Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 291: Throwing a Tantrum
She rubbed her sleepy eyes, covered her mouth, and yawned before weakly speaking: "Mrs. Miller, why are you here."
"Young master asked me to come make breakfast for you, all dishes you love, hurry up and try them." Mrs. Miller hadn’t seen Moira Young for quite some time, and she was thinking of her longingly, her affection overflowing.
"Young master?" Moira Young woke up instantly, Julian Sinclair was back?
She quickly scrambled out of bed and ran to the living room, and sure enough, Julian Sinclair was sitting upright on the sofa reading a book, looking calm and as if nothing was the matter.
Moira Young glanced at his nonchalant demeanor, her face slightly tensed, and headed straight to the bathroom to freshen up.
Mrs. Miller was unaware of what had occurred between them, so once Moira Young was done freshening up, she pulled her to the dining table immediately.
Julian Sinclair didn’t need to be called at all; he was already sitting at the table before Moira Young came out.
Seeing Moira Young sit down, he quickly ladled soup for her, but still with an expressionless face, saying: "Drink the soup."
Mrs. Miller had intended to ladle soup for Moira Young, but she hadn’t anticipated Julian Sinclair’s quick actions.
"Joe, take it away." Staring at the soup before her, Moira Young furrowed her brows, signaling Joe to remove it.
Joe was taken aback, puzzled: "Moira, this is the red date coix seed soup Mrs. Miller spent two hours boiling specifically to replenish your energy. Aren’t you going to drink it?"
"You’ve been tired lately too; you drink this bowl." Moira Young casually found an excuse to push the soup away.
Joe hurriedly thanked Moira Young: "Thank you, Moira."
Immediately, Moira Young turned to Mrs. Miller with a sweet smile: "Mrs. Miller, could I trouble you to ladle me another bowl?"
"Sure, I’ll ladle it for you right away." Mrs. Miller genuinely favored Moira Young, having taken care of her since she was young, like her own child, how could she not dote on her?
Julian Sinclair’s goodwill was thus ignored by Moira Young, but he didn’t get angry, instead turning to serve her dishes.
Yet he noticed that although the dishes he served weren’t refused by Moira Young, she merely left them on the plate without eating.
"Moira..."
"Mrs. Miller, another bowl of soup, please."
Julian Sinclair had just begun to speak when Moira Young cut him off straight away.
The atmosphere became somewhat awkward, Joe was aware but dared not say anything, sitting quietly in a corner with the bowl of soup, not daring to glance around.
Although Mrs. Miller was aged, she was not slow-witted. The way the two interacted was notably different from before, even if she were thick-skinned, she’d notice things were odd.
But the matter of young master and young miss, it was not her place as a servant to interfere.
After dinner, Joe helped Mrs. Miller tidy up the tableware.
Mrs. Miller then took the chance to quietly ask Joe when Julian Sinclair and Moira Young were both not present: "Are the young master and young miss having a tiff?"
Joe hesitated and dared not speak.
"Speak softly to me, Mrs. Miller won’t meddle, just wants to know what happened between them." Seeing Joe’s hesitant demeanor, Mrs. Miller already guessed there was definitely something up.
Joe let out a deep sigh: "Since you want to know, I’ll tell you, but don’t go asking Moira about it; she’s been very temperamental lately. Just mentioning President Sinclair makes her sulk."
"Alright, rest assured, I won’t say a word." Mrs. Miller gestured with a promise.
"They argued a couple of days ago." Joe narrated the recent events vividly.
After speaking, she whispered, "Actually, I think it wasn’t entirely President Sinclair’s fault this time, Moira was a bit unreasonable herself."
"Miss is not like that, she’s grown up beside the young master, how could she neglect him over another man."
"But this event is real, everyone saw it, and at that time, I was right next to Moira, saw clearly why Julian Sinclair stormed off because Moira was getting close to Aiden Webb."
Mrs. Miller was astonished: "Are you saying this is absolutely true? Not a single lie?"
Joe nodded continuously: "I swear to God, I absolutely didn’t lie! Nor did I exaggerate."
"This shouldn’t be the case, young miss has always been obedient, how could she do such a thing?" Mrs. Miller was puzzled, feeling this wasn’t typical of Moira Young.
Joe was first learning that Moira Young and Julian Sinclair had been together since childhood, previously thinking Julian Sinclair might end things with Moira, but it seemed this decade-long relationship wouldn’t end over small trifles.
Thinking of this, she breathed a sigh of relief, her confidence gradually increasing.
As long as Moira and Julian remained loving, she could keep being Moira’s assistant, and over the long run, learn a lot.
"What’s with the silly grin?" Mrs. Miller was still contemplating the authenticity of the matter when she turned to see Joe grinning inanely with the dishes still in hand.
Joe was a bit embarrassed, sticking her tongue out and sharing her inner thoughts, which amused Mrs. Miller.
"Why are you so easily pleased? Stick with our young miss, and soaring success won’t be far off." Mrs. Miller teased.
"Really?" Joe was somewhat incredulous.
"Though young miss isn’t very old, she’s been affectionate from a young age, treating the people around her very well. As long as you don’t betray her, benefits will abound."
Mrs. Miller praised Moira Young wholeheartedly.
Joe agreed, since working with Moira Young, life seemed to have improved greatly, perhaps Moira Young was truly her lucky charm, she definitely would hold onto her dearly.
The kitchen was lively with conversation, whereas the living room was silent.
Though Moira Young and Julian Sinclair sat side by side on the sofa, Moira kept a cold expression throughout, showing Julian not a hint of goodwill.
Knowing he was at fault, Julian Sinclair dared not complain, though always unaccustomed to domestic chores, at this moment patiently peeling mangosteen.
"Eat mangosteen." He placed the peeled mangosteen in the crystal fruit platter before Moira, indicating her to taste it.
Moira Young instead turned to pick up lychees, not even glancing at the mangosteen in the platter.
Julian Sinclair wouldn’t be disheartened, seeing her want lychee, he peeled some for her again. However, this time Moira Young didn’t eat the lychee, her small hands quietly reaching for peaches.
No matter what Julian Sinclair gave her, she refused to eat.
"Moira..."
"I suddenly remembered I haven’t memorized my script." Moira Young abruptly recalled something, stood up instantly and headed to her room, once again cutting off Julian Sinclair’s words.
Watching Moira Young’s retreating figure, Julian Sinclair’s gaze deepened.
