Super Zoo-Chapter 759 - 738: Could You Suck Out the Poison_3
At the other end of the alley was a bustling little street, yet unlike the commercial street on the other side, it seemed to be a fish market, with vendors on both sides and water containers full of fish piled up everywhere on the street, spreading a strong fishy smell throughout.
There were also some tattooed ruffians looking like gangsters, playing mahjong at the stalls by the roadside.
A woman in just her underwear was supporting a limping man as they walked out of the alley, drawing the attention of several mahjong tables around them; a few hoodlums whistled at He Baowen, who was wearing a black lace bra, from afar.
"What are you looking at! Never seen a woman before? Go home and look at your mom!" He Baowen retorted fiercely, flipping the middle finger all around.
The two were about to head to the other end of the fish market when they had barely made it halfway before a group of seven or eight dodgy-looking young men emerged from a shop that was conspicuously larger than the others, blocking Suming's way.
The leader was tall and skinny, with an indelible air of arrogance on his face.
It was Shenghe Jixiang, who had lost face in front of Suming outside the YGQ Restaurant just the other day.
Suming frowned slightly. How did he run into him here?
This was Causeway Bay, precisely Jixiang's turf. From the looks of it, did this kid want to kick a man when he was down and regain the face he lost that day?
And those two oddballs earlier, could they be related to Jixiang? freewёbnoνel.com
Thinking of this, Suming truly got a bit irate.
The car-smashing incident last time was actually handled quite politely, hardly making things difficult for those gangsters; and later on, when A Le from Shenghe joined him in business, he didn't bother Jixiang, but now Jixiang was provoking him instead?
Suming was already fuming after being blatantly attacked, thinking, "You really take me for hellokitty when a tiger doesn't show its might?!" Today, if this guy dared to blabber, he had to take him down!
"What do you want?!" Suming got impatient, frowning, as a few of the gangsters were leering at He Baowen's chest, blocking his way.
"Move it, all of you!"
Unexpectedly, Jixiang's attitude that day had made a complete 180 degrees turn compared to the day of the car-smashing incident. He turned around, waved his hand, and scolded the few underlings with wandering eyes before saying to Suming very warmly, "Mr. Su, what brings you to the fish market today? Oh, this is my territory, the whole market is under my control. If missy wants to buy fish, I'll have them pick a few of the largest grouper to send over."
Suming was taken aback. What did he mean?
"Hehe, I only found out you are friends with Le after A Le told me. That day's incident was a misunderstanding," Jixiang said with a chuckle, noticing Suming's confusion. "Speaking of which, I must thank Mr. Su. Le gave me the position of a leader of Causeway Bay for the next session."
No wonder there was such a change in his demeanor. As it turned out, Jixiang rose in rank through his misfortune.
As for the 'favor', that wasn't necessarily true either; perhaps A Le wanted to groom a trusted successor before he retired.
"Mr. Su, you are injured?" Jixiang finally noticed Suming's odd stance, one foot higher than the other, being helped by He Baowen. The two did not seem to be out on a joyous excursion; rather, they looked as if they had been chased down in a sorry state.
"Right! You've been playing mahjong here all this time; have you seen two tourists, also carrying very old-fashioned big travel bags?" Suming asked.
"They looked like gangsters from the '80s!" He Baowen added.
"I saw them! Those two punks rushed out in a fluster, even knocking over a stall," said Jixiang, nodding vigorously and angrily. "They injured one of my brothers, ran so fast, and with more than a dozen of us, we couldn't catch up! What, did they hurt you?"
"It was them," Suming said.
"Wow, to hurt Mr. Su on my turf is to disrespect me, and to disrespect me is to disrespect the Causeway Bay community, and to disrespect the community is to disrespect the fifty-thousand members of Shenghe!"
Jixiang was feeling good as he had just become the leader and rattled off a tongue twister of sorts, "Don't worry, Mr. Su, as long as they are still in Causeway Bay, I will scour every inch of the ground to find them and avenge you!"
Without further ado, he picked up his phone, dialing one number after another.
"Hello, Sang Biao? This is Jixiang! Help me find two men who look like gangsters!"
"Hello, Dinosaur? It's Jixiang!... They might not necessarily be gangsters, but they sure look like it. I'll get the brothers who've seen them to join you..."
"Hello, Xian Shiqiang, damn you, this is Jixiang! Check all the hotels, hostels, and stables, help me root out two people!"
"Hello, Da Fei, have you seen two people with travel bags going out to sea on your boat? Alright, alright, I'll send someone to keep watch..."
...
Quickly, more than twenty of Jixiang's minions who had seen the 'tourists' were dispatched to track their whereabouts.
Jixiang insisted on taking Suming to his shop, claiming that a two-foot-long grouper had just been freshly caught by a sea boat that day—a rare delicacy. He insisted on treating Suming to it.
Seafood is invigorating, and with an external injury, one should particularly avoid such food. However, Jixiang was so enthusiastic, and considering that he possessed spiritual power, having some fish was not a big problem. Keeping up appearances is important in the underworld, and it would be rude to decline such an eager invitation. Thus, Suming, accompanied by He Baowen, entered Jixiang Seafood Stall.
Jixiang wasn't just boasting; a two-foot-long grouper was basically unseen on the market, impressing immensely just by sight. As the three of them chatted and ate, they quickly polished off the grouper.
It was during their conversation that Suming learned Jixiang, the gangster leader, also had a legitimate source of business—marine seafood. This was actually his main source of income. Without the power to call the shots in Causeway Bay before, he could only run a small shop of his own. Now that he had the leading role, he planned to invest more, take over all the shops in the area, and even get a loan to buy a few boats for fishing at sea.
