Chapter 278: Chapter 278: Acting Skills

Julian Sinclair instinctively read out loud: "Your acting is terrible, you’d better watch it a few more times. I don’t want to see your zombie face."

...

The air in the room suddenly went quiet.

Moira Young awkwardly rubbed her nose and tentatively asked Julian Sinclair, "Is my acting really that bad?"

"Do you want to hear the truth?" Julian Sinclair paused for two seconds before speaking slowly.

"Yes, I want the most honest opinion and suggestions, no lying to me." Moira Young had no real sense of her acting skills. If no one pointed out any flaws, she’d naturally assume she was decent enough.

As she spoke, Moira Young looked towards Joe and the housekeeper, Liu, with a serious face: "You two should weigh in as well."

Joe pointed at himself, feeling a bit troubled as he forced a smile: "Sister Moira, do I have to say something too? I’m just a small assistant; I really don’t know these things."

"You might not understand, but you can tell if it’s good or bad, right?" Moira Young furrowed her brows, "You have to speak up today."

"So-s-so, should I really say it?" Joe swallowed hard, seemingly ready to go to the battlefield.

Moira Young nodded, granting her acquiescence.

Joe cleared his throat, earnestly recalling Moira Young’s performance on set, his mouth slightly open, yet nothing came out.

"Well, spit it out?" Moira Young grew a bit impatient.

"Actually, I think Sister Moira, your performance was quite good; your expressions and gestures were on point. It’s just that there wasn’t much emotion in your line delivery." Joe dared not say anything too harsh, fearing Moira Young might get angry and hit him.

Housekeeper Liu naturally dared not speak a single bad word about Moira Young either, smiling as he chimed in: "Joe is right. Our Miss is so outstanding, her acting must be good."

Moira Young looked deeply at these two, seriously considering the truthfulness of their words. One was Housekeeper Liu, who had spoiled her since she was young, and the other was Joe, who stuck around her to earn a living.

No way these two would speak the truth. Since that is the case, she could only see how Julian Sinclair would respond.

Originally thinking Julian Sinclair would offer some constructive advice, Moira Young later realized she was overthinking.

Compared to his favoritism, the man in front of her was the least willing to see her unhappy. It was easy to imagine that he wouldn’t point out any of her flaws.

Julian Sinclair stood in front of Moira Young, clutching the script Aiden Webb had sent over, gazing at Moira Young with a deeply doting expression, his lips ever so curved with a gentle smile.

He spoke softly to her: "My Moira is the best girl in the world, how could she possibly not be good at acting?"

Moira Young fell silent.

In this entire room, not a single person was being honest. She was speechless and choked up, turning around in exasperation: "Forget it, I’m going to sleep."

Seeing her leave, Joe didn’t dare linger either and quickly returned to his room. He didn’t dare face Julian Sinclair without Moira Young around.

Once the two left, Julian Sinclair slowly sat on the sofa, his tone lacking the tenderness he reserved for Moira Young, instead carrying a cold chill: "Look into Aiden Webb’s background."

"Yes," Housekeeper Liu accepted the order.

In the early dawn of the next day, Moira Young was pulled out of bed by Julian Sinclair before daybreak.

Lately, perhaps due to a lack of mental stress, Moira Young had been lazier in bed, her voice soft and unwilling: "Uncle, let me sleep a bit more."

"Did you forget something?" Julian Sinclair held the limp Moira Young in his arms, whispering in her ear.

Moira Young, with her eyes closed, said, "It’s early morning, it’s still dark, what could possibly be up?"

"You promised to watch the sunrise with me." Julian Sinclair stated it as a matter of course.

"Stop making things up; when did I promise that?" Moira Young’s muddled mind had no such memory. She concluded that Julian Sinclair was making things up.

Julian Sinclair leaned closely against Moira Young, his large hand passing around her slender waist, touching her navel, his tone rather enticing: "Are you trying to back out?"

"I’m very sleepy." Moira Young couldn’t care whether she had agreed to it or not; she just knew she couldn’t keep her eyes open.

However, Julian Sinclair wasn’t about to let her off so easily. He directly scooped her up, a mischievous smile lingering at his lips: "If you really don’t want to get up, you can continue sleeping. I’ll let you sleep properly all day."

Hearing this, Moira Young immediately opened her eyes, which she previously couldn’t hold open: "Uncle! I’m telling you, today is absolutely impossible. I have scenes to shoot later."

"Did I say I wanted to do anything?" Julian Sinclair raised an amused eyebrow, "Or is it that my little Moira actually expects me to do something to you?"

Moira Young’s face reddened. She jumped off him steadily, quickly stepping back a couple of steps: "I don’t know."

"Come here." Julian Sinclair seemed displeased as he knitted his brows when she moved away.

"No." Moira Young was afraid that if she went over, she’d be ... she backed away even more instead of moving closer.

"Be good." Julian Sinclair gestured for her to come closer, his face no longer wearing the tenderness from earlier.

Moira Young was a bit scared now, biting her red lip as she stood in place, showing no intention of moving closer.

Seeing no response from her, Julian Sinclair took large steps towards her, then placed a large hand on her head, scaring her into closing her eyes tightly.

To her surprise, the anticipated pain never came. When she opened her eyes, she saw Julian Sinclair gently ruffling her hair, his gaze filled with a dazzling smile.

Moira Young was both embarrassed and annoyed: "Uncle! You fooled me!"

Julian Sinclair readily admitted: "So what if I did?"

"You..."

"Awake now? Come watch the sunrise with me." Julian Sinclair teased as he pinched Moira Young’s little nose, carrying her off to get dressed.

After being scared like that, Moira Young could no longer feel the slightest bit sleepy. She could only obediently get dressed and accompany Julian Sinclair to watch the supposed sunrise.

As to when she agreed to it, that no longer mattered. Now that she was awake, she might as well go have a look, after all, she was quite curious.

It was only three in the morning now, and the sun wouldn’t rise for at least another two hours. There was a mountain behind the set, and it wouldn’t take long to drive up there.

Moira Young drank a cup of hot milk that Julian Sinclair gave her before setting out.

By the time they reached the mountaintop, it was only around four o’clock. The sky was still dark, and nothing was visible.

In the summer morning, the mountain air was extremely fresh, and the temperature was just right. Even wearing just a knee-length dress, Moira Young didn’t feel cold.

Since the mountains behind this area were considered a famous movie filming site, there was even a pavilion set up on the mountaintop.

Moira Young immediately found a comfortable spot to sit, holding a cup of hot milk tea, sipping it slowly.

"Why the sudden impulse to take me to watch the sunrise?" Once Julian Sinclair was seated, Moira Young finally voiced her doubt.

Julian Sinclair remained calm as ever, showing no change. He answered slowly, "Do I need a reason to want to watch the sunrise with you?"
