Stolen By My Billionaire Brother-In-Law-Chapter 36: He Is Not Good For You
"But what?" Ezekiel growled, taking a step forward and holding onto the doctor’s collar. His voice echoed through the corridor, his eyes burning with fury as he stared down the doctor, who trembled under his grip.
Callum sighed and took a step forward. "Let him complete," he murmured, releasing the doctor from his master’s grip. Yes, it was frustrating that the doctor wasn’t getting to the point, but they needed to keep calm.
"He had lost too much blood," the doctor stammered. "We needed more blood, but the hospital had no stock of his type since it was a black day and there had been too many accidents. His blood type is AB negative, which is quite rare, and we couldn’t find it in our current stock."
Everyone in the corridor stepped forward, saying, "Take mine!" "Take mine!"
Rivana gasped in surprise at the team’s devotion. The way everyone was ready to give blood for Azrael conveyed how important he was to them. It also warmed her heart that he had so many people to rely on in difficult times, unlike in childhood when, except for his mother, no one in the Hugon family cared about him much.
Callum picked one of the men with the same blood type, who instantly rushed to give blood to his master. In fact, he considered it an honor, knowing how much Azrael had done to keep the Dynars feared by many.
The doctor nodded and went inside, leaving Rivana still worried. This time, even Ezekiel was a little worried, and she decided to comfort him.
"He will be fine. Don’t worry," Rivana murmured, patting his back. When Ezekiel reluctantly nodded, she added, "He needs to get better at least to keep his promise."
Ezekiel smiled at her, and they waited for another frustrating hour. When the doctors finally came out, they all quickly rushed toward him.
"He is out of danger," the doctor announced, giving the good news first. "The bullet had torn his ligament but luckily missed the bone. It will take time to recover, and he needs lots of rest."
"Can we see him?" Rivana asked with hope.
The doctor nodded and replied, "But only one can stay at night."
Everyone nodded and sighed in relief. Rivana thanked the doctor and smiled at Ezekiel, who nodded and smiled back in relief. After an hour, they were escorted to Azrael’s room. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Callum made sure to order Dawn to cover the entire corridor and leave two men in front of the VVIP room. Meanwhile, Rivana and Ezekiel walked inside the room.
Rivana couldn’t help but tear up seeing Azrael on the bed. He was in a hospital gown, and the bandage was visible around his shoulder. His face was pale, and he looked exhausted. She took a seat beside him, gently holding his hand.
Ezekiel stood beside her and sighed in relief. This wasn’t something new for Azrael, and that thought hurt him the most. Whoever it was, he was sure it must be someone hating the Dynars, and he felt guilty for putting Rivana’s life in danger as well.
He came out of his thoughts when he heard small sobs beside him. He looked at Rivana, who had started crying again, and broke into a small smile. Azrael had once accidentally mentioned that there was someone who would cry even worse than his mother if he got hurt. And that person seemed to be Rivana.
"Even if it’s a light bruise, she could cry so loud and annoy me more," he recalled Azrael saying. Ezekiel was happy that he was able to reconcile with that someone special again.
Moving closer, he patted her head and tried to comfort her, "He will get better soon. Don’t worry."
Rivana nodded, sniffling. "I know, but I just can’t stop it," she confessed, wiping away her tears.
Ezekiel broke into a smile at her cute confession. He nodded and stayed with her for a while before the doctor came to check on Azrael again.
"When will he wake up?" Rivana asked as the doctor finished testing.
"It could be by tomorrow, or it might take more time," the doctor replied. They nodded, and the doctor left. The nurse stayed behind and said that only one person could stay.
"I will stay with him. You should go home and rest," Rivana said even before Ezekiel could bring it up.
Callum tried to deny and stay behind, but Ezekiel stopped him and nodded at Rivana. "All right. But make sure to rest too," Ezekiel replied. Rivana nodded with a smile and bid them off. Once they were past the corridor, she closed the door and went to sit on the chair beside him again.
Tucking him properly, she held onto his hand and caressed it, her mind going back to the earlier incident. Her heart couldn’t stop itself from fluttering at the way he tricked her to find answers to her muddled questions about him.
Because of tiredness, Rivana slowly drifted off to sleep. Though Azrael was beside her, she was still pulled into that dream again. The familiar darkness enveloped her, and she found herself standing in the same dimly lit room where she had been in the last dream before Azrael woke her up.
The air was thick and heavy, carrying a faint, musty smell. Shadows danced on the walls, cast by the flickering candlelight that seemed to struggle against the encroaching darkness. The room felt cold, and Rivana shivered, hugging herself as she tried to make sense of her surroundings.
"Mommy!" a small, worried voice called out, breaking the eerie silence. Rivana turned to see Alan standing there, still in his angel clothes. His expression was tense and worried, a stark contrast to the serene demeanor he usually had. Caressing her cheek with his small, warm hand, Alan asked, "Are you alright?"
Before Rivana could respond, he shook his head and got into his main duty. "No, you won’t be alright until he is around you."
"What do you mean?" Rivana frowned and asked him.
Alan’s expression turned serious as he warned her, "You are getting into danger because of him, Mommy."
"Azrael?" Rivana asked in confusion.
To her surprise, Alan nodded. With a serious expression, he warned her, "Please stay away from him. He is not good for you."
"You... you will die again because of him."
