Chapter 42: Tearing The Damn Dress -1

Rivana’s breath hitched at his sultry voice, his warm breath sending waves of heat through her body. She had never felt like this before, or more like no one had ever made her feel like this with just a mere few words. Azrael leaned back to see her expression, his dark eyes twinkling with a rare light of joy. She lowered her eyes, trying to hide her blushing. This man was really good at seducing, and she was falling for it all too easily.

Azrael raised her chin, making Rivana shut her eyes, her heart beating faster and faster. She held her breath as he leaned closer, her lips quivering slightly with anticipation. Azrael smiled and closed the gap between their lips. He lightly grazed them, sending a shiver down Rivana’s spine. But before she could completely feel his lips on hers, he moved up and kissed the tip of her nose.

Rivana felt him pulling back and opened her eyes in confusion. Their eyes locked, and she realized that he was teasing her again.

"Let me upgrade it now that you are an adult." His earlier words flashed in her mind, and she realized he was talking about kissing her nose instead of pinching it. Oh, he had tricked her again! This jerk! She cursed in her mind, glaring at him with her face burning red.

"What? Don’t tell me you were expecting something else," Azrael innocently asked, blinking as if unaware.

Rivana huffed and freed herself from his hold. But just as she was about to walk out, Azrael pulled her back and trapped her in his hold again, his grip around her waist tightening.

"Leave me! I am done playing with you!" Rivana grumbled, trying to wriggle out. But in response, Azrael wrapped both his hands around her, completely locking her in a hug.

Rivana sneered at him and accepted her defeat, crossing her arms against her chest and looking away. Azrael smiled at her expression. If she kept being this cute, he wouldn’t be able to stop himself. But he needed to since it was still quite early, and he didn’t want her to regret it later.

"You don’t want to hold the party?" Azrael asked, going back to the main reason he had come to her.

Rivana looked at him, the softness in his expression melting away her irritation. How could she possibly be angry if he looked this charming and sweet? "I don’t know," she replied.

"We can cancel the party if you don’t want it," Azrael replied, his tone serious. Weddings and such things were a waste of time for him, and all that mattered was that she was with him. To catch the person behind Rivana, they could always come up with another plan.

Rivana shook her head. "Your uncle seems excited about it. Let’s not break his heart." With a smile, she added, "And it would also be fun to see him making a clown of himself."

If they held a party, Aldona would definitely drag everyone, including Viktor, to it even without an invitation since they were still considered family. She also made a note to talk with her about Azrael’s succession. He had done so much for her, and she needed to play her part and help him take what had always belonged to him.

Azrael smiled and nodded in response. "I will send an invitation to your family as well. There’s someone very eager to meet Viktor."

Rivana blinked in confusion. "Who?"

"Your sister has been trying to contact him ever since the wedding day. But he is avoiding her completely," Azrael briefed the news from his intel.

Rivana nodded in response. Viktor had never really cared about Rubina, though she seemed to have a crush on him even in the future. But things changed when she came home saying she was pregnant too, and his attention totally shifted to her. Though they were back in the past, she knew Rubina would pull this pregnancy stunt again, and it would be fun to see them bring themselves down with it.

Azrael wondered what was going on in her mind, but before he could ask, a knock on the door interrupted them again. They both turned around and saw Leonora standing with an apologetic smile.

"I am sorry for disturbing, but I need to leave. My manager is looking for me."

Rivana nodded in response, and her friend’s cheeky smile only then made her realize that Azrael was still holding her. A blush crept up her cheeks again, realizing they were standing too close, too intimate. She quickly wriggled out of his embrace and rushed out.

"Come. I will walk you out," Rivana murmured to her friend, clinging to her arm. Leonora nodded, holding back her chuckle. It was fun to see her usually poker-faced Anna blushing so much.

Two days later, time passed in a whirlwind, with everyone getting busy in their own tasks. While Callum got busy handling the team and their shadow mission for the party, Ezekiel made sure it would be one of the most ethereal parties anyone would witness in history. He had invited all the influentials and even government officials to the party to create a bond now that Azrael would soon be taking over the Hugons. Aldona had promised him now that he was married to Rivana, and that woman never went back on her word.

The newlyweds also got caught up in handling their own companies. Many new partners were coming forward to collaborate with Rivana, thanks to her reputation and Shadow’s success. Azrael tried to manage the Dynar empire back in Draxton while sitting here in the sub-branch.

There were times when they crossed paths, during dinners with Ezekiel, morning coffee, and Rivana liked every moment how they were getting closer. Even her bond with Ezekiel and Callum got better in the last two days.

George escorted Ezekiel into the hotel, all set for the grand night. Ezekiel was wearing a navy blue suit with a white shirt inside, while George was dressed in his uniform.

"Hmm, good job," Ezekiel nodded in approval as they stepped into the hall. The decorations were exquisite, with elegantly set tables and ambient lighting creating a magical atmosphere. "Where’s Anna? Did she arrive?" he inquired, wondering if she was still running late. He had nagged the couple to take a leave for today, but both declined, saying how the party was at night and it would be a waste of the day. They were both passionate about work, and he just hoped they would be passionate about themselves too.

"Yes, Master. Her friend had escorted her to her room earlier," George replied with a small smile.

"And what about that brat?"

"Young Master should be here soon," George replied, pursing his lips.

Ezekiel nodded and looked at the time. It was still five in the evening, and he hoped Azrael would wrap up his work soon and be here.

Meanwhile, in Rivana’s room, Leonora’s entire team started preparing to get their beautiful bride ready. The makeup artists and hairstylists got their things set, working meticulously to create a stunning look. They styled her hair in elegant waves and gave her a light, no-makeup look to enhance her natural beauty.

"Oh my god! You look beautiful, sweetheart," Frankie, Leonora’s designer, commented, everyone agreeing with him. He excitedly revealed the breathtaking crimson red gown. "Oh, it’s lovely!" Leonora mused, giving a thumbs-up. It had turned out exactly like she had wanted it to be.

Rivana’s eyes widened in shock, and she shook her head. "No, I am not wearing that!"

Everyone turned to her in surprise. Unlike the others, Lily, Leonora’s manager, agreed with her. It was beautiful but also too bold for the night.

"I poured my blood, sweat, and tears to get this done, Anna," Frankie grumbled with a pout. Pointing at his under-eyes, he continued, "Look at these eyebags I got pulling all-nighters. You can’t betray me now."

"Yes." Leonora agreed with a nod. "You are wearing it. And that’s final." Taking the dress, she shoved it into Rivana’s hands and pushed her friend into the dressing room. Locking the door, she added, "Make it fast. We have only two hours to get you ready."

After a few minutes, Rivana walked out in the dress. Everyone gasped out loud, marveling at her beauty that actually made the dress look beautiful.

Leonora smiled and made her stand in front of the mirror. Rivana looked at Leonora in the mirror and murmured, "He might not like it."

Leonora cheekily giggled and murmured, "Yeah. The mission is to make him tear it apart tonight."

Everyone chuckled, and Frankie giggled. That was their plan, and everyone laughed out too, making Rivana blush even harder.

The joyous moment was broken when someone arguing with the security barged into the room.

Rivana and Leonora turned to the door, seeing a woman dressed in a tight red dress standing in front of them.

The woman sneered, looking Rivana up and down in disgust, "So you are the bitch who seduced him?"
