her...

She trusted and relied on him so much that even in the moment she was almost engulfed by fire, she still called out for her Uncle...

And what did he do to her?

The veins on Julian Sinclair’s forehead bulged as he clenched his fists. The pain in his heart spread slowly, like vines wrapping around every inch of his skin, making it hard for him to breathe.

He had always thought of himself as no less than a beast, but now he suddenly felt he was even worse than one.

"Young master, Master Adrian is here." Mr. Miller knocked on the door.

Adrian Grant, without much ceremony, opened the door and walked in, "I heard our young Julian got hurt, so your little brother came to visit specially."

"How’s it going? Dead or not?"

"Get out." Julian Sinclair shot him a side glance, expressionless.

"I’m just saying, why did you run to Arden University in the middle of the night? If you hadn’t gone, you wouldn’t have gotten hurt," Adrian Grant said lazily, sitting on the sofa watching him.

"That girl Moira Young, really. Why not just stay in her dorm sleeping? Instead, she went out to buy medicine late at night and just happened to get caught in trouble, almost losing her life for no reason."

"Shut up," Julian Sinclair frowned.

"I asked around, and it seems the arsonist had personal issues with the pharmacist on duty that day. Apparently, the pharmacist had an affair with his wife, got caught, and so the arsonist got furious, took out the pharmacist, and did the same to his wife."

Adrian Grant shrugged, "It had nothing to do with that girl at all, yet she just had to get involved and offer herself up."

"Have you said enough?"

"Do you think that silly girl knows you were the one who saved her?" Adrian Grant continued with interest, a gossipy look on his face.

Julian Sinclair closed his eyes, knowing his talkative nature and already used to it.

"I’m just curious about how you knew Moira Young was going to be in trouble?" Adrian Grant’s face nearly pressed up to Julian Sinclair’s, eager to know why.

Julian Sinclair opened his eyes, giving him a calm look, just about to speak.

"Don’t tell me it’s some psychic connection, no one’s buying that!" Adrian Grant pouted, knowing what he was about to say.

"Before I went, I didn’t believe it either," Julian Sinclair actually said this to himself, never imagining he’d developed a special connection with Moira Young.

Even he couldn’t believe it.

"No way! You’re really saying that?" Adrian Grant was so shocked he fell back onto the sofa, staring at him in disbelief. "Nine years together, and it already developed into that?"

"You and I have grown up together since we were kids. Why don’t we have such a connection?"

"Because you’re not her," Julian Sinclair’s deep and weary voice was somewhat hoarse.

Adrian Grant was at a loss, "What do you mean ’I’m not her’? Wasn’t it you who was angry at yourself a few days ago, couldn’t even bear hearing Moira Young’s name, and now, all you’re talking about is this psychic connection?"

"Fickle man!" Adrian Grant glared at him, "Have you come to your senses? Are you thinking of bringing that girl back?"

Julian Sinclair remained silent.

Adrian Grant waited for a long time without seeing a response, let out a small sigh, it seemed Julian Sinclair still couldn’t get over his own internal conflicts.

"We all know how much that girl relies on you. She’s like a koala hanging onto you all day at home; she’s been your little shadow since childhood. When you’re on the sofa, she would never leave it by a centimeter."

"Other than acting coquettishly with you, have you seen her talk much with others? Just speaking of me, I’ve watched her grow up too, always doting on her, but have you seen her act spoiled toward me? Rely on me?"

"You know her feelings toward you, so I say, just go get her back. No matter how stubborn she is, she’s still a child, still the same Moira Young who can’t live without you."

Adrian Grant was earnestly reasoning with Julian Sinclair. He couldn’t bear to see him tormenting himself like this, causing Moira Young pain as well.

"Before, I advised you not to abandon your painstaking plans for Moira Young because I knew how hard it was for you to get where you are today. I witnessed all your hardships, so I couldn’t allow you to let it all crumble for a girl."

"But now, it’s different. Your plans have perfectly concluded; the authority in The Sinclair Group is obviously yours. Although you still need to make the final move with the Rhodes family, it’s not a difficult task. For you, getting engaged to the Rhodes family is just a step, no brain power needed."

"You should take advantage before Moira Young becomes someone else’s. Quickly bring her back. You’re wrestling with yourself daily, which is pointless. Even for Moira Young’s sake, you should bring her back and resume your past life. No matter whom she’s with now, she’s surely happier with you."

Adrian Grant spoke until his mouth was dry, shouting towards the door, "Mrs. Miller—fetch me a glass of water!"

"Don’t drink, get out." Julian Sinclair’s exquisitely defined eyes glinted with a chill. If he could move, he’d have kicked Adrian Grant out by now.

"I won’t!" Adrian Grant knew Julian Sinclair’s personality and deliberately refused to leave, just to annoy him.

Mrs. Miller brought in two bowls of soup, as per the doctor’s order, for health, "Master Adrian, have some soup first. It’s nothing special, but good to quench your thirst."

"Sure, anything’s fine. Anyway, I’m not leaving until I’m happy today. Mrs. Miller, bring me a few more bowls."

Adrian Grant crossed his legs and continued chattering non-stop.
