Stolen By My Billionaire Brother-In-Law-Chapter 25: A Grave For Two -2
Viktor’s emotions swung wildly between confusion and frustration. Realization hit him like a ton of bricks—he had walked into a trap set by his step-brother. Glancing over to their seats, he saw Azrael smiling in his direction, making him grit his teeth.
Viktor then turned to Rivana and couldn’t believe she was taking his side. All he did was spend a single night with her sister. Why was she acting like he had cheated and betrayed her?
The cameramen quickly zoomed in to capture the images on the screen. Alexander turned to it and started, "As you can see, these are CCTV footage from their bachelor party." He mocked, continuing, "That night, Rivana left early as something came up at the company. But who knew it was all planned by our current beloved CEO to send her away so he could have real fun."
"And once his fiancée left, Viktor started making moves on her blind sister." The video zoomed in, showing Viktor getting close to Rubina. More surprisingly, Rubina didn’t push him away or act uncomfortable.
"What is going on here?" Rafaelo roared, seeing his sister being dragged into the mess. Yes, Rubina had already admitted that she was drunk and slept with Viktor. They had already handled it, framing Rivana for it, but... His eyes turned to Rivana’s table. No way, did they find proof against them?
The video continued to play, showing how Rubina accidentally spilled the drink over her deep-neck dress, and it got all over her. Viktor quickly tried to help her. Both parties’ actions looked clear—they seemed eager for each other!
Many shareholders were already wearing disapproving scowls as they had seen everything last night. Making Rivana the CEO seemed a better way to clear this mess and maintain the company’s reputation.
"Honey, you should stop them!" Amerie urged Emmerich, tucking his arm. But Emmerich, to her dismay, shrugged her away.
Adjusting his tie, he muttered under his breath, "Her reputation is already ruined. There’s no point in saving it." Rubina gritted her teeth at her father’s words and tried to reach for her brother’s hand, hoping he would help. But Rafelo simply patted her arm, having no guts to speak against their father.
"Woah! He is carrying her to a room~" one of the reporters chirped, barely holding their shock. If Viktor was really only trying to help Rubina, he should have taken her to the restroom, not straight into a private room.
"What’s the point of showing this video, Alex?" Isabelle, Viktor’s aunt, grumbled. Standing up from her seat, she continued, "Ruby already said Rivana spiked their drinks. How could they have controlled themselves?"
Glaring at Rivana, she accused further, "This evil woman set the trap! Even the audio confirms it!"
Many reporters agreed with the point. The video did little to prove Rivana was innocent. In fact, it proved that after spiking their drinks, she smartly escaped from the scene.
Alexander simply smiled and replied, "Yes, Belle. We are getting to it." Nodding at the staff below, he waited for the next video to play.
"This was the bartender who was serving them that night. He confirmed that all the drinks that were served were normal." Alexander stepped back so everyone could see it clearly.
The reporters quickly noted down, and even the manager confirmed it. He went on to say how Rubina had specifically asked for drinks with high alcohol content for both of them once Rivana left them alone with others.
"They would be lying! She must have bought all of them!" Isabelle continued to accuse further, trying to save Viktor. But Alexander’s smirk made her realize she was fighting for a lost cause.
"And the culprit who released that audio. He has a confession to make too."
Then the last bomb was dropped on the screen. A meek person with dark eyebags, looking like a tech geek, appeared on the scene. He looked terrified as if there was a gun pointed at his head before he started spitting out his crimes.
"The audio is fake! I created it using my AI software." His profile was posted beside him, showing how he usually used his talent to make memes of celebrities. With a gulp, he continued, "Someone from Rubina Faye’s side contacted me and paid me lumps. I have proof too."
Opening his phone, he moved the camera and showed the chat that had the whole conversation, from the money received message to how the messenger confirmed if they were from Rubina or Viktor’s side to the man’s question with a yes.
"And all this proves that Rivana was indeed innocent," Alexander concluded. Standing in the center, he added, "The poor girl loved this bastard and sacrificed so much for him. And in return? Not only did he cheat on her, but he also accused her of it."
Many were already spanning their cameras in Viktor’s direction. He had tried to escape, but two bodyguards brought him back and made him sit, watching his moves closely.
"And we, all shareholders, have together agreed to make Rivana the CEO. We are guilty of believing in lies and not trusting her. We hope this decision will make her forgive us." Alexander ended his job with a smile. He sighed inwardly when Azrael looked seemingly pleased, a rare smile playing on his lips.
"Yes! You guys made the right decision!"
"Yeah! She is the backbone, and it’s time for her to shine!"
"True. Her talent was only been overshadowed by that prickly jerk all these years."
Many reporters were quick to pass their judgments, mainly women who glared at the asshole. It all seemed fair and right that Rivana had married her fiancé’s step-brother. She must have known that they were cheating and had paid them well.
Azrael turned to his wife, who for once looked in her best expression. She was smiling contentedly, her glow reaching her eyes that he had missed seeing so much. Getting up from his chair, he took out his hand and asked, "Come. Let’s take back what was rightfully yours."
Rivana looked at him, his words filling her with a sense of comfort. The way he included himself in her success, as if assuring her that he would always be with her to share her struggles, it warmed her heart. Taking a deep breath, she smiled and took his hand.
Viktor was boiling with anger, his expression barely hiding his jealousy. He silently swore to make them pay for it, specifically Rivana, who should have been by his side!
All the cameramen started flashing as the couple proudly walked over to the stage, closely followed by Viktor. A small seating arrangement was quickly made for Rivana to sit and sign the papers. She took the pen from Alexander with a smile, but before she could sign, Emmerich got up from his seat.
"Wait." His voice broke through the excitement in the room, all reporters turning to him. Many wondered what more tea he had to spill into this drama.
"But according to the principles set, shouldn’t the highest shareholder be the next CEO, Alexander?" Emmerich made a point that everyone seemed to have forgotten.
Rivana gritted her teeth, cursing herself that it had slipped her mind. When Emmerich agreed to invest, he had only one condition. If the CEO fails to do their job, then eventually the powers would fall into the highest shareholder’s hands. She had foolishly agreed to it, desperate to find funds to push their company into the competitive market.
"That..." Alexander was speechless too. He was so excited about working for Azrael that he didn’t overlook these terms.
Emmerich smirked proudly, and many shareholders scowled, knowing he was the major one among them and the company would be his soon.
"Yes! Since my husband is the major shareholder, only he is entitled to be the next CEO." Amerie joined in, her smug smile making Rivana grit her teeth. Why did she never like to see her happy?
Azrael simply smirked at the old man’s confidence, his expression confusing many again. "How can he be the major shareholder after selling all his shares, Mother-in-law?" he simply asked, creating more murmurs among the crowd. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"What nonsense are you spouting?" Emmerich growled, his face a mask of fury.
"I am stating facts, my dear father-in-law." Azrael replied, his mocking address making everyone muffle their snickers. Even Rivana looked at him in surprise.
"You sold all of them last night, Mr. Faye. And Mr. Dynar bought them." Callum replied with a proud smile.
"No! I did not sell anything!"
"Really?" Azrael mused, raising his eyebrow. Turning to Rafelo, he continued, "Ah, then it must be your son."
Emmerich turned to Rafelo, who was now looking like he had caused a huge mess. Walking over, he grabbed his collar and asked, "Did you?"
When Rafelo didn’t reply, his forehead breaking into a thin sweat, Emmerich growled again, "Answer me, dammit!"
"Ye... yes!" Rafelo admitted frantically.
