Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 84: Car Racing
Heath Sterling’s eyes immediately filled with rage, and he didn’t care whether the person before him was male or female. Just as he was about to act, Moira Young expressionlessly splashed her water cup over.
Heath Sterling was stunned.
"First of all, I haven’t offended you in any way," Moira Young said coldly, a sense of distance gradually seeping from her eyes.
"Secondly, your behavior is very rude. It’s fine if you’re uncultured, but forcing me to act like you is unacceptable." Moira Young glanced at the cup in her hand. While everyone in front of her was still in shock, she called out, "Waiter, fill it up."
The waiter was a man, and Moira Young’s request was hard for any man to refuse, so he eagerly refilled her water.
"What do you want to—" The girl, wide-eyed, didn’t finish her sentence before Moira Young, right in front of her, splashed another cup of water on her face.
"Are you fucking looking for death?" The girl couldn’t take it anymore and rushed forward to strike, but Heath Sterling tripped her with a kick!
"Got a tattoo and think you’re a gangster? Hey—you—" Heath Sterling shouted to a table behind him, "You’re her boyfriend, right? Hurry up and take her away, coward!"
The guy recognized Heath Sterling—many bars here were owned by the Sterling family, and he couldn’t afford to provoke him. Grateful, he dragged his girlfriend away.
After they left, Heath Sterling turned back smugly, only to find Moira Young still expressionless, looking at him coldly.
"Moi—" He had only just called out her name.
Moira Young’s face was full of disappointment as she turned away and left.
Heath Sterling quickly grabbed a few tissues and chased after her, finally catching her at the elevator.
"I’m sorry," Heath Sterling realized it was his fault that Moira Young got dragged into this and got splashed with water for no reason. Anxiously, he tried to wipe Moira Young but she dodged him.
"Please don’t be mad, okay? You’re already sick, let me help you wipe it off!" Heath Sterling had never seen Moira Young like this before, and since all his previous relationships involved girls doting on him, he was completely lost on what to do.
"Calm down, calm down," Heath Sterling tried to console her, and when he saw her expression somewhat soften, he started to wipe the water droplets for her.
"Moira, we ordered so much food and didn’t even eat it. Want to go back and have some more?" Heath Sterling tentatively tugged at her sleeve, looking pitiful.
Moira Young wiped the water off her face and, after thinking about it, concluded it would be a waste not to eat all the delicious dishes they ordered.
Ever since she left the Sinclair family, aside from the fish soup she had, she hadn’t had a decent meal. Finally having an appetite today, she wanted to try some new dishes, but a ridiculous incident had upset her.
She wasn’t sure why, but she had been getting angry more frequently lately.
"Let’s go, let’s go!" Heath Sterling saw hope and finally sighed in relief, then led Moira Young back to their seat.
Moira Young didn’t speak to Heath Sterling and just focused on eating her food. No matter what Heath Sterling said, she ignored him.
By the end, Heath Sterling himself was hungry and began eating while explaining the situation from start to finish.
"Really, believe me, I haven’t been with that girl’s sister," Heath Sterling said seriously, putting down his chopsticks, afraid Moira Young wouldn’t believe him.
Moira Young gave him a faint glance, "Heath, I’m angry because you actually seemed proud of yourself earlier."
"Huh?" Heath Sterling was taken aback, "I’ve just never seen you like that before..."
"Like what?"
"Well... such a strong side of you."
Moira Young suddenly felt a bitter smile inside. Since childhood, she had lived in Julian Sinclair’s heart, being pampered and cared for, never thinking she needed to be strong, because she believed her Uncle would protect and love her forever.
She never imagined that now she would slowly turn into someone she never thought she’d become.
"Moira Young, you really have so many surprises waiting for me, and I don’t want to give up pursuing you even more," Heath Sterling said, gazing at Moira Young with admiration. When he was in high school, he was merely interested in her, and after seeing Thea Thorne constantly bully her, he developed a strong protective desire, eventually realizing he liked her.
Now, he felt that he could live without anyone else in his life, but definitely not without her.
Moira Young didn’t expect Heath Sterling to say that suddenly. Her cheeks flushed slightly, and she ignored him, focusing on eating.
"Later, I’ll take you to school to pack your things. I don’t know if the dorm matron will let me in," Heath Sterling knew Moira Young wouldn’t respond to such comments, so he changed the topic.
"You don’t need to go up; I don’t have much stuff," Moira Young said casually, although inside she felt heartbroken enough to cry. She had nothing but a few clothes and books.
Heath Sterling checked the time, then waited until Moira Young finished eating before going downstairs together to drive to the school.
Because Heath Sterling’s car was too eye-catching and particularly loud, people at the school couldn’t help but look, and immediately noticed Heath Sterling in the driver’s seat and Moira Young in the passenger seat.
Everyone pointed and whispered, especially the girls, who wished they could kill Moira Young.
Moira Young steeled her resolve; having faced life and death once, she didn’t want to struggle under others’ scrutiny anymore.
Since yesterday, she decided that whether she lived prominently or quietly stumbled through life, she just wanted to cherish every moment, fearing nothing even if she became the target of everyone’s spite.
Heath Sterling instinctively wanted to roll up the window for Moira Young, thinking she wouldn’t want others to see her.
"It’s fine, no need," Moira Young glanced at Heath Sterling, her expression unchanged.
Heath Sterling didn’t expect Moira Young to change so drastically all of a sudden. Shocked, he wondered if she’d really lost her mind.
After pondering for a long time, he suddenly burst into laughter and then lowered the car roof!
This shocked Moira Young, "What are you doing?"
"This car’s trunk is practically non-existent; I’m lowering the top to make it easier for you to move things later," Heath Sterling began to fib again. He actually just wanted everyone to know Moira Young rode in his car so they would think she was his girlfriend.
To Heath Sterling, having Moira Young as his girlfriend was a source of great pride.
The car slowly drove along the school’s road, and everyone by the roadside could clearly see the scene.
"Heath Sterling—!" Suddenly, Carter Porter showed up on the roadside, spotting Heath Sterling’s car, and he waved.
Heath Sterling pulled over, and Carter Porter then saw Moira Young in the car.
"Moira’s here, too? Where did you guys go without calling me?" Carter Porter, being Heath Sterling’s good buddy, directly opened the car door and climbed in.
"Why would we call you, third wheel?" Heath Sterling gave him a sidelong glance.
"Hey, that’s not right. What do you mean by third wheel? If it weren’t for me, there wouldn’t be you two—" His words stuck mid-sentence.
Carter Porter felt a bit awkward, so he quickly changed the topic, patting Moira Young’s shoulder from behind, "Moira, my mom invited us over for dinner; do you have time?"
Moira Young nodded, "Sure."
She could live peacefully and attend university all because of the Porter family. If Mrs. Porter invited her for dinner, how could she refuse?
Heath Sterling sneaked a few glances and coughed, "I’m coming, too."
"My mom didn’t invite you!" Carter Porter was displeased and reached over to strangle Heath Sterling’s neck, "She’s already categorized you as a bad influence!"
"Carter! Heath’s driving!" Moira Young was shocked as she watched the two of them scuffle, the car swerving wildly! It was incredibly unsafe!
"Aren’t you supposed to be my buddy? Even Moira worries about my safety, but all you do is choke me!"
Carter Porter let go of his arm, snorted, and sat back down without causing any more trouble.
