Supreme Devil Lord: I Can Refine All Energy-Chapter 38: Clearing the Area
Eric sighed seeing her expression and then nodded, "Okay."
"Eric?" Riya looked at him wide-eyed, feeling betrayed.
Before Eric could say anything, Elena glared at her, "Don’t instigate him."
"But mother, you just said he is not a good man. What if he—" Riya met her gaze stubbornly.
"You don’t need to worry about that. He owes your father a few favors and should be grateful to him. So, he wouldn’t do anything bad to us." Even though she said that, Elena felt unsure in her heart. Despite that, however, she had no choice but to go to him if she wanted to save Riya and Eric from Luke’s schemes.
Eric patted Riya’s head and smiled, "Don’t worry. Everything will be fine."
He knew this was the best decision because he had just become a cultivator, and even though the system said he was slightly stronger than an average grade one Novice Warrior, he knew he wouldn’t be a match for one since he didn’t know how to fight properly yet, nor did he have any battle techniques.
Therefore, he felt he might not be able to stop Luke even if he only brought a grade one Novice Warrior with him.
As for this uncle?
He wasn’t worried. Since Riya’s father was barely a grade one Novice Warrior at his peak, his friend shouldn’t be much stronger than him. So, once he showed him he was also a warrior, he wouldn’t try anything funny.
’I will have to find a way to take Rosalie to the middle city within the next two days.’ He thought. From what she told him, Luke had said he would return to take her four days later. Since he told her this the day before yesterday, he had just two days left.
’If I can become a grade two Novice Warrior within the next two days, everything will become easier.’ He thought and then sighed.
He had asked the system how much refined energy he would need to level up, and it told him he would need at least 30 units. However, if he first wanted to eliminate the disadvantages caused by his lack of training before becoming a cultivator, he would need much more.
’Maybe I should just break through. I can think about becoming stronger than average afterwards. He mused before shaking his head, ’No. This wouldn’t be a good decision.’
Just when he was thinking, the system screen in his mind changed, attracting his attention.
[Host is a dual cultivator. So, when you have intercourse next time, circulate your dual cultivation technique. It’ll help you gain more Refined Energy while also helping your partner.]
For a moment, he wanted to say why didn’t it inform him of this earlier but remembering, even if it had, he wouldn’t have been able to do it. In fact, he wasn’t sure if he would be able to circulate it while having sex because it needed a lot of his focus.
So, he just said, ’Thank you for the advice. I’ll keep it in mind.’
Riya gave him an angry look, harrumphed, and stood up. "Let’s go then."
Eric smiled bitterly and stood up. "You guys get ready to leave. I’ll be back in a short while."
Riya immediately forgot she was angry and asked, "Where are you going now?"
Elena and Liam also looked at him questioningly.
"Just going to make sure Luke’s people aren’t snooping around. It’ll be better if he doesn’t find out where we are." Saying this, he walked out.
Although the Kroft family had made a rule that no one could unreasonably attack anyone living in the Middle City since everyone living there was paying them taxes, he was sure the noble families could break this rule without suffering much punishment.
Since he feared that if Luke found out they were living in the middle city, unable to do anything, he would just tell the noble about Riya and Elena, who—seeing how perverted he was—would definitely try to get them. So, it was better if Luke didn’t find out where they were, at least until he became strong enough to deal with the noble.
Walking out, he glanced around. Although it was getting dark as night approached, he could still see clearly.
’Hmm? My eyesight has also improved a little.’ He realized.
As he looked around, he quickly noticed the same guy he saw in the morning and immediately rushed toward him.
Swoosh!
Swoosh!
Noticing him coming toward him, the guy turned around and started running away.
Seeing this, Eric sneered and pushed his speed to the limit.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
The man was about to slow down when he looked back and saw Eric rapidly closing the distance between them, and his eyes widened.
He then gritted his teeth and ran as fast as he could, but soon realized he wouldn’t be able to outrun him, so he slowed down before stopping completely and turning around.
"You shouldn’t have chased after me, kid. Now, you’ll—Gah!" He started saying while stretching his neck and jerking his hands, trying to look threatening.
However...
Swoosh!
Bang!
Argh!
Not slowing down even a bit, Eric rushed in and delivered a punch to his gut, cutting off his speech. The strong impact made the man double over, clutch his abdomen, and scream in pain.
Eric didn’t stop, not wanting to give him a chance to retaliate even if he wasn’t a warrior, and threw an uppercut at his chin.
Bang!
The punch connected with his chin, almost breaking his jaw and disorienting him. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
He then raised his right leg and kneed him in the chest.
Bang!
Crack!
The crisp sound of ribs breaking sounded, and only then did he stop, took a step back, and took a good look at him as he screamed in pain.
He looked to be around twenty-three or twenty-four years old, was around 5’10’’, had a good build, and looked shady and somewhat dangerous.
If it was before and he saw him, Eric definitely wouldn’t have gone close to him, but now he felt no fear.
"Is there anyone else keeping watch with you?" He coldly asked, however, the guy didn’t answer and continued whimpering.
Eric narrowed his eyes and kicked his chest where he had kneed him, causing him to scream even more.
"Ahhhhh! Stop, you bastard!"
"Answer." Eric coldly asked as he raised his leg, ready to strike if he resisted again.
Seeing this, he hurriedly shouted, "Wait! N-No. There is no one else."
Eric stared at him in silence making him nervous before asking, "You sure?"
Just as he was about to answer, he kicked, but not too hard, his head, making him dizzy and fall to the ground.
Thud!
After a few seconds, the man regained his senses and glared at him venomously, "I told you!" He hissed.
Eric narrowed his eyes slightly before taking a step toward him, which made him flinch, and squatted down in front of him before grabbing him by his hair, "I’m going to ask one last time, tell me the truth or I’ll kill you." He said in a chilling tone.
"Is there someone else watching over my house?"
Gulp!
The man gulped in fear. From the look in Eric’s eyes, he could tell he would do just as he said if he lied.
’Fuck! How can he tell I’m lying?’ He cursed in his mind before nodding, "Yes, there is one guy more. However, he returned to his home a while ago."
"Is that so?" Eric muttered,
"Yes."
"Alright then. Sleep for a while." Saying this, he went behind him and hit the back of his neck, making him lose consciousness.
